LOGINREIKA**
A humming began softly, sending vibrations and tingles through me. My eyes cracked open, expecting to see darkness but what greeted my eyes was a forest, filled with colorful variations of flowers and lush plants. I sat up, my eyes taking in my surroundings, the sound of a waterfall drumming pleasantly in my ears. Where was I? Instinctively, my hand reached for my stomach as I looked down and shrank back in shock. My body…my body was gone. All that was left of me was a transparent entity that looked like it was about to evaporate. At that moment, the memory of all that happened rushed back like a distant waterfall. Kaid, Lyra. My baby. After all the years I have waited to have my child, just for it to be cruelly snatched away alongside my life, my pack.h A rustle among the leaves caught my attention. I turned to the side to behold the most splendid creature I have ever seen. Her skin was luminous, the same as mine but hers was glowing like she was made with glitter. She was dressed in a golden floor-length robe and as she walked, flowers lined up the pathway. Her black hair tumbled down her back, interwoven with crystals, and on her head was a golden star crown. She stopped some yards away from me, her eyes kind and warm. “Who are you?” I croaked, my voice coming out as a whisper. “I go by many names, my child, but you might know me as the moon goddess.” My pupils widened and I bowed my head in reverence. “Why am I here? Is this the afterlife?” I asked. Her fingers hooked around my chin to lift my head. “This is the boundary between life and death. You summoned me here as you were dying,” she answered. “But I'm still dead. You couldn't help me either way. So what's the use of coming now? Where's my baby?” I hissed. “ Your child is in a better place.” I shook her finger off my face and crumbled to the ground, tears sneaking out of my eyes and evaporating into the wind. “What do you want with me? Can you bring my body back to life? Can you help me get revenge?” She came closer to me, conjuring up a vine throne interwoven with flowers before taking a seat opposite me. “ I can't bring your body back to life, my child. But revenge, I can help you get revenge,” she responded. My ears perked up at her words and I moved closer to her. “How will you do that? You said you can't bring my body to life!” “ I can't tamper with your body since it was already mutilated and is presently buried, but I can put your soul in another body,” The thought of my body already buried gripped my heart with so much sadness I felt the air around me stifling. How did Bella take the news of my death? What lie did they cook up for my death? “Do I get to pick the body?” “No. I will put your soul into the body of a sinner and you have the chance to take your revenge within six months.” She answered solemnly. “Six months? When the time is up, whether I succeed or not, I'll die again?” “Yes.” “Th—that’s not fair. My life was taken away from me when I finally found something worth living for and now after I get my revenge it'll be taken away again. I won't ever get a wolf nor rule my pack,” I sniffed. Although I still very much liked the offer I couldn't help but feel I was getting the short end of the stick. The moon goddess remained silent, her eyes closed in contemplation. “Alright. During six months you have to take your revenge, if you can find your fated mate and get him to mark you, you'll live in the body for as long as nature allows.” She pronounced. My eyebrows scrunched up, my lips twisted in a sneer at the thought of another mate. “I just got killed because I loved a man and now you want me to love another one?” “It is necessary. As long as you have a mate, his life force will naturally flow into you giving you life for as long as he lives. If you are unable to find one, you'll be dead after six months.” I tapped my transparent finger against a leaf, going over her words. This was the best offer I was going to get if I wanted to get my pack back and crush those cheating pair. “Alright, I'll do it. What happens to the previous soul in the body you are going to place me in? Am I going to get a wolf this time?” “The soul will be locked. If you succeed in your task, it'll disappear permanently, but if you fail, it'll take over and you shall die. I can’t predict whether you’ll have a wolf or not. You may be reborn with a wolf, or with something else. Time will tell. Now sleep, child. Remember you have six months to succeed!” My eyes closed on their own as I fell back, feeling a soft padding against my back. My body tingled as the moon goddess's warning reverberated in my ears, her voice distant. My skin felt ablaze, my mouth parted in a silent scream and it suddenly felt like I was falling from a cliff. Abruptly it stopped. I felt a hard surface once more, and not just hard externally but internally also. A hand gripped my waist as my core was suddenly thrust into. My eyes remained closed as a shiver ran through my body. This feeling felt more right than ever like this was supposed to be happening. The thrusting increased as I grounded my hips against the hard length, matching its pace and intensity, I felt my legs buckle, and a blinding light flashed through my consciousness as the man gripped my waist tightly and spilled hot seed inside me. My eyes parted, narrowed into slits as I gradually came to myself and looked down at the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen in my life. “AHH!” I screamed as I leaped from the bed, pushing the man away in the process. In my haste my back crashed into the wall, making me whimper as the man turned to face me. “Zara, what's gotten into you?” He thundered a tinge of red flashing through his brown eyes. Wait—Zara? Who is Zara?Reika**“You did this?” He asked. It didn't seem like he needed an answer for that so I stayed silent, my chest heaving as the death look Lyra had in her eyes crossed my mind again. It was exhilarating. I could feel the blood pumping in my veins. If I had stayed in the room any longer, I'd have burst into laughter.I can't laugh in their face now. I had to hold it in.Stephan walked up to me and leaned against the wall.“Is today their death day?” He asked quietly.I caught a glimpse of him through the corners of my eyes a bit shocked that he didn't reprimand my reckless action.“Not yet.”“They're going to die soon.” I looked at the clock hanging on the wall and the corners of my lips lifted in a smile.“Two more minutes.”Right in time, footsteps echoed from the corridor.“Help me. I need some epipens!” I screamed then rested against the wall.Karin rushed towards where she stood holding two small cylindrical pens in her hands.“Thank you Karin, please tell Myron to hurry up for di
Stephan**I cursed under my breath, my hands fiddling with the buttons on my shirt as I walked down the hallway to our bedroom to pick up Zara.A mild irritation coursed through me. Irritation at myself for what my head still considered a pretty bad decision. There was no guarantee that Zara—Reika could be trusted and here I was putting her in charge of a deal that could potentially cost millions to the pack if it failed.I reached the door, knocked twice then stepped back.I only needed her to find who was behind the attack. I wasn't even sure about getting her to break the spell that hovered around me now that her identity was brought to light. The Reika that I knew wasn't the person that was in that body. The hinges on the door creaked softly and the clicking of heels followed.I turned to the door and almost got my breath knocked out of me.My wolf stirred underneath my skin, sending my breath raging and heat crawling up my neck.My eyes drank in her appearance, the red gown hugg
Reika**I didn't trust Stephan. My immediate instinct once to leave the room was to whoop for joy but I couldn't push of the alarm that slowly took over my system. It was going well. Our discussion went far too well.I loved being out of jail but I expected to be thrown back any time again.I slipped out of our bedroom, walked swiftly to my bedroom and shut the door securely.Once inside, I checked the hiding spots around the room. There was a piece of paper lying around somewhere which held my internal monologue of praying the moon goddess changes her mind and gives me more days on earth.I found the paper and immediately shredded it into unrestorable bits.I took out the wad of cash that Zara hid in the floorboards, stored it underneath my shirt and headed out of the room.I wasn't going to be back here except absolutely necessary. If Zara’s coward employer had a task for her, he knew where to find her.I returned to our bedroom and a bit of the alarm that ravaged my system began t
Zara/Reika**I could feel my body sway softly in my sleep, a slight breeze tickling the soles of my feet and my face pressed against a solid surface that smelled of aftershave and pinewood.I pressed my nose into it like a newborn, my fingers curling as a bubble of warmth spread throughout my body.I cracked my eyes open, my vision still slightly blurry but I couldn't see the dark damp walls of the prison anymore. My eyes shot open immediately. My body was in mid air. I looked up to see Stephan's face, a dark shadow covering his chin and a faraway look in his eyes.My mind travelled to my wrists as I could no longer feel the cool press of the handcuffs against it.It was gone, replaced by a deep angry red mark that was bleeding.“Stephan.” I mumbled.“You're awake.” he answered and continued to walk through the corridor. We passed a group of maids who lowered their head, a coy look in their eyes and their cheeks stained pink.I tried to jump to the floor but his grip under my knees on
Stephan**I found her words absurd. Strange and downright insulting.Every thought in my head was blocked out, replaced by the confession Zara no Reika made that morning. As a kid I had heard stories about souls appearing another's body but I assumed that was just what they were—stories.I didn't want to believe it. I refused to believe something like that could happen. But the more I broke the words down, the more the facts lined up as the truth. No, I wasn't going to accept that.Reika was alive and inside the body of Zara. Zara’s soul was probably gone to the afterlife. Zara was involved in a plot to kill me and now Reika was pulled into it too.Reika was killed by Kaid and Lyra. That part, I could very much believe as I had the same suspicions. She was pregnant when she died. I could understand the vengeance that drove her.But nothing else made sense. I refuse to believe it.I settled into my swivel chair and buried my face in my palm.I could just send out the orders to have her
Zara/Reika**My legs gave out when I tried to step out of the bed and walk to the table near the window.I crumbled to the floor, my white nightgown spreading like a fan around me.I bit my lips, grabbed the headboard and pushed myself off the ground.Stephan appeared next to me and before I could speak, his hands were tucked under my knees lifting and taking me to the table where a steaming bowl of chicken pepper soup was waiting for me.I settled into the soft cushioned chair and picked the spoon.Under his watchful gaze, I began to eat. Slowly to help me myself more time to present my cas well and to prevent choking on the spicy food.Stephan looked like he had the entire day or even week to spare. The spoon touched my lips and I winced from the cuts on it because of the chapped state.A balm appeared at my side in an instant.“Finish your meal first.” Stephan said when I looked up in shock I nodded and resumed eating till the soup bowl was empty. He handed me a glass of water, ma

**Reika/Zara**The songs of the night insects, the lapping of waves and slow crackling of fire burning were the sounds that welcomed me back to reality.I forced my eyes open, a soft gasp leaving my lips at the darkness that met my eyes. Then I remembered where I was. No, where we were stuck.I tri
**Zara/Reika**One moment, the vehicle was peaceful, quiet and leisurely cruising through the road. The next month, I was hovering slightly above my seat, my hand gripping Stephan's shirt so tight as the car began a free fall into the unknown below.I didn't know whether to scream, cry or stay stil
**Stephan**The commotion in the hall grew worse with each passing minute.Kaid stood helpless in a spot, his eyes still on the letter, his hands trembling and a shadow over his face. Most of the guests had moved to the other part of the room where his bride was now assaulting one of the bridesmaid
