Confrontation Gone Wrong

DUSK FORCED ME TO sit down on my favorite seat. She sat beside me, and Caleb sat down exactly in front of me.

“Are you really pissing me off?” I hissed that made him smile even wider.

“You two are totally opposite.” He commented. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by my hostile attitude towards him.

“So, now...” Dusk took a deep breath. “…let’s talk, shall we?”

“I don’t want to talk to someone who just triggered your allergy.” I sneered. “Acting lowly just because he doesn’t want you in the movie is so uncool.”

“Then you can talk to him.” Dusk’s eyebrows moved up and down that confused me.

“Yes. And tell me why you kissed me that way.” The two of them laughed that made her even more irked.

I gritted my teeth. “Are you two playing some kind of a shitty game?”

Dusk stopped laughing and appeared serious this time. “No. I’m sorry. I just can’t believe that you did that.”

I rolled my eyes and sighed in frustration. “Tell me about it.” I uttered in total embarrassment.

“But what’s even more shocking is that… you got the wrong guy!”

I froze and stared at them with wide eyes.

I what now?

“Dawn, you just confronted the wrong person!” Dusk repeated since I didn’t react. She burst out laughing and she even hit the table several times in elation.

I looked at Caleb who seems to be enjoying this moment. I felt my heart stopped beating when his green eyes met mine. He smiled at me in a charming way that even made me blush. I averted my eyes but it kept coming back to his handsome face.

Dang it!

How I hope that the floor will crack open and eat me whole so I could run away from this humiliation. I never felt so stupid in my damn life!

“I am Caleb Ross, but not the Ross that you’re looking for.” He offered his hand for a handshake but I just looked at it and sneered at him.

Dusk nudged my elbow and pouted on Caleb’s hand.

“What?” I hissed. I will not accept his handshake! Never!

Caleb beamed and I saw how his eyes sparkled. His laugh line showed but it made him look even more gorgeous.

Why the heck do I keep noticing his looks?

“I have three questions for you, milady.” He clasped his hands on top of the table and leaned closer. He cleared his throat before talking. “Why did you kiss me?”

My sister chortled. My hand automatically hit her leg and asked her to stop. God! Why is this happening right now?!

“I think I have to leave. She’s acting shy.” She stood up while laughing and quickly left us before I could even stop her.

I swallowed the air blocking my throat as I looked back at him. “No reason at all.”

“Was that really necessary?” He stared at me as if he was trying to guess what I was thinking.

No, stupid!

I shrugged my shoulders. “Who knows.”

He chuckled. “You are one fascinating woman.”

Red alert! Red alert!

His statement made my eyes squint. Now I know why I feel hostile towards him even though I’m at fault. He was oozing with sex appeal and gifted with a handsome face!

Huh?

Crap! He’s attracting me too much that my mind kept thinking weird things. What I was trying to point out was, he’s too gorgeous – one trait that a narcissist has. Don’t you think? He looks egoistic too!

Judgmental much, Dawn?

“Fierce and glorious, dazzling and intense. Just like the sunrise.” He continued and ended it with a smirk. “You’re not a kitten, you’re a lioness.”

I simpered. “Let’s cut to the chase, Mr. Caleb. Why are you here?”

“The director was so enticed by your dance, milady.” His lips slowly formed into a lopsided smile.

I can’t help but scoff as I remembered his tormented face. “And so are you.”

He chuckled and nodded at the same time. “No one can resist that.”

I didn’t expect him to say that. My heart fluttered.

I think I’m ready to apply as a dancer in a night club.

“Well, my real question is, how would you like to work as Dusk’s double to act the sexy scenes on this movie?”

Sexy… scenes?!

I gaped at him. “Are you nuts? Why am I going to do that?”

I TRIED TO HIDE the smile that was slowly forming on my lips. Dusk was right. Her sister, Dawn will never agree to this easily.

Yes, easily. She didn’t say that her twin will not accept it, I just need to look for a better reason to convince Dawn to say yes.

Dusk and Dawn are physically indistinguishable, from their reddish-brown hair, their hazel eyes, down to the mannerism they do which was to smolder. I actually thought that she was doing it to seduce me earlier but I remembered what Dusk told me when I talked to her about it.

“Me and my sister unconsciously smolder whenever we are thinking of something. So, please don’t be bothered by it or think that I am trying to catch your attention. It’s a mannerism we have.”

Of course, I thought she was only joking. But after working with Dusk for a few weeks, I realized that she was telling the truth. I confronted her about it because she seems to be seducing the guys on set but it was a mistake. On her behalf, I explained this to them and now they’re used of seeing Dusk smolder like it was a normal thing.

And pfft! As if Dawn wanted to enchant me, maybe more of ‘kill me’.

You can only tell them apart based on their attitude… their personality. While Dusk is kind and gentle, Dawn is fiery and hot tempered. They’re like Yin-Yang. Without each other, there will be no balance.

“I’m not an actress, and I don’t want to get involved in entertainment business.”

“But you already are involved, sweetheart.”

“Don’t call me that!” She hissed.

I smiled at her playfully. “What do you want me to call you then, mine?”

My smile widened as soon as she threw a dagger look at me. I like the way she treats me - hot and savage. It challenges the sleeping beast inside me. She’s not the typical woman I meet. She’s different and spicy, more reason for me to pursue her.

“I don’t like men using pick up lines on me.” She glared at me with disgust.

“I like women who hates it.” I teased.

She rolled her eyes and sharply sighed.

Oh ho! I love this! It’s been a while since I enjoyed a woman’s company without pretention. She already hates me, what image should I still protect? One downside of being an actor is you can’t act like a jerk, especially in front of a woman for the following reasons: First, you might get reported that will tarnish your figure, and second, you’ll be hated by their fans.

Being with Dawn is a breath of fresh air.

“I hate you.” She stood up and I quickly followed her downstairs.

“They say the more you hate the more you love.”

“I say, stop following me you nutso!”
