Cade's grip tightened on Zehra's chin, his fingers painfully pressing on her skin as she tried her best to seem unfazed by it.
Zehra expected him to yell, hit, or even hurt her, but his face remained expressionless. She noticed how he had one of those most beautiful faces she had ever seen, with a strong jawline, matching plump lips, and eyes darker than a night with specs of gold; girls probably flocked at him.
His lips curled, and he let out a cold laugh, letting her chin go. Zehra stood there, her face scrunching up in disgust for him.
"So brave little rabbit," Cade remarked, his eyes looking at her with an intense glare that made her uncomfortable. She was dressed in a big black dress called an abaya to conceal her body curve, which was a tradition in her homeland for unmated females. She made sure she had her hair tucked in her scarf, and there was no way he could see some of her strands.
"I'm not a little rabbit," she spats back, her eyes glaring at him, making his lips curl into a smirk.
"You are what I tell you because you are mine and my prize. Who do you belong to?" Cage hissed at her, his eyes challenging her to remark back at it.
"I don't belong to anyone!" Zehra screamed.
Cade looked at her dangerously. She could even hear a low growl of warning.
Zehra looked at him, feeling her stomach tighten at his words. In a sense, he was right, and she knew it. She felt fear crawl into her veins as she looked away instead of answering. This seemed to have angered him more.
Cade's rough hands wrapped around her thin arms, tugging her up so he could make her face him again.
Zehra gasped as sudden pain entered her body, causing her to look up at him.
"You're hurting me," she said, her voice shaky.
A loud wince left her lips as he tightened his grip instead of setting it free. Ember was about to make a move, but Cade glared at her.
"Nobody ignored me nor treated me badly, let alone tried to fight me. Like others, I won't tolerate it even if it comes from you," Cade said in a low, cold, and yet full of warning tone. "Don't test my patience, white rabbit."
Cade's other hand gripped the back of her head painfully. His finger held her scarf and then pulled it from her head, letting the white hair curtain fall like a white cloud descending from heaven. Her hair tie came out, along with the harsh pull from the king. He grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her closer to her face. The pulling pained Zehra, earning another painful gasp from her.
Zehra's eyes watered as she tried hard not to cry. She knew he wanted her to answer him, but she couldn't because she knew if she did, she would sob, and that was the last thing she wanted.
"Answer!" he commanded, nerves popping on his forehead.
"Let go of her, you bastard!"
A voice thundered from the right, one of the prison cells. Zehra knew who owned the voice, and a thunder of fear struck her heart.
Cade turned and saw Tyga, Zehra's younger brother, who was held captive in one of his portable cells. He remembered the one cheeky teen boy, probably around seventeen, who sneaked up and tried to behead him with a small kitchen knife.
Tyga tried to stir his cell, but it was useless. The cell won't budge at all.
"Zehra! Who told you to surrender?" His voice accused her as he struggled to reach his beloved older sister within the space bar of the cell.
Tyga sneaked out one night while the battle was raging on. He used some special oil and rubbed it all over him. The oil hid his scent, and he made his way to the enemy's camp. He heard they were Lycans, an extinct species, their forefather, but when one of them shifted, he saw they were like them, a normal wolf slightly larger than them. He thought he was confident with his fighting ability as he tried to find their leader waltzing his way to the enemy's camp.
When he saw him, he slowly sneaked around and waited for his chance until he found an open spot. Seeing nobody smelled him yet, he slowly emerged from his hiding and jumped onto unsuspecting Cade. But to his surprise, he was caught by the neck before he could even land an attack.
Cade then opened an empty cell and threw him inside before locking it.
Because he was still young, Tyga got scared and decided to shut up for two days, not talking about anything despite interrogation. But now that he saw Cade hurting his sister like that when she had been bare with him for a few moments angered him to no extent.
"Tyga!" Ember and Zehra screamed at the same time.
Now that Cade remembered it, he almost forgot about the punk who was supposed to ambush him. He smirked at him and let Zehra's head face in his direction.
"She belongs to me now, punk," Cade said. "She is mine!" he growled loudly.
And without giving warning, he let go of Zehra so suddenly that she fell down, hitting her head on the side.
Zehra cried out, which made Tyga and Cade turn to her. Cade was about to come by her side, but Ember was already there, helping her to stand up and wipe her tears.
"Get away from her, you jerk. You are not her mate!" Tyga said, fuming. How dare he hurt her sister?
"Your mouth is awful, punk. Maybe I'll tell it to your father, and I will have a reason to continue the war," Cade said, looking at Tyga. "I'll crumble your tiny kingdom until nothing is left," Cade said threateningly, which made Zehra realize what was happening.
"No!" Zehra suddenly spoke and ran towards Tyga's cell. "Please, Tyga stops provoking him," he pleaded.
"Zehra, you don't know. We will-"
She let out her index finger on her brother's lips.
"Please, brother. Not now, no more war," she pleaded again, crying.
Tyga never saw her sister crying before, and it broke his heart. And then he realized what Zehra had to sacrifice.
"It'll be alright, Zehra. Just let's go and pretend this didn't happen."
Zehra hugged his brother one last time.
"Choose now, white rabbit. Do you want to go with your bother, or this time I'll come into your kingdom, kill who ever in my way, and pierce your father's heart right in front of you," Cade said, his eyes looking at her. "Your choice "
Zehra flinched when she heard what Cade said. She knew he was serious based on his tune. This beast was something her kingdom couldn't handle, she knew the obvious, and she stood up, wiped her tears, and started to walk away from Tyga. Tyga looked helplessly as he watched her sister walk away from him, returning to Cade. "Zehra! No! You can't do this!" She wanted to be selfish and return but knew Cade was serious. She had seen it. He always meant business. Cade smirked and gave Tyga a triumphant smirk before gripping her arm tightly. "Free the runt and take him away back to their kingdom," he ordered one of his men before tugging Zhera into his tent, away from the comfort of love she knew. "Zehra, no! Think about your mate! Cade is not your mate! Think about your happiness!" Tyga screamed while two warriors took him away after freeing him from his cell. "Zehra!!!!!!" Even though Zehra's heart was broken when he heard her brother screaming her name, she already made up her mind.
Cade growled lowly in her ears and felt her shiver under his touch, her body growing stiff. "Your sacred traditions aren't needed in my territory, little rabbit. Even fate that you strongly believe doesn't exist here," he whispered, sending chills to Zehra. She was so beautiful and enchanting, and Cade wanted nothing but to have his way with her, breaking her strong will. And the will to know her body more than she knew it was so strong that he wanted to take her now as the heat started to travel to every inch of his body. Cade took off the scarf away from her neck and kissed Zehra's porcelain skin neck to the spot where his mark would be permanent to see. At first, he gave her playful bites and a teasing lick, enough to hear her whimpering. Cade was about to further up what he was doing when.."My King!"A voice interrupted, but Cade ignored it. He was far too busy with his little rabbit, too lost in the sea of desire and impossible to pull him back to the shore. "My King!" The
Zehra didn't want to come there and live with people she had never met. And she didn't want to live with Cade either at all. The horse halted, and she sucked in a breath for a second; there was no noise until trumpets blew, and everyone gathered to welcome their King and his new mate. The entire palace was busy with the preparations for welcoming their King back. A grand feast was being prepared to mark the new victory, one of the many the King had achieved. "What if he marries the Nortlander she-wolf?" Riff asked as Queen Nethaira turned to face her sister. "Cade is not a fool," Nethaira answered as she opened her small casket to take out her kiseru (expensive smoking pipe fit for royals). She then opened a gold box, picked some scented tobacco, and filled the bowl of the pipe before lighting it up with a lighter flame. Soon enough, a fragrant orange and some lavender arose from the smoke she puffed. "A man will not go to war for a whore, Nethaira," Riff said sternly as she step
Zehra heard a loud voice chanting-like praising their King as her carriage was carried inside the gates to someplace she didn't have any idea. Even if she was with Ember, Zehra's heart was still beating wildly. She knew she was far away from home and now doesn't know the way back home. She heard footsteps outside as the guards probably returned the horses to the stable. It went quiet for a bit, but suddenly, someone opened the curtains, and Zehra gasped as Ember jumped in front to protect her. "Looks like the king brought a two whore from another kingdom," a man spoke as he grabbed Zehra's hand and pulled her off the carriage, pushing Ember away. "Leave her alone!" Ember said before jumping to the man and shifting mid-air before landing on top of him and biting his hand while holding Zehra. The man let go of Zehra, who ran to the corner, followed by Ember in her wolf form, and snarled at those men who wanted to get near her. One of the men shifted into his wolf and attacked Ember
"I want to see how the woman looked, Cade," Letisha said to her nephew and son. The servant was done preparing her bed and waiting for the command to take her on it. "You will be, Mama," Cade replied, smiling at her. "I heard she was beautiful and came from royal blood; is it true?" "Yes, indeed. I could tell she's a white wolf just like the color of her smooth hair."Although it's rare, Letisha seeing his nephew genuinely smiling was one of the few occasions Cade could do. She believed that the Cade she used to take care of when he was a child was still there. The Cade he was now somewhat honed by the tragedy he was in a few years ago. People call him a beast, a demon, and a killer, but to her, he was just a wounded little wolf and grew into a somewhat feral wolf. She believed his old boy must be somewhere hiding behind a persona he created. "I hope she'll save you, my child," Letisha said. Cade only smiled at her. "How about you go to sleep now, and tomorrow, I'll let you me
Zehra looked at herself in the mirror; seeing her face with blood on it, she almost cried. She was the reason why Cade took someone's life. Before that, countless deaths from her kingdom happened because of her, too. When will it end? Why did Cade keep on killing people? Did he like killing them, or was it just another deadly obsession? There were too many questions, and yet they will remain unanswered. She stood up, groaning in pain a little. She stripped her clothes off and went for a hot bath. There was a red bruise on her stomach from the punch of that man who almost raped her. Sighing softly, she got into the hot water, wanting to feel better than she felt right now. After taking a bath, Zehra sat on her bed-no, his bed, wearing her light pink gown that ended on her ankles. Her hair was wet and curly. When she sat, she pulled her legs to her face, thinking about everything that happened. "My lady," Ember entered, worried about the look of her lady. "Are you tired? Did you eat
Zehra's face paled as tears dropped from her eyes. She was scared of Cade doing what he said to her. The pain of being disrespectful is too much for her to bear. Zehra is a she-wolf who was highly respected not because she was a princess but because the Northern Wolf respected women. They are equal to men regardless of their rank. "This Alpha is too much, Zehra!" her wolf commented. "How dare he treat us like this!""This man is a rumored murderer. He's ruthless. He can have what he wants, even killing a whole kingdom just to obtain what he wants," Zehra agreed. "If only our mate-"Zehra and her wolf's small talk interrupted when Cade gripped the sleeve of her light nightgown and yanked it down. The soft cloth yielded to him, ripping down slowly. The nightgown ripped and fell down, leaving her arms bare. Zehra had a thin white slip, which was sleeveless, that ended on her mid-thigh, revealing hints of her cleavage and her long legs. The moment Cade's eyes made contact with the col
"This is against Lord Fenrir's principle, Cade," came a voice as Cade turned to face Suzane, Letisha's sister who married Cade's father's brother and lost her title as the former Queen. Suzane married her real mate after the King's death, her husband. Cade stretched as his servant removed his armor. He then turned his attention to his mother. "You wouldn't be my mother if you didn't question, would you?" he replied. "You got what you wanted," Suzanne spoke as she circled in. "And now what?" she asked, her eyes peering at him. "I'll claim her as mine in front of Lord Fenrir and the people." He spoke like it was the most obvious thing possible. "You will, but one of your consorts. Nethaira is already their Queen; you can't just throw her away. People had come to like her," Suzanne said. A cold chuckle left Cade's lips as he bent down, dismissing his servant. "Was that a statement or a question? Because as far as I remember, I am not six, and you are not the Queen of this Kingdo
