Chapter 9: King Cade

"I want to see how the woman looked, Cade," Letisha said to her nephew and son.

The servant was done preparing her bed and waiting for the command to take her on it.

"You will be, Mama," Cade replied, smiling at her.

"I heard she was beautiful and came from royal blood; is it true?"

"Yes, indeed. I could tell she's a white wolf just like the color of her smooth hair."

Although it's rare, Letisha seeing his nephew genuinely smiling was one of the few occasions Cade could do. She believed that the Cade she used to take care of when he was a child was still there.

The Cade he was now somewhat honed by the tragedy he was in a few years ago. People call him a beast, a demon, and a killer, but to her, he was just a wounded little wolf and grew into a somewhat feral wolf. She believed his old boy must be somewhere hiding behind a persona he created.

"I hope she'll save you, my child," Letisha said.

Cade only smiled at her.
