Madison’s POV

The faint click of the bedroom door echoed down the hallway. Dominic had been upstairs with Monica and that thought of both of them alone in the room makes me so uncomfortable,I had held my breath, unsure of what to do.

Then, soft footsteps descended the staircase. My heart skipped when I finally saw them.

Dominic’s hand was intertwined with Monica’s. They moved with an easy grace, perfectly synchronized, looking like a couple straight out of a magazine. Monica’s dress swayed as s

I watched him walk toward the stairs, his back straight, his steps fast and sharp as if my presence burned his skin. The door to his room was already in front of him when something in my chest twisted, a tight, unfamiliar feeling.“Sir… Dominic.”He stopped. For a long moment, he didn’t turn. My fingers curled at my sides, my heart hammering faster than it should. I wanted to retreat, to vanish, but some part of me needed him to respond. He looked back at me, eyes steady and unreadable. “What is it?”His voice was calm, but there was no warmth in it.I swallowed, trying to steady my trembling. “Did I… do something wrong?”He tilted his head, like he was weighing my words, deciding if they were worth his attention. Silence from him felt heavier than any punishment he could have handed down.“What makes you think that?” he asked finally.I hesitated. Should I tell him the truth? That he flinched when I touched him, that his eyes had avoided mine all morning, that even when he spoke, it

  • Taming the billionaire's grumpy heart    Chapter 9

I went downstairs around six in the morning, intending only to grab a bottle of water before heading back up. The house was quiet, the kind of quiet that usually meant I had the place to myself. Then I heard it. The soft scrape of something against the counter, someone moving. I froze but then I saw it was Madison standing in the kitchen in light pajamas, hair sticking up in every direction, soft lips still swollen from sleep. She froze when she saw me, eyes wide. I raised an eyebrow. “Why are you awake at this hour?” Her hands tightened around a frying pan. “I… I couldn’t sleep again,” she said quickly. “So I decided to cook for you.” I didn’t say anything immediately. My chest tightened in a way I hated. I wanted to turn and leave, give her space, but I couldn’t. "Umm" I said as I leaned against the counter, still holding the bottle of water I had come for. I watched her longer than I should have. The way her wrist moved when she stirred. The way her lips parted slightly

Dominic's pov I returned later than I said I would. The house was quiet when I stepped inside, the kind of silence that settles deep into the walls, heavy and watchful. For some reason, I expected it. Madison would be in her room by now, curled up in bed, probably asleep because it's past 12 am in the morning.I loosened my tie as I walked in, shrugging off my jacket, my mind still buzzing from the evening. Monica’s laughter, the clinking of glasses, the way she had clung to my arm as if she were afraid I might disappear if she let go. I had smiled when required, spoken when expected, but my thoughts had wandered more than I cared to admit. As I crossed into the living room, my steps slowed.Madison was there. She lay on the couch, curled slightly on her side, one arm tucked beneath her cheek. The lamp beside her was still on, casting a soft glow across her face. She must have been waiting for me. The realization hit harder than it should have. She had fallen asleep right there.I st

Monica’s dress swayed as she laughed at something Dominic said, her head leaning close to his shoulder.I found myself frozen on the couch, watching them like a statue. A strange mixture of emotions churned inside me. Part of me hated Monica, hated how effortlessly she occupied Dominic’s space. But another part… another part couldn’t help the impossible thoughts that crept into my mind. They look… perfect together.I shook my head, trying to clear the intrusive thought. But my mind betrayed me. I imagined them years from

MADISON'S POV The doorbell rang, sharp and deliberate. I froze mid-step, clutching the napkin I had been holding . My heart thudded in my chest. Dominic’s eyes flicked to the door. “That’ll be her,” he said casually. I swallowed hard. “who?” “Monica,” he replied, voice calm but deliberate. “Stay where you are. Watch.” I blinked. “Watch… what?” He smirked faintly, a little teasing that made my stomach tighten. “Learn. How the world works, Madison.” The door opened, and Monica stepped in. She was stunning, tall, elegant, confident, and every movement measured. Her hair fell perfectly over her shoulders, and her dress hugged her figure just right. She didn’t just enter the room, she claimed it. “Dominic,” she said softly, stepping toward him. Her hand brushed lightly against his arm, just enough to make him glance at her. “It's so nice to see you again hun.” Dominic didn’t pull away. He let her hand linger for a moment, a subtle smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. My stomac

MADISON'S POV I woke up late. I knew it before I even opened my eyes, the light was already too bright, the house too quiet. Dominic’s house didn’t feel like the kind of place where mornings drifted lazily. Everything here felt intentional. My heart started racing as I reached for the clock. Seven forty-two. “Oh no…” I sat up too fast, the sheets sliding down my legs. Panic bloomed in my chest. He hadn’t said what time breakfast was, but something told me late wasn’t acceptable here. I threw the covers aside and swung my feet onto the floor, barely registering what I was wearing. I had gone to bed exhausted, choosing comfort without thinking,I wore a short, soft pyjamas, thin fabric, nothing I’d ever worried about before. A knock came at the door. My breath caught. Another knock followed, closer this time. “Madison.” His voice. Low,Calm, morning deep. My stomach flipped. I crossed the room and opened the door without thinking. Dominic stood there dressed in a black sla
