Chapter 29

When we arrived back at their mansion, we went straight to our room. A sigh of relief escaped my mouth when I didn't bump into any of his family. I still wasn't ready to meet them all. The pressure was getting too high that it was sharpening the stones on my chest. Rollina, his fling or whatsoever insulted me. I was afraid his family would do the same.

I was laying on our huge bed, staring at the white ceiling like it was a nowhere but white hole. Fenris left me alone and I couldn't be more anxious. The room was too big for me and it just felt like the quiet surrounding was succumbing to me.

He told me to sleep as I need it before our fire ritual but my mind was too awake, overthinking scenarios of how could I possibly die in this adventure I got myself in. I never expected I would meet vampires, werewolves, and sorcerers in my whole existence. What more could I possibly witness in the mysterious world I was in?

"Hey, Kira, did you sleep well?" Fenris asked when he finally came back
