Chapter 5

The Limo slowly pulls up before a tall glass and steel residential estate. I expected to see the building where the interview took place but here is a different one, far more beautiful and luxurious than the other.

"He has many houses?" I ask Luke. Immediately this escaped my mouth, I saw how lame the question was. A billionaire CEO can't have only one house! I felt I just needed to speak. Luke responds only with a nod and we return to our previous silence. I'm not a great talker and from the way I see, he isn't one either but both of us were comfortable watching the TV. I attempt to open the door and step out upon its stoppage at the garage but he abruptly opens his side, seeing him walk over to mine, I knew he wanted to assist me.

"Thanks!" I mutter as I step out, at least I haven't lost my manners. He places a nod before his actual you're welcome.

"Mr Cameron would love to see you now!" His tone changes to the most professional, unlike the casual way he talked to my sisters and I, inside the car. For once I realized, this is my boss, not the Adrian who broke my heart and ran away with my money. Here, I would have to showcase the most professional attitude, not quite professional as other jobs, a sexy toned attitude.

"Where is he?"

"Come with me!" Like snaps abruptly.

"What of my luggages?"

"Don't worry about that, someone will come pick it up where you will stay, your room." I swallow hard, I imagine how I'm gonna cope with my new life. Luke guides me towards the first floor to the elevator. He types into the button and it ascends, the short period with us inside the elevator is all silent but the tension arouses upon reaching the floor where I'm gonna meet Adrian.

"Which floor is this?"

"The eighth floor."

"How many floors is this building?"

"Thirteen."

"Wow."

He takes me through a narrow corridor, to an open arena which is all glamor, white and steel. We stop before a glass door, inscribed as Mr Cameron on top. I take a deep breath.

"You may go in!" He gestures to me. I shoot him a doubtful glare, I'm afraid at this moment or should I say pressured, but he gives me a wink. Pushing the door open, I walk in. The room is massive like a presidential hotel suite. This is not a bedroom but an office, a domestic office with few books on the shelves by the sides. A huge desk with two office seats on both sides, he is already on one, the opposite for me. A white flower vase with green flower leaves at strategic points, beautifying the scene. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows give an exquisite view of the exterior, adorned with the tall buildings and an adventurous horizon.

"Good morning sir." I say politely, hate in my chest. How fate could make me address the man I would hit upon meeting, sir is something I really detest but there's nothing I can do.

"Morning. Please call me Adrian."

"No, I may not like to take such liberties sir."

He attempts to argue about this, but I shoot him an obdurate glare. I would never accept this privilege.

"You may have your seat." He gestures to the seat opposite him. I quietly sit with my handbag before me.

"Thanks!"

For a minute, the air gets crowned with an awkward silence. At last, he raises his head up and assesses me with guilty eyes. I sense through his glare that he's bothered about what happened three years ago. I can tell that his conscience pricks him at this moment. That's not what I'm here for, tell me the next move.

"Hmmm," he gives a deep sigh. "Thanks for honoring my appointment, I thought you would never come back if I appointed you upon realizing that it's me who is the employer."

"I know where you're going to, but that's not where we should drive to today. I need money, that's why I'm here." I point out to him the main thing that's driving me to come work here, so he wouldn't think I came here for him or to please him.

"So how have you been, for the past three years?" A nervous expression forms on his face, I smile to myself, shaking my head in disagreement.

"I don't want to talk about my life with you, I think that's not part of my appointment, to talk about my personal life."

"Yeah, I just wanted to know about the person who is gonna be escorting me for some years."

"Sure you can but my professional life like who I worked with and some official stuff like that. And secondly, I don't see myself working with you for more than two years."

His countenance changes, from nervousness to disappointment and frustration. I can bet this is not what he expected, he tries to say something but my attention is no longer on him. I'm scanning through the room, he knows that even if he says something, I wouldn't pay the slightest attention to it inside me though I might look at him.

"This evening, I have a party to attend and I'm going with you by my side. You're starting your work today. Let me show you to your room, but try to be cordial with me like a real girlfriend during the party, be romantic."

"Sure, I know my duty and I will do it. Can't Luke or someone else show me to my room?" He arches his brow. Why are you saying so? "I just mean it's not that important for the position you are."

"Don't worry, I will." Saying this he stands from his seat and walks past me, gesturing to me to follow him. "Your belongings must have been dropped there already. I'll send in the dress, shoes and accessories you're gonna wear for today's events.

"Do you know my size?"

"Have you forgotten that you inputted details of your body while applying for this position?" My mind goes back to this, I totally forgot. "Hope the information is all correct?"

"Yes, they are."

Adrian walks me to my room which is situated just beside his, it qualifies to be an adjoining room. This is a dangerous temptation. He wants it this way so I'll be available for him each time he wants me. No issue! I'm paid for this.

He leaves immediately and shows me around, back to his domestic office. I sense he stays here most of the time or just for formality, in case anyone wants to meet him. As I expected, all my belongings are here. I start arranging them properly, everything is set for me in here, as an expensive suite which it is. My heart glows with joy and I beam with smiles at having to stay in this spacious room with luxurious bed, furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows where I can have a view of the outside world each time I feel like. At some point I felt I had no privacy here until reality hits me, it's not see-through from outside so I have all the privacy I need except for Adrian who I know is gonna fuck the hell out of me.

I sigh, drop to the bed and begin to fiddle with my phone. I got to rest before the party.
