Chapter 15

Author: Liora Z
Aiden's POV

Blinding sunlight stabbed at my eyes.

A soul-splitting agony was still lodged in my bones.

I sucked in a sharp breath. I was in the council hall, sitting on the Alpha’s throne.

"Alpha?" Elder Elias’s voice cut through the haze. "The proposal to send Rhea into Red Fang territory. It just needs your signature."

I froze.

My hands started to shake as I stared at the familiar black folder on the table.

This was it.

The last time, I signed that paper. I sent Rhea to her death.

"No..."

I shot to my feet. My chair shrieked against the floor.

"Alpha?" The elders stared at me, shocked.

Just then, the doors swung open.

It was Rhea.

She wore black combat gear, her body lean and hard—a warrior’s body. Her long hair was pulled back tight, revealing the long, pale line of her neck.

She must have just finished training. Sweat beaded on her temple, and rough bandages were wrapped around her arm.

She was alive.

Warm, breathing, living Rhea.

Rhea's POVSix months later, the silent, sterile penthouse at the top of the Alpha's tower was a distant memory. Now, it was filled with life—and the loud, demanding cries of our pup.I lay exhausted in bed, watching the healer carefully hold two tiny bundles.Twins.A boy and a girl."Congratulations, Luna. Mother and pup are all safe and sound," the healer said with a smile. "Both are very healthy."Aiden stood by the bed, his eyes glistening with tears. He carefully took our daughter, and the little one immediately quieted down."She's so small..." his voice trembled. "So beautiful...""She takes after me," I said with a weak smile."Yes, she does," he said, looking at me tenderly. "Our little princess."Our son slept peacefully in my arms, his tiny hand gripping my finger.Through the bond, I could feel the healthy, powerful life force of both our pup."What are their names?" Rhea's POVA week later, when we returned to the Silver Moon Pack headquarters, the entire pack was waiting for us.Elders, warriors, pack members... everyone was gathered in the main hall. The moment Aiden and I walked in, hand in hand, the crowd fell silent.Aiden stood on the main platform, his voice ringing out. "I have an important announcement."I stood beside him, feeling the curious gazes of our people."First, regarding the Gianna incident," Aiden presented the evidence. "She conspired with our enemies and attempted to murder a warrior of our pack. She has received the punishment she deserved.""Second..." He turned to me, his eyes full of love. "From this day forward, Rhea is not just your General. She is my mate. And she is your one, true Luna."A roar went through the crowd."What? General Rhea is the Alpha's mate?""But before...""Wasn't the Alpha going to marry Gianna?""Quiet!" Aiden's authority silenced them.He looked at the elders. "Does anyone object?"Elder Elias w

Rhea's POVThe ritual began.I felt a warm, powerful energy flowing from Aiden into me.It was his life force, his newly awakened, powerful wolf.Through our bond, our lives merged completely in that moment.I could feel his pain. Every bit of energy he gave me felt like his soul was being torn apart. But he didn't stop. He didn't hesitate."Aiden... that's enough... please, no more..." I said weakly."It's not enough," he gritted out. "Not yet."The flow of energy grew stronger.I could feel the baby inside me greedily absorbing it.But at the same time, I could feel Aiden weakening. His face grew paler, his breathing more ragged."Stop!" I tried to pull away from the machine. "You're going to die!""I won't die," his voice was faint but firm. "We are fated mates."Then, the impossible happened. The one-way torrent of power didn't just stop; it became a current. Energy flowed from him to me, and then from me... back to him, creating a perfect, self-sustaining circuit between us and ou

Just love."I believe you," I whispered. "I finally believe you."A flash of pure joy lit up his eyes. But a moment later, a sharp pain shot through my stomach."Ah—"I doubled over, groaning in agony. The fight, the injuries... it was all too much for my fragile body."Rhea!" "I think something's wrong with the baby..."Aiden's face went white."Healer! Rhea's POV"Impossible..." Gianna's eyes were wide with disbelief. "Your wolf was sealed...""Not anymore," Aiden's voice was low and dangerous. He was completely different now.The powerful Alpha aura radiating from him made everyone in the hall tremble."And now..." he said, stalking toward Gianna, "it's time to settle our accounts."Aiden moved with blinding speed. His awakened wolf had made him ten times stronger. He tore through the remaining enemies with ease. No one could stop him."Retreat! Retreat!" the leader of the traitors screamed. But it was too late.Aiden cut down every last person who had dared to hurt me."No... no..." Gianna's face was bloodless. She turned and ran.But I couldn't let her escape. My body was weak, but my warrior instincts were still sharp. My fingers closed around the hilt of a discarded silver throwing knife. With the last of my strength, I took aim and threw. The blade spun through the air, sinking deep into Gianna's knee with a sickening thud. She

Aiden's POVThere was blood everywhere.Gianna was even more vicious than I'd imagined. She hadn't just allied with Red Fang traitors; she had used forbidden drugs, turning her warriors into a mindless horde that felt no pain."Aiden! Surrender!"Gianna's laughter echoed, amplified by a megaphone."That bitch is already a cripple! If you give me your pack and everything you own, I might consider leaving you a complete corpse!""In your dreams."I spat out a mouthful of blood and swung my blade, cutting down another one of her warriors.Without my wolf's power, this level of fighting was draining me fast. My stamina was plummeting.Just then, a pickup truck smashed through the line of warriors. It was Rhea!"WHO TOLD YOU TO COME HERE?!"My heart stopped.Rhea ignored my roar. She drove with one hand, the other holding the gun I'd given her, taking out enemies near me with precise shots."Less talk!
