Chapter 3

Author: Geese
Lucian had broken free from the handcuffs at some point, or perhaps those things had always been useless on him.

He braced himself above me, his dark gold eyes so deep they were like whirlpools ready to suck my soul in.

"You're quite bold, Vivian." He suddenly spoke, his voice low and husky.

That large hand that had just been bound was now shamelessly gripping my waist, his calloused fingertips rubbing lightly through the fabric.

This reversal left me dazed. My heart was racing wildly, but I refused to back down. I forced myself to stay calm. "Know your place, Lucian. I'm the one who paid for you... Mmph!"

"Is that so?" He chuckled softly, his knee forcefully pushing between my legs. His scorching body heat seared through the thin fabric of my clothes, making me shiver.

"Weren't you the one who threw yourself into my arms just now, Master? But..." His tone shifted as his gaze swept lazily over my hands pinned beneath his weight before settling on my lips.

"Since you're so enthusiastic, I should be on top to serve my master properly."

The air heated up. We were less than two inches apart, our breaths tangling together.

His gaze slid slowly from my eyes down to my lips, then to my neck and collarbones.

That look was too hot. It made my entire body go weak.

My mind started racing. What did he want to do? Kiss me? Maybe he wanted to...

I should have pushed him away. Even if I bought him for $600 million, he was still a dangerous male stranger. However…

The scent of cold cedar was too intoxicating, like a powerful hallucinogen. It made me completely unwilling to refuse.

In fact, my body was secretly anticipating him getting closer.

Lucian slowly lowered his head. I instinctively closed my eyes, my lashes trembling lightly, but the expected kiss never landed on my lips.

He simply buried his head in the crook of my neck and took a greedy breath. His burning exhale sprayed across my skin, triggering waves of shivers.

"Vivian..." He murmured in a low voice, filled with grievance and long-suppressed desire.

"You smell so good..."

The domineering yet gentle scent of cold cedar filled my mind. I had been completely caught up in the moment, but suddenly, my eyelids grew too heavy to lift.

Years of family power struggles and high-pressure work had given me severe insomnia. It had been so long since I could feel drowsy without sleeping pills.

However, in the arms of this dangerous werewolf I had just met, I felt an unprecedented sense of security. I felt like a ship that had drifted for ages, finally returning to harbor.

"You can only... Hold me for a bit..." I pushed at him groggily, my voice growing softer. "If you dare try anything... I'll turn you into a stew..."

The next second, I was completely knocked out. Lucian maintained his position with his head buried in my neck, his entire body frozen.

He listened to the steady breathing by his ear, completely dumbfounded.

She… fell asleep? At a time like this? In the arms of a hot-blooded, ready-to-go adult male like him?

She actually used him as a body pillow and fell asleep?

"Ha!" He laughed helplessly as he looked at the woman sleeping so defenselessly beneath him.

"You really don't see me as a wolf at all."

He resignedly propped himself up to go take a cold shower in the bathroom, but the moment he moved, the woman who had been dead asleep suddenly wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Don't go..." Like a cat guarding its food, she pressed her entire body against him. She nuzzled her face against his burning chest, found a more comfortable position, and continued sleeping.

Lucian froze in place. How the hell was he supposed to leave now?

As he looked at the defenseless sleeping face in his arms, the possessiveness and adoration in his eyes finally transformed into a reverent kiss on her forehead.

"You were the one who provoked me first, Vivian. Now that I've caught you, don't expect me to let go for the rest of this lifetime."

He stretched out his long arms and tightly wrapped her in the blanket with him, leaving no gap whatsoever.

At that moment, Lucas, who had been preparing to climb through the window to rescue his Alpha King, slipped and crashed into the bushes below with a thud.

It was over.

The Alpha King, who could kill without batting an eye, had sold himself off so cheaply to a human who used him as a sleep-aiding body pillow!

One year later, I did not become a protected Luna Queen. Instead, I returned to the family business, purged the corruption, and expanded the Sterling Group's territory twofold.Lucian gave me absolute freedom. However, the only price was that I had to fly back on a private jet every month to help him ‘put out fires’.Afterwards, to maintain my dignity as an ‘independent woman’, I would insist on paying him a large sum of money, then pull up my pants and run while he was still basking in the afterglow.I figured he had to be the most frustrated Alpha King in history. Every month, Lucas would look at the enormous deposits in the account and sigh."Alpha King, your net worth has increased again."Lucian would reply, "Get lost."...Today was Lucian's birthday and the Shadowfang kingdom's grand annual celebration. In the palace, Lucian sat on the throne in a black military dress uniform, his expression cold. The wolves below whispered among themselves."I heard that the Sterling

When I woke, the reassuring scent of cold cedar filled my nose.Outside the window stretched endless snowy mountains. This was the northern wolf territory.Lucian was slumped at the bedside, gripping my hand tightly, his brow furrowed as if terrified I might disappear.I moved my fingers slightly, and he immediately jolted awake, his bloodshot eyes checking me over. "Vivian! Are you hurt anywhere?"Seeing the imposing Alpha King act like a panicked child made my heart soften. I shook my head.Lucas pushed the door open and handed over a tablet. The news headline was shocking. [All Core Members of the Crawford Family Arrested.]In the twenty-four hours I had been unconscious, Lucian had acted decisively. To protect himself, Mr. Hayes had turned over evidence of the Crawford family's tax evasion and bribery.Through expedited proceedings, Austin was sentenced to life imprisonment, and his accomplices were purged across all industries. As for the Sterling family, Lucian had inje

"Mr. Mitchell! Mr. Hayes! Save me! This thug brought a private army to stage a rebellion!" Austin looked at them like they were his saviors.Mr. Mitchell, who usually considered Austin a brother, rushed forward and backhanded him across the face."Shut up! Are you trying to get us killed?"Mr. Mitchell was not satisfied after the slap and continued to kick Austin over viciously. Then, he turned and dropped to his knees before Lucian with a thud."Alpha King! This is a misunderstanding! We had no idea this idiot offended your Luna Queen! We have nothing to do with him!"Mr. Hayes was not to be outdone, nodding and bowing obsequiously."Yes, yes! Your Majesty, just say the word, and I can have evidence of the Crawford family's tax evasion and commercial bribery delivered immediately! I guarantee he'll rot in prison for life!"Austin was completely stunned. He clutched his swelling face, staring in disbelief at these two powerful figures now groveling like lapdogs before the were

A dozen black figures rappelled down ropes and burst into the room."Don't move! Get down!"Austin's elite bodyguards were taken down before they even saw what hit them. Their joints were wrenched, and bodies were slammed to the floor."Let go of me! Who the hell are you? This is illegal! You can't just barge in here!" Austin screamed as he was pressed against the shattered glass."Oh my God! Look at the insignia on their chests!"A reporter in the corner suddenly shrieked. "The silver wolf head... That's the personal guard of Shadowfang kingdom's Alpha King! The legendary Gamma special forces!"The Alpha King? That supreme leader came in person? Could his fated mate be here?"Before everyone could process this earth-shattering news, all the Gamma warriors simultaneously dropped to one knee, right fists pressed to their hearts, heads bowed toward the window."We welcome the Alpha King!"The helicopter cabin door opened. A tall, imposing figure stepped in against the backlight.

The city's entire airspace has now been taken over by the kingdom's air force!"According to inside sources, this military action is not an invasion but rather a personal trip by the Alpha King, who has never made a public appearance. "It's you, Vivian."My heart skipped a beat. For a moment, I almost believed him, but rationality quickly returned. There were billions of people in the world. How could it possibly be that coincidental? How could a pet I casually bought at an auction house for entertainment just happen to be my destined love?I was more willing to believe this was a clever wolf spinning sweet words to please his benefactor."Lucian." I smiled and patted his face. "You're too good at sweet talk."But don't worry. As long as you behave, I won't return you."The light in Lucian's eyes instantly died. "You don't believe me.""It's not that I don't believe you, it's just..."Ring! Ring!
