I blinked my eyes, too shocked since Kenneth admitted it. Was it all about that? Sex? “But—”

“Look, Helena, what happened between us is nice, but it’s time to end it.”

I caught Kenneth’s hand and shook my head. “No! We can fix it! Please give me more chances.” I was to shocked to hear what he said. How could he say that?

“Helena, do you want to sleep with me?” Kenneth asked.

I couldn’t say anything. After a while, I shook my head. “I-I can’t.” I stammered

“Can’t or won’t?”

“I ….”

“Then there’s no other way than to end this. Goodbye, Helena.”

Kenneth walked away, but I grabbed his hand. “Please, don’t do this to me, to us.”

“There is no us anymore. I only had fun with you.”

“You lie!” I gripped his hand and didn't want to let it go because if I did, he would no longer be mine.

“No, I don’t!”

“Ken! Why are you so mean to me?” My tears were flowing down my cheeks. “I love you ….”

“I’m sorry, babe, but I don’t.”

Kenneth pulled his hand harder, but I gripped it, and when he used full strength to pull his hand while I pulled in the opposite direction, my body was suddenly thrown to the barrier fence. Unfortunately, the barrier had a gap there. My body went straight through the opening, fell over the bridge, and went directly to the Moon River below.

I was gasping and moving my hands to get some air. “Help! I can’t swim! Ken, help me!”

Kenneth screamed, “Oh, no! Helena! I can’t swim either! What can I do?”

I saw a woman drown, and the guy on the bridge only saw that and did nothing. He said he couldn’t swim. Though he couldn’t swim, at least he should do something to save her. What a coward!

I removed my shirt immediately, threw it to the floor, then jumped straight to the Moon River. Then I swam right through the woman, swept away already by the current. Since the water flow was strong, her body was almost drowning. Fortunately, the Moon River’s water was clean, so I could see her better. I swam faster and finally caught her on time. Unfortunately, she drank a lot of water and couldn’t breathe.

“I got you!” I said, then swam to the riverside and pulled her body. She was unconscious, and her face was pale. I patted her chest. “Breathe!”

Since she didn’t react, I patted her back too. There was no movement at all, so I did CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to save her. First, I placed my hands interlocked on her chest, then pressed her chest. Later, I opened her mouth and breathed into it. I smelled her fragrance.

The wolf inside me screamed loudly in my mind, “Mate!”

I should have recognized her as my mate faster if I weren’t worried about her safety. Also, the river’s water wrapped her body, and the smell covered it well.

“Come on! Breathe! I won’t let you die like this, mate.”

She remained on the ground, unmoving. So, I continued doing CPR. When I opened her mouth again and breathed into her mouth, she weakly opened her eyes. Finally, she choked, letting out some swallowed water.

“Finally!” I closed my eyes and shook my head as I immediately felt something different when I stared at Helena’s face. My heartbeat was so fast since I knew it was the first time I had met my mate. A jolt in my heart was new. I had never felt it before.

When the woman opened her eyes, she coughed a few times. Then she stared at me, blushing to see my sturdy body with six-pack abs in front of her. Later, she widened her eyes and reached out her hand. “Thank you for saving me.”

I could hear her heartbeat racing, and she couldn’t look away. She wondered why she felt so different about me, the man she had just met. Her mind also said I might be his future spouse.

“Don’t think about that!” I said.

She gasped, too shocked with my tone. “What do you mean? Don’t think about what?”

I sighed as I realized how harsh my tone was. “Never mind. Forget it. What’s your name?”

“Helena Starr. What’s your name?”

“Ethan Cross.”

“Ethan,” Helena repeated my name. “Suitable name for a strong man like you.”

“Thank you.” I raised my hand, wanting to stroke Helena’s hair, but I stopped midway. “Are you alright now?”

“I’m okay.” But when Helena stood, she winced. “Aw!”

“What’s wrong?”

“My feet and waist are in pain. I hit the barrier fence before falling into the river.” Helena lowered her stare and endured the pain. “Don’t worry. I’ll call my mother, and she’ll pick me up.”

I scooped Helena into my arms as if I only carried a lightweight thing. She was too skinny. “No need. Let me tend to you first. My place isn’t too far from here.”

Helena stared at me, and I couldn’t help but smile because I could read her mind. Helena liked me and thought I was such a handsome guy. Yet she hid other thoughts about me.

“What?”

“Nothing.” Helena blushed and sighed.

Though Helena wasn’t a short woman at approximately 5’7”, my 6’3” height made her tiny in my arms. When I reread her mind, she thought how nice my body was and wanted to touch me. I took a deep breath. “Stop it!”

Helena raised her head to meet my hot stares. “Did I say something?”

“No, but your eyes said what’s inside your head.” I sighed. I could read Helena’s mind since I was her mate and a werewolf. We could read our mates and connected with each other’s mind.

“Oh? What was I thinking back then?”

I sighed and shook my head. “Are you sure you want me to say it out loud?”

“You don’t have to say it aloud, but you can whisper it in my ear.”

So I did what she asked. I whispered in her ear, “You want me, don’t you?”

She gasped because of my direct statement. “What?!”

I woke up feeling weird since there was something unusual. I turned my body, but a firm hand wrapped around my stomach. It tickled my waist and then moved downward. I opened my eyes only to see Ethan grin. “Good morning, love. How are your feelings right now?” he asked. “Good morning, love. I feel weird.” “Weird?” He wrinkled his forehead. “Ache?” “A bit, but I don’t know. I feel something else.” He kissed my lips and whispered, “Maybe I can cure you by pouring my seeds again. What do you think?” I giggled and nodded. “Yes, sir. I love it when you poured your seeds. Give me more, please?” “Yes, madam, right away.” Ethan then, without warning, touched my womanhood. “You are already ready, darling.” He then pushed his manhood inside and touched until I moaned. “Don’t stop!” “Yes, ma’am.” He grinned, but then he concentrated on giving me pleasure by pounding hard into me. I tightened my legs around his waist and clenched my womanhood until it squeezed his shaft. He growle

We hugged and shook hands with everyone. Then my mom approached me and said, “Now, I will leave. Ethan, Helena, please visit me frequently.” She smiled but then burst into tears. “I’ve missed you already, sweetheart.” I kissed my mom’s cheek. “Mom, I promise to visit you often until you may be bored with me.” She laughed and shook her head. “No chance I will be bored of you, sweetie. I’ll love to see you around. Take care.” Ethan hugged my mom. “Mom, thank you for coming. Let Red send you home.” “Yes, Son. Thank you.” Later, Red came and nodded at Ethan and me. “Congratulations! Enjoy your wedding night. I’ll try to have everyone leave the villa soon.” Ethan and Red exchanged a knowing look and grin, then Ethan nodded. “Thanks, Red. I know I can always count on you.” “Always!” Then he nodded at my mom. “Mrs. Ross, shall we go now?” Then I hugged Stacy. “Thank you for coming and being my bride’s maid.” “I’m so happy for you.” Then she shook hands with Ethan too, but Ethan

Red drove the car to the villa. It was crowded, so it took time to get there. Then Red opened the door for my mother and me. When I stood to see the villa. It stunned me to see how beautiful the villa was. Colorful roses decorated the path to the door. The rose fragrance filled the air. Later, Stacy opened the door. She wore a white dress too. “Oh, Helena! Look at you! You are gorgeous!” she shouted. I smiled. “So are you! Did you buy it for my wedding?” She nodded. “Yes, because you know me. I can’t stand last-minute shopping. Now, I’m glad I bought it. How about you?” “It’s my mom’s doing.” I glanced at my mother. “She bought it for me as a wedding present. Who would guess it came at the perfect time? So I can wear it tonight.” “Oh, Freya, it’s a lovely dress indeed!” Stacy said. My mother smiled and hugged Stacy. “Thank you for coming tonight.” “I won’t miss Helena’s wedding. I’m her bride’s maid.” Then someone coughed. When we turned around, Ethan stood and then waited f

My mother pulled my hand, and we went to her room. She opened the cupboard and took two beautiful white dresses. “Please try these, sweetie. I hope you wear the dress for your wedding tonight if you find anything you like.” I burst into tears since both dresses were gorgeous. “Oh, Mom! How can you have such beautiful dresses?” “When I told you about the three months of waiting, I bought them. Since I thought maybe I could give them as a wedding present for you.” “It’s perfect! I can’t think of a better dress than these two.” I wept and laughed. My mom was amazing! How could she do this for me? “Don’t cry! We have no time to prepare you to be a breathtaking bride. So smile!” I giggled and wiped my tears. “Yes, Mom.” Then I tried the first dress that had laces and sparkles. The dress fitted my body well. Later, I showed it to my mom. She nodded. “Try the second one.” When I wore the second dress, I knew it was perfect. The dress was simple with a few ruffles on the short arms

Ethan stood and then held my hand. “Yes, I think the purpose of this meeting is fulfilled. Oh, okay, the explanation of Constantine and Victoria’s death. It was an accident. I had never intended to kill Constantine. No matter what, he was my half-brother.” I nodded and supported Ethan by telling what happened. “About the death of Victoria, she died because she tried to protect Constantine. It’s because of love.” I took a deep breath. “At that time, Constantine attacked Ethan when he had already said, ‘Time-out.’ Then I pushed Ethan and instinctively attacked Constantine with the fog. Victoria ran and shielded Constantine.” I bit my lower lip, recalling the moment Victoria died. “Then when Constantine tried to stab my back. Ethan protected me and stabbed Constantine in the process.” I looked around. “It’s a self-defense.” The Elders didn’t say anything afterward. “Soif you all are worried about revenge or attack from the Fire Shadow Pack or the vampires, please know we are not the o

~ Ethan ~ We walked outside the castle, and I teleported us back to my villa. I kissed Helena’s lips and said, “I am sorry.” “For what?” “I should protect you, but I wasn’t there for you.” She shook her head. “No, don’t blame yourself. I have many things I wanted to tell you.” “Oh?” But then, I remembered Freya. “You need to call your mother now. She must be worried.” “Yes, you are right.” But then, Helena glanced at me. “Oh, my phone is still at the castle.” I nodded. “I’ll ask Red to take it. Where is it?” “The last time the maid brought it to me.” “Okay.” Then I opened the mind link. ‘Red, are you still in the castle?’ ‘Yes, Alpha. Why?’ ‘Can you bring Helena’s phone back here—the villa?’ ‘Sure!’ ‘Thanks, Red.’ ‘Anytime, Alpha.’ Then I stroked Helena’s hair. “Red will bring your phone here. Use my phone to call your mother instead of waiting for Red. He may need a while. Freya was nearly hysterical when she called me.” She nodded. “Yes, please.” I picked up my ph
