The Alpha King's Breeder

The trip to my new home was very quiet and awkward. Lucian tried hard not to make any eye contact with me or even start a conversation, but I could see the guilt written all over his face. It seems like today didn’t turn out the way he expected. I had so many questions but I knew that now wasn’t the time for it, but what if I never got another chance?

We arrived at our supposed destination in the evening. As I stepped out of the carriage, I was awestruck by the grandeur of the Alpha King's castle. The massive structure looms before me, with towering spires and walls made of dark stone. The entrance is guarded by two enormous werewolves, their eyes glowing with a fierce intensity.

Lucian handed me over to a maid on arrival and watched us walk in, with me feeling scared and lost. As I was led through the castle gates, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding. The interior of the castle is no less impressive than its exterior, with sweeping staircases and ornate tapestries adorning the walls. I followed the maid through a maze of corridors and antechambers, all the while feeling increasingly anxious.

We finally arrived at a quiet dimly lit room which I could tell immediately was a dining room. “Please wait here, the King will meet with you shortly.” The maid said to me as she turned to leave.

I quickly turned to the door but my eyes caught sight of a tall and huge looking guard, there was no way he was letting me out of here, so I immediately killed the thought of running. That man could break me in two before I made it past that door.

I turned back to the dining table and my mouth watered, my eyes widening. I had never seen that much food in my life, some of them even strange to me. Why was there so much food on the table? Perhaps the entire Kingdom comes to feed here in the royal castle.

“Welcome Amelia, please have a seat.” A voice from behind took me unawares.

My heart flipped as I quickly turned around to face him, but then my jaws dropped. I immediately guessed that he was the King; a tall and muscular middle aged man, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. His sharp jawline and proud bearing was something not difficult to notice.

The King was dressed in a black robe with red designs as he approached me. I took a few steps back in fear but he didn’t come any closer, he headed straight for the seat on the short end of the table and sat down.

“Come on, eat with me.” He said with a smile and pointed to the food on the table.

I was confused, maybe a little disappointed and scared. I expected the Alpha King to be this mean and commanding man. I had prepared how to put up a fight against him but he didn’t look like he wanted a fight. Why was he soft and kind? How am I supposed to fight if he is being all smiley face with me?

As much as I didn’t feel safe, I was starving. To worsen it, the food on the table looked sumptuous, the aroma alone was more than inviting. King Darius really knew how to play this temptation game.

“Come on now, don’t be stubborn. You have been on the road for hours, I am sure that you are starving. Come sit with me and eat…” he offered again.

I had a feeling that he wouldn’t ask nicely again, even with his gentle voice. I just wanted to be persuaded, so it doesn’t look like I enjoy being here.

“Why am I here? What do you want with me?” I finally found my first words.

He waved his head and smiled. “Stubborn, just like your mother.” He chuckled.

“My mother?” I muttered immediately, I was officially interested in whatever he had to say. “You know my mother?” I asked, to be sure that I heard right.

He nodded with a smile. “Come now, sit with me, eat some food and we can talk more.”

I hesitated for a few seconds more to satisfy my pride and then I slowly walked to one of the chairs, very distant from his position. A maid approached us immediately and began to dish my food, I had no idea when or how she had been summoned.

The maid dished me some beef or whatever meat that was. How does she know I was not a vegetarian, being a werewolf doesn’t automatically make me carnivorous, what if I don’t eat meat?

“You are a she-wolf, all wolves are carnivorous.” King Darius muttered coldly.

I froze and looked up at him. How did he know what I was thinking?

“Because I can read your mind dear, at least when you leave it open like that, but don’t worry… I would respect your privacy henceforth.” He chuckled.

I swallowed hard, shocked by the discovery. So my thoughts weren’t even safe around him, how do I know he would keep to his words and keep his Alpha shtick out of my head?

The food was served and I couldn’t help but throw myself at it. Not only was I starving from not eating the whole day, but the food was just too good. I tried hard to be modest but I feared that the chicken laps would go missing anytime, so I feasted on it like an animal, stuffing my mouth and pushing it down my throat. I had never tasted chicken before, let alone have a full one to myself.

“Easy, you don’t want to choke on it.” He smiled.

I felt ashamed immediately and looked away, slowly sucking my fingers for the sauce. “So how do you know my mother? And what do you want from me?” I queried.

He smiled. “You are clearly impatient, so I will tell you. Your father was a special kind of wolf, and he used to sit on these thrones, with your mother by his side.” He announced.

I think the meat might have actually stuck in my throat this time as I froze and then coughed hard. My hand quickly reached for the water jar as I flushed down the particles in my throat. My eyes were red but that didn’t bother me.

“Sorry, what did you say?” I asked, just to be sure that I heard right.

“Yes, Princess Amelia. Your father used to be the King many years ago, he was married to your mother but then he died in battle, the Kingdom turned its loyalty away from your mother and she fled with you, not to be seen until lately when I found you.”

“No,” I chuckled. “That can't be right, my mother was no queen…” I added in a whisper.

“You don’t remember, because she locked away those memories to protect you. but I can help you remember everything, only if you let me.” He said softly, staring at me.

I didn’t believe a word he said; I mean… it is not possible, right? I am a princess? no freaking way! There is nothing special about me; I am just poor wolfless Amelia.

“How… How are you going to do that?” I muttered, wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt. At least he would confirm that he was wrong and maybe I will be on my way back to my miserable existence first thing tomorrow morning.

He closed his eyes and placed his hands on the table, I suddenly felt a humming vibration in my head and then it all came flowing back. I froze, overwhelmed by the memories that flooded into my head. I remembered this very dining room, playing here as a child, I remembered my mother, she was pretty and my father loved her with all he had. My whole life was a lie, why would my mother do this to me?

I felt tears trickle down my eyes and I quickly wiped it.

“I am sorry I had to unlock all that, your mother kept it away for good reason, I believe.” He apologized.

I gulped, not wanting to look weak. “It is fine. But then, how is any of this connected to you? obviously you didn’t bring me here to take back my position as the rightful heir of this Kingdom.” I chuckled, wiping my face again.

He smiled. “Sorry, your identity as Princess died with your parents. There have been two other Kings after them and they died as well. I realized that if I didn’t want to follow suit, then I needed a powerful heir to secure the throne. That is where you come in, Amelia.”

I creased my brows, confused with his words. “Sorry… what?” I muttered.

“You asked why I bought you? well, Amelia… I have purchased you as a breeder, I believe you have inherited some special genes from your father which can only be activated in a male son, so I want you to bore me an heir, I want you to make me a powerful baby and help me secure my throne.” He announced.

There was silence between us and then I burst into laughter, trying not to bury my face in the dish. The irony of it all! From a maltreated lost orphan Princess to a Breeder for the Alpha King.

“You are sick in the head, if you think you can turn me into a breeding machine for power and wealth. Even if what you say about me is true, I would never mate with you, let alone bear you pups, so you better get that straight.”

“Yes you will, Amelia. Please don’t make this difficult for us, I will give you all the time you need to think about it. The maids here would show you to your new room when you're done eating.” He replied calmly as he stood up, wiping his mouth with a towel.

“What? No!” I yelled. “I want to go back now! Send me back!”

“To your stepfather who didn’t hesitate to sell you off? I don’t think so. Begin to get used to these corridors and castle walls, it is your new home now, and like I said… you will get all the time that you need.” He muttered and walked away.

I sat there in shock. What the hell just happened? I had been purchased like a stock, to be nothing more than a Breeding machine for an Alpha King? I would never submit to such a condition, what does he think of himself?
