Chapter 30

Hazel walked through the dark corridor, heading to the garden. Her eyes were calm and void of any emotions. She held the lantern in her hand tightly, her lips curling into a small smile.

She reached the garden and placed the lantern under the tree. She took a step forward followed by another.

There was a secret door not far from the tree, she pushed open the door taking a step in. She only knew this place existed thanks to Vivian. How she knew was something she had no idea of but it was a place she fell in love with after coming there for the first time. The silence and its beauty was something she couldn't help but be attracted to. It was peaceful and that was exactly what she needed. A place far away from the real world, she was tired and recently she felt lonely.

She stood beside the river, looking down. For a moment, she missed her home and she wished she could go back. She knew too well her mother wouldn't be nice enough to return her tail back to her. But maybe she could plead
