Kyren’s Pov

“Why do you look like you are about to kill?” Dominic muttered, leaning against the door with his hands in his pockets.

I glared at his reflection through the mirror angry at the way he looked put together while I stood here struggling to fucking wear a damn cufflink.

Whoever invented these things needed to be hung, because why would someone think that these little contraptions should make such a big deal in a man’s attire? I stifled a growl, holding myself back from ripping off the million-dollar suit I had ordered.

Tonight, was already starting off on a wrong foot and I could feel the threads of anger surging through me. Not only had Noah flaunted every direct order that I had given him, but he had acted like we were long-lost friends.

Now thinking about it, I should have put up a fight, maybe commanded the council of elders to send in someone else. But even as the thought crossed my mind, I knew that it wouldn’t suffice. If he was working with rogues and dealing in illegal things I needed to be on the ground, needed to be the one to see it firsthand.

“You know the world won’t end if you decide not to wear the cufflinks,” Dominic muttered, reminding me of his presence.

“The fucking media will be there and the last time we had taken your advice there was a whole segment on their show dedicated to analysing the things that I did and how unregaled I dressed to functions” I hissed.

He sniggered, “That was two years ago, and well…” he paused, his eyes meeting mine. “Fine, I will help, but you better make sure that you compensate me greatly,”

I rolled my eyes at his antics, I could tolerate his words, mainly because Dominic wasn’t just my right-hand man, he was my best friend. “What is that?” I asked, pointing to the file he had dropped on the table.

“The team brought back something on Noah, his wife, apparently the bastard has been married for two years now,” he huffed.

Two years? That sounded… why the hell did I care if he was married? For all I know, she might just be as dangerous as he is.

“Let me see…”

“You don’t have the time, the party is in less than an hour and we are already behind time,”

I huffed. Noah was really pushing it, the press, the party and then the fucking speech?

“Let’s get this over with, the faster we do this, the earlier I can get home,” I hissed.

Dominic shook his head, “You make it sound like it is a torture chamber you are heading to,”

I cocked my eyebrows, “Isn’t it?”

The drive was quiet, mainly because my mind was still stuck on the fact that Noah was a married man, who would be so desperate to stay with someone as thieving and horrible as him. The sound of cheers and bright light flickering snapped me back to reality.

“We are here,” Dominic muttered, his hand slapping my shoulder.

Fucking bastard, the public light has never bothered him.

Noah stood in front with a fucking bright smile on his face, I couldn’t help but imagine what it would feel like to punch those teeth out. The thought brought a wide smile to my face.

“Careful now, I can hear your murderous thoughts,” Dominic teased.

“If I need to survive this, I am going to have to sink into those comforting thoughts,” I growled.

“Alpha King Kyren, welcome to the Silver Fang pack,” he greeted, his hands stretched out for a handshake. “I know the last time we met was at the council meeting about two years ago, you were…”

Does he ever shut up? How proud is he of his fucking voice? Because in my ears they sounded like nails scratching on a damn chalkboard.

“My wife had made sure she planned this just as I had ordered,” he said in a proud tone, his hands pointing out to the decorations.

And he is a conceited asshole.

“Erm,” Dominic coughed, his subtle way of telling me I needed to speak rather than look around the room with a bored look on my face.

Just as I was about to comment on the display, my eyes landed on the most porcelain skin I have ever seen. But that wasn’t what caught my attention, it was the way the dress stuck to her, the slit made my imaginations run wild.

She was ethereal.

“Allow me to introduce you to my lovely wife, Azelea…”

Wife? She couldn’t be the one married to this crook?

“Your highness, welcome to our pack, I am sorry for my tardiness, I had to…”

“Thank you for taking your time to do this… this is a fantastic job that you have done,”

He frowned, he fucking frowned because I had complimented his wife. Somehow a dark shady part of me liked it. And the way she blushed, I loved it even more.

“Would you like to give a speech now? the people have been waiting to hear from you,” noah said, his tone matching the displeasure on his face.

No.

“Maybe later, I would like to hear more about the things that you have done,” I said to his wife.

If I was going to endure this, I needed to find something that would keep my mind off reaching out and clawing out his throat.

She smiled, an ethereal look that had me mesmerised, she looked like the moon goddess, her voice soft like a damn siren. I could be trapped in her web, I wouldn’t care.

The music started, just as a few dignitaries graced the dance floor, Dominic was somewhere in the crowd, obviously being the social butterfly. I shouldn’t do this. But the tug that I felt at the back of my mind couldn’t stop me.

“Would you join me on the dancefloor?”

Her eyes flickered towards her husband, I held back from growling at him. But just as I thought she wouldn’t, something flashed through her eyes, a defiance, the look of revenge you would only see on a scorned woman.

I was intrigued.

Her gloved hand touched mine, her dazzling smile blinding, “With pleasure your highness.”

Kyren’s Pov“You shouldn’t have walked away like that,” Dominic said behind me as we made it into the office.“What?” I asked, walking toward the minibar as I poured myself a drink. The burn felt soothing as it flowed down my throat, through my chest. I closed my eyes, allowing the burn to cut through me.It was relaxing, but not as relaxing as I needed.“You walked away, you didn’t…”I had to leave, the thing was, if I didn’t leave, I was only a few minutes away from lunging at Emma, hurting her for making Azelea hurt. That was dangerous, the training isn’t just for Azelea, it was also for me, I needed to fight myself to be okay with watching as she received punches without losing my cool.“Dominic, if I didn’t leave…. If I stood there for a second too long, I would have been after Emma's head,” I said in a low tone, settling in on the chair as I closed my eyes.He sighed, “Truthfully, you lasted longer than I thought you would,” he said.I frowned, “What are you talking about?”“Let

Azelea’s PovPain surprisingly had a sound.I learnt that in the number of times that my back has touched the ground in the past fifteen minutes. It wasn’t loud or unexpected. I could feel it in the whoosh feeling when my feet are knocked off from under me.The humph when the air leaves my lungs. The ringing in my ears as my head crashes hard against the cold hard floor. Then there was the dust that clung to my skin, mocking me for not being able to stand firm and defend myself.“Again!” Kyren’s voice echoed through the plain. It wasn’t a bark. There was no anger in his tone, no shouting.Just his firm voice that led me through the darkness that had cloaked my eyes. The first few times it happened, I had panicked, my heart felt like it was about to rip through my chest the blur happened. But when I blinked, turns out you can get partially blind when you get a fist to the face. “No more,” I whispered., my voice strained as I tried to stand up.“You won’t get the chance to say that

Author’s povCaliste didn’t plan on stepping out. But she also knew how much it would help for the people to see her. She was here in Kyren’s pack, the least she could do was grace the people with her presence. Her door rattled with urgency, a frown formed on her face as she tried to think of who would be knocking at such an hour. It was too early to step out and too chilly to be friendly.“Caliste?” a voice called out. It was Lena, she knew that. If Lena was here that meant the other girls were also behind her.She thought about ignoring them until they were tired and left. But she knew Lena wouldn’t give up easily. And there was also the fact that Lena wouldn’t be knocking unless she had vital information. Curiosity made her jump out of bed as she rushed to the door.“HI, girls. Did we have plans of meeting today?” she asked, feigning confusion.Lena rolled her eyes, “Are you going to let us in, or do we have to book an appointment?” she said in a snarky tone.Caliste knew better th

Kyren’s PovThe elder’s council was full. It was obvious that they were all expecting me.“Alpha king, it is a pleasure to have you join us,” the high chief said.Is it?But I wouldn’t give them that pleasure. They didn’t deserve a reaction from me. Dominic was seated in the corner his eyes on me, I could tell he was trying to read my mind, to know what I was planning to do.For a minute, I hated the fact that our conversation had been abrupt.“I believe the pleasure is mine,” I said in a gruff tone, settling into my chair as I stared at them.Elder Ming stood to his feet, “The alphas meeting is in two days, I believe that we should talk about what is more important first,” he said, sounding too eager for my liking. The high chief sighed, what was his play? Acting like he was against this, while being the master mind behind the scenes?“What is important,” I said in a calm and collected tone.He frowned; he wasn’t having me in the way he had imagined. “Alpha king, we know the rules a

Author’s PovZara had that dark look in her eyes. The more she stared at the picture, the more she felt the anger raging through her veins. It had all been her fault. She had been stupid and naïve to think that helping Azelea was going to buy her forgiveness. It didn’t.All it earned her was despair and sorrow. Her mind wandered back to the scene in the office, the fact that Noah had made it obvious that she was under the table, giving him a freaking blowjob while he talked to Alpha Zane. That wasn’t bad enough, things had gotten degrading the minute they talked about her as if she wasn’t in the same place with them.“I hate you… you caused this,” she hissed at the picture. She had a freaking secret, one that would end her if she tried to say anything. She had been the one to help Azelea. She had been so hungry to fix her mistake that she had helped with the divorce paperwork signing. And now, she was trapped in this life, while Azelea was there in silver fang pack living her best li

  • The Alpha King’s Broken Luna   Chapter 54

Azelea’s PovI couldn’t believe it, couldn't even think through what I had just said. Kyren stared at me with wide eyes, I could see the conflict in his eyes. He didn’t think I could do this.“Azelea, you are fighting the female head warrior, Agnes is a mean fighter… I can’t….” He paused, running his hand through his hair in frustration.I tried not to let it show that I was bothered by the way he clearly didn’t believe in me. I couldn’t hold it against him, not with the way he had that worried expression on his face.“Then you train me; I believe I can do this…”He sighed, a long loud sound that echoed through the room, my argument wasn’t helping. I wasn’t making it easy on him. “Azelea, you want to use three days of training to fight someone who has spent her whole life fighting?” he asked.I didn’t say I was going to be great, but I just needed to know enough techniques that would make me last a while until the bell is rung.“I am not saying I will kill her or just be the best in t
