LOGINDELILIAH
"O-Over his dead body?" My heart raced as I processed his words. Did he really just say, "Over his fucking dead body?" Fury flared in my chest, scorching and oppressive as I fixed him with a sharp glare. Three long years had passed since he fled the pack, abandoning me to face the disgust and humiliation of the past, but now he dared to saunter back in just because he now wore a crown? From the moment he entered the Vycrlaw Pack, he had unleashed chaos, offering no explanations or apologies for the heartbreak he caused in the past. But now, as if it were no big deal, he expected me to accept this sudden proclamation of wanting me as his mate? I’d rather return to the moon goddess than accept that fate. "Fine," I declared, my voice slicing through the night air, as cold as ice. "Then you leave me no choice." As soon as I said those words, I cast one more glance at the moon before reaching deep within myself and tapping into my powers thrumming in my veins. Silver light bled into my veins, ancient and holy, and the mark on my skin burned. The power stretched within me, ancient and unfamiliar, one that I rarely used because it was something that every wolf feared. It was the reason why every wolf in my pack looked with reverence, but my alpha and his elders regarded me with wariness. It was the power of the Moon Chosen. "Submit, Viktor Volvov," I said, my voice filled with something older than time. "Denounce your ridiculous vow and plead for forgiveness from the moon goddess before it's too late." The energy surged outward, heavy and suffocating, enveloping him like a dark fog. It pressed against his chest like an invisible hand, forcing the ground to crack beneath his boots. Several howls filled the forest, responding to the weight of my power that demanded obedience from every living wolf. But Viktor only staggered once. His jaw clenched, muscles rippling under his skin as he wrestled against the compulsion. I could feel his wolf slam against mine, his raw dominance battling with my sacred authority. Seeing the defiance blazing in his eyes, I pulled more power from within because I was determined to win this battle. "You will regret this, Delilah," Viktor growled, his strained voice promising retribution that I knew he would fulfill. "You'd better stop this nonsense. You have no idea what you're doing." "No, you're the one who doesn't know what you're doing!" I snapped,, my voice trembling with fury. "I would rather die a thousand pieces than forsake my vow to the moon goddess. This means that I will never mate with you. Even if you're on the verge of death." For the first time in the night, Viktor's stoic expression cracked with pain and anger. "Tell me why you're doing this," he snarled, his eyes burning into mine. "What has the moon goddess ever done for you to make you pledge such loyalty?" My expression morphed into disbelief as I stared at him. How dare he ask me such a question after everything I'd endured? “She earned my loyalty the moment she didn’t abandon me,” I declared, my voice hard as stone, unwavering and fierce. “When you left me to rot in shame, she lifted me from the abyss. She bestowed upon me the strength to rise, becoming the second most powerful woman in the pack.” I straightened, the silver light illuminating the darkness that surrounded us. “She made me the High Priestess of the Vyrclaw Pack.” The next morning, I went straight to the alpha's mansion after receiving his summons, my heart filled with a mix of anticipation and dread. Vivian offered to tag along, but I declined since I needed some time alone to prepare myself for the upcoming discussion bound to happen between me and Caspian. Once I stepped out of the car, I was met with the sight of a group of men discussing amongst themselves in hushed tones as they walked out through the grand entrance in clusters. Pack elders. My eyes lingered on the unique silver wolf emblems pinned on their shirts before meeting their gazes filled with resentment and contempt. It was obvious that I had been the topic of their morning meetings, but I couldn't bring myself to care as I walked past them, entering the mansion where the Vyrclaw Beta, Keith, was waiting for me at the foot of the stairs. "Delilah," he said, bowing his head before gesturing behind him. "Caspian has been waiting for you. Please follow me." “Alright.” He guided me upstairs and knocked on the door once we reached the office. Caspian responded from the other side of the door, "Come in." I walked into the office, muttering a greeting under my breath as I sat in front of him. The Vyrclaw Alpha tore his gaze from his documents to look at me, his aquamarine blue eyes locking onto mine with intensity. "Delilah," he addressed me, his tone cool and calculating as he leaned forward, intertwining his long fingers on his desk. "I assume you know the reason I called you here." I shook my head, feigning ignorance. Caspian Quinlan and I had known each other since we were ten years old, yet the distance between us now felt wider than ever. Caspian was smart, ambitious, and very good-looking. The females in the pack often complimented his beach blonde hair and beautiful eyes that were rumoured to make anyone swoon if they stared at him longer than two minutes. Right now, they have been glaring at me for five minutes. "We have a problem," he announced with a grim expression. "The surrounding packs in Montana are wondering how we intend to save His Majesty's life." I frowned, a sharp edge to my voice. "How is that our problem?" I retorted, frustration simmering beneath the surface. "He's the one who refuses to renounce his vow to the moon goddess. His life or death should not concern us." The Vyrclaw Alpha simply grunted in agreement, but he did not relent. "Unfortunately, the other packs in the country do not share our reason, Delilah. They have sworn their fealty to the Alpha King, and they are threatening to break their alliances with us if anything happens to him." His words made my blood turn to ice. The logic behind their words did not make sense. This case was a private matter between Viktor and me, yet they insisted on meddling under the guise of political alliances. My expression hardened. "Caspian, I will not become Viktor's mate. It would never happen in this lifetime." "Then find a way to break his vow," Caspian growled, the stubbornness in his tone clashing with mine. "Because if you don't? Then we risk losing the funds we need to renovate the pack nursery and becoming enemies with every goddamn pack in this country." My heart sank. Despair and frustration threatened to overwhelm me after realizing the precariousness of the situation because of Viktor's stubborness. But surrendering was not an option, so that meant I was going to have to claw my way out of this problem. I just needed to find a way to retain my High Priestess position and appease the other neighboring packs. "Fine, then." I said, , determination seeping into every word. "I'll break that damn vow. Even if it's the last thing I do."DELILAH Six months later... “Vivian, we are going to be late if you don't come out of the shower!” The response I received was some warbled sound that echoed through the closed door. I rolled my eyes in exasperation before folding the rest of my jeans into my suitcase. Luckily, I had forced Vivian to pack the previous night, or else we would have been late today. It took me thirty minutes to finish packing all my stuff and then, Vivian stepped out of the bathroom. I barely turned around to see my friend standing in her birthday suit so I jerked back in surprise. “What the hell?” I gasped, clutching my chest. “Did you not see the towel in the bathroom?” Vivian gave me an unapologetic smirk before walking towards towards her clothes scattered all over the bed. “Yeah, I saw it,” she replied, pulling her shirt over her head. “But why would I need to be modest when we are just here?” I opened my mouth to reply when I picked up some sounds approaching down the hallway. I didn't ne
DELILAHJust when Caspian’s monstrous form was lunging toward me with his claws raised, something suddenly exploded across the platform. A massive black wolf slammed into him from the side with enough force to shake the ground. The impact sent both of them crashing away from me, rolling across the ground in a violent fight of teeth and claws. That was when I finally saw the wolf that saved me.The black wolf moved with brutal precision, snapping its jaws, forcing Caspian back with every strike. Even in this chaos, there was some familiarity that echoed through my very chest. My breath caught at the sight. “Viktor,” I whispered, disbelief crashing through me. Relief hit me so hard my knees almost gave out. Here he was, alive and strong, fighting for me and for all the lives in the Vyrclaw Pack.I thought he had abandoned me, but I was wrong. He came back for me again. He always did.My heart twisted violently as I watched him fight Caspian, their bodies colliding again and again. Vik
DELILAHAfter seven moons, it was finally the day of Caspian's mating ceremony. The whole town was buzzing with celebration. Laughter echoed through the streets as music played from every corner, people gathering in clusters to dance, talk, and enjoy the moment. Shop doors stayed closed, not because they had to, but because no one wanted to be inside when everything was happening out here. The air felt warm and alive, filled with excitement and a quiet sense that something important was about to unfold. But my skin had been ridden with goosebumps since the sun rose to the sky. The entire Moon Temple was now empty since I sent down the forest to celebrate with the rest of the pack. It was only time they were allowed to be so carefree, and I did not want restrict them. Even though every fibre of me protested against the decision. I let out a faint breath and adjusted the Head Priestess robes on my body. A part of me was a bit scared about the plans I made today, fearing that somethin
DELILAHI carried Vivian's unconscious body back to the Moon Temple in order to avoid any unwanted eyes. It was a great struggle at first, navigating through the forests before reaching my destination but I did not relent. We could not afford for any patrolling sentry to see us like this, or else we would alert Tessa and then our plans would be ruined. So, I weaved my way through pack territory, taking all the shortcuts I knew until I finally reached my destination. I had just summoned the last vestiges of my Moon magic to pull down the barrier so we could pass through when I saw someone leaning against a tree with his arms folded. It was Dvah.My eyes widened surprise when I saw him but he didn't even spare me a glance as he rushed to hold the person on my back. “What the fuck happened?” he growled, his voice rough with worry. “Why is she injured? Where the hell are you two coming from?”I opened my mouth to explain everything, but then I remembered that we were still outside the
DELILAHCaspian immediately shot up from his seat without hesitation, not caring about the loud screech it made across the floor when he closed the distance between us. As soon as he got in front of me, he lowered himself on one knee before grabbing my arm, checking to see if I was hurt."Delilah, are you alright?" he asked, his voice full of concern. I was too shaken up by the divination to the point that I didn't even know how to respond for three solid seconds. My mind kept replaying all the images I'd seen earlier, and suddenly everything made sense. The fact that I had just unknowingly acquired the answers I have been looking for all this time through a simple divination nearly made my knees buckle from a mix of relief and exhaustion."Delilah?"I snapped my head up to see the blatant concern in Caspian's eyes looking back at me. It had been so long since he looked at me like that, so it nearly softened me, making me spill secrets that I had no business telling him. But then my
DELIILAH Two days later, I didn't hear anything from Viktor that day. Vivian locked herself in her room ever since that night and refused to come out. I tried to go to the visit his royal quarters but the guards refused to let me in. So what the hell happened? Where had he gone to? I felt abandoned and confused, but all my efforts to decipher the situation were futile. If it wasn't for my powers currently being drained, I would have already used a tracking spell to find him. Leaning against my seat, I pinched my nose bridge to curb my insistent headache. My alpha's upcoming wedding was another pain to think about, especially since the days were quickly passing by. Deep down, I knew I had to leave the pack soon, but I didn't want to go without Viktor. A knock on the door suddenly tore my attention away. I lifted my head to glare at the door, as if willing the person at the other side to go away but she didn't. After two more hesitant knocks, I finally responded. “Come
DELILAH What the hell was I thinking?I kissed him. I kissed Viktor Volkov, the Alpha King! After speaking those words, my chest was suddenly filled with regret. During these three years, I had never done one reckless thing as the Head Priestess, but today I had just exposed my deepest secret. I
VIKTORAfter the ladies filed out, the tension in the room multiplied by tenfold. It was funny sight really, watching Caspian lower his fuming gaze while trying to adopt some sense of decorum.I let the uncomfortable silence stretch a little longer just to watch him squirm. My wolf growled at the s
VIKTORThere was only one way to reach the Sacred Forest from the Vyrclaw Pack. The path behind the alpha's mansion. That was why Delilah and I had to wait until night time before we snuck around the pack lands. The security was tight, but it was nothing but child's play in my eyes after Kytiri g
VIKTORI leaned into my chair, combat boots splayed on the mahogany desk as I glanced at the large TV in front of me. The air in the room was tense and oppressive as I stared at the faces of my Grand Council elders, each one filled with fear and unease. They had every right to be scared right now,
