Freya woke in stillness. Not the stillness of despair, but the breathless calm before a storm. Her body ached, but the pain no longer ruled her. Something had shifted, not just in her bones, but in the air itself.

The mark was whole. Completed. She could feel it thrumming under her skin, tethering her to Ragnar like a thread spun from fire and ice. But where once it had burned, now it pulsed with something else. Deeper. Older. As though a door had been forced open, and something forgotten had begun to breathe again.

Why was all of this happening now? The visions. The past life. She knew something was thrumming in her soul, but what triggered it? Perhaps the marking...

She sat up slowly. Her limbs trembled, but they obeyed. Her wolf stirred faintly, a fragile flicker like a dying ember coaxed back to life. The Obsidian Wing was cloaked in silence. No guards. No footsteps. No sound but the whisper of the wind against the high glass windows.

She was tired of staying in those four walls.

  • The Alpha King's Omega   26. Secrets

"Were both your parents omegas?" Chloe asked, and Freya narrowed her eyes. "Yes," she lied. She wasn't fully an Omega, and no one knows this, not even Atlas. Freya's mother was the last of the witches, and Freya had her blood in her veins. When she was a kid, she was eager to learn magic, but the king, the dominant alpha at that time, snatched everything from her.She might have had a witch's blood in her veins, but it wasn't pure blood, and she didn't know any magic."Your eyes, they held fire," Chloe said, calmly observing the girl.“I’ve seen many things,” Freya replied. “And I plan to see more.”Something like amusement flickered in Chloe’s eyes. But as she turned to leave, Freya’s voice stopped her.“Do you know of Skýrana?”Chloe froze mid-step. The shift was subtle, but her spine stiffened, her breath hitched.Slowly, she turned back. Her eyes narrowed. “Where did you hear that name?” She said that as if it were the most haunting thing."From my mother when I was a child." She

The next morning brought no chains, no commands, only the sound of the Obsidian Wing breathing around her. She woke up, taking her time, feeling the softness of the bed, the soft fur beneath her. It felt good to sleep in such warm sheets. She wondered how her people were coping, if they were fine, if Ragnar kept his word. The wind whispered secrets through cracks in the stone, and the cold seeped in like a memory. Freya freshened up and dressed slowly, deliberately. The maid had brought her new clothes, nothing extravagant but still so beautiful. It was a long royal dress code maxi that reached her ankles. It was flowy and fit her curves perfectly. Her hair was open as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She looked so feminine. The tremor in her hands was gone. The mark had settled, but it didn’t tame her. If anything, it sharpened her. Something within her stirred, more than just her wolf. Older. Hungrier. It was as if the mark had brought something to life.Yesterday, she he

Freya woke up to the sound of her breathing. It was shallow. Ragged. Alive. The marble floor beneath her body was cold as ice. The iron cuffs no longer bite her wrists. The chains had been removed. When did that happen? Why didn't she notice it? Maybe she was passed out. Despite not being tied in chains, she still did not move. Her limbs ached, heavy with phantom weight. Her wolf, once a roar inside her chest, was now a flickering echo.As her vision cleared, she stared at the inky sky, sparkling with millions of stars, through the ceiling window. And just like that, everything came back to her in small fragments. Her heartbeat quickened as her eyes darted around the chamber for any threat, and there was none.Ever since childhood, she has felt this strong spirit in her. When her parents were alive, she was a carefree child. She played with her friends and used to run in the fields. Everything was so perfect, but then, one unfortunate night, everything changed. Her world turned upside

There was no time. No light. No air. Just the raw, suffocating crush of nothingness.Freya drifted in it.The earth continued to spin and the time didn't stop neither it paused, it just kept slipping through the tips of her fingers in a full blur. The silence was absolute, a thick, oppressive veil that wrapped around her limbs like chains made of shadow. There was no pain now. No cold iron biting her wrists. No stone floor. Just emptiness. Just void. A place between moments, where time forgot to move.Freya couldn't feel anything. Though she was bound but she couldn't feel it. She was numb. Drifting between consciousness and unconsciousness. She didn’t know if she was dead or dreaming. And maybe it didn’t matter. Maybe that was mercy. But even in the dark, she was not alone. There was a constant heartbeat. Not hers. Not his. Then a whisper, soft and spectral... 'Wake up.' It wasn’t a command. It was a plea. Familiar. Intimate.Freya blinked into the void. The darkness peeled away in

  • The Alpha King's Omega   21. His Desire

Ragnar walked slowly, deliberately, each step swallowed by the pitch-black stones beneath his boots. The torches that lined the hallway flickered with blue flame, enchanted to keep the air cold. Cold enough to stifle scent. Cold enough to remind his prisoner inside that warmth, and mercy had no place in this wing of the castle. The Obsidian Wing.A place reserved for him solely. Where he spent most of the time to clear his mind, or when he wanted to cut himself off from reality. And now this place was reserved for her.Freya.The name tasted strange on his tongue every time he allowed himself to whisper it. Strange in a way that it rolled off his tongue in a perfect rhythm.Ragnar shouldn't be here. He knew that. Kings don't visit prisoners. Not personally. Not this deep. Not this often. But rules were for men. He was something else entirely. And it wasn't like Freya was only his prisoner. Of course, she was, but he had marked her and made her into his personal property. He paused at
