Thomas POV

Thomas woke already alert.

That alone told him Mira was dangerous.

The room smelled of sex and wine—last night lingering in the air like a dare. Morning light slipped through the curtains in narrow bands, cutting across the floor. Mira lay sprawled on the chaise, naked and unashamed, dark hair tangled, skin warm and inviting.

She looked relaxed.

She never was.

Thomas stood at the window, shirt half-buttoned, scanning the ground out of habit. His wolf was restless, pacing beneath his skin.

Not hunger. Not jealousy. Calculation.

“You’re mine,” he said finally. The words tasted like both claim and warning. “My mate. My Luna. But if you lie to me again, I’ll kill you myself.”

Mira laughed.

Not startled. Not offended.

Amused.

She slid off the chaise and crossed the room slowly, deliberately. Every step was measured. She stopped in front of him, tilted her head, eyes bright with something feral.

“You get so serious when you pretend to be dangerous,” she said. “That’s why I keep y

  • The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate   The Family Bonds

The fire burned low, its glow soft and amber against the walls of the village home. Outside, night had settled deep over the valley, blanketing the world in quiet. For once, there were no council summonses, no alarms, no cries of war — only the hush of wind through the pines and the sound of Lucian’s steady breathing beside Talia. She sat curled against a pile of furs, an old book resting on her knees — The Legacy of Flamebearers, a text Alina had brought her from the palace archives. Her eyes skimmed the words, though she hardly read them. Her focus lingered on the gentle swell of her stomach and the small, rhythmic motions beneath her palm. The life within her stirred again, a ripple of warmth and movement that drew a faint smile to her lips.“They’re restless tonight,” she murmured.Lucian’s deep voice carried a hint of amusement. “They get that from you.”Talia’s smile widened. “Hardly. You were born restless, King of Fire.”He chuckled, the sound low and intimate. “And yet someho

  • The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate   Fight Fire with Fire

Talia POVThe air changed first. Not sound. Not movement.Pressure.It crept low and sharp, like heat trapped beneath stone, pressing against her ribs and spine until her breath shortened. Talia felt it before anyone spoke—felt the pull, the subtle tightening of something hunting for purchase. For her.Ash-lines flared beneath Thomas’s boots, sickly green light bleeding through the stone floor in curling sigils that crawled outward, searching. The spell wasn’t fully formed yet—but it was alive. Hungry. The mark on Talia’s chest burned. Not pain.Recognition.Her heartbeat slowed instead of racing, a steady drum anchoring her where fear should have taken hold. Heat spread outward from the left side of her chest, sinking deep into muscle and bone, flowing down her arms like molten breath. “Lucian,” she said sharply. He moved instantly, pulling her back as the sigils flared.“Containment!” Casius barked.Green fire erupted across the floor, not consuming, not spreading—controlled chaos.

  • The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate   The False Savior

Talia POVThe air was still heavy with it.Smoke. Fear. The residue of violence clung to stone and steel long after the fires were extinguished and the crowds dispersed. The outpost stronghold sat in the lowlands below the city walls. It was one of the last outposts before reaching the city gates. Built for moments like this—withdrawal, regrouping, survival—but even here, the remnants of the attack a few days earlier lingered.Talia stood near the open windows of the command hall, breathing slowly. The fresher mountain wind had begun to push the worst of it away, thinning the acrid smell of pine and cold stone, but traces remained. Civil unrest left scars that didn’t scrub clean. Her chest ached beneath the bandage. The mark—on the left side above her breast, close to her heart—pulsed faintly, not painful, but aware. Alive. It reacts to tension the way a wound reacts to weather.Below, soldiers rotated watches. The outpost was on alert but no longer braced for immediate violence. That

Talia POV — The Mark AwakensThe night after the markings, nothing settled. The camp should have been quiet—guards rotating, fires banked low, the forest breathing its usual slow rhythm—but the world refused to rest. Wind threaded through the pines like a warning whispered too late, brushing needles together in soft, restless sighs. Even the moon seemed unsettled, its light waxing and dimming, waxing again, as if beating time with something alive beneath Talia’s skin. She sat awake long after the others slept, her back against the narrow cot, hands resting over the curve of her stomach. Three steady pulses answered her touch—strong, insistent, unaware of the danger tightening around them. She breathed through the familiar fear, grounding herself in those rhythms. Her children were real. Present. Alive.Sleep would not come. Each time her eyes closed, sound crashed back into her—Ilode’s scream. Raw. Broken. The sound of someone watching everyone she loved be erased while Mira stood by,

  • The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate   Marked by the Moon

The Mark AwakensCasius POVThe pines swallowed Ilode’s shadow long before the sound of her steps disappeared.Casius waited, jaw clenched, until even the birds stopped warning her path. He’d done it—let her go. His hand still burned where she’d grasped it in parting, the promise whispered like a curse. She lied to me, Casius. She killed my parents. She’ll burn for it.And then she was gone.He exhaled through his teeth, a thin mist ghosting into the cold air. “Moon help me,” he muttered. “If I’ve just unleashed another monster…”By the time he reached the convoy, smoke had thickened the valley. The land below looked bruised in the dying light—ashes, bodies, silence. Lucian was still holding command in the village, drawing pressure away from the evacuation route. Talia had already been secured in the rear carriage under full guard. Two guards opened the doors as Casius approached.Alina stood near the vehicles, half her hair undone, armor streaked with soot and dried blood. Her eyes l

  • The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate   Casius’s Choice to Let Ilode Go Free

Casius POVRain hammered the pines and ran in thin lines down my face. The forest blurred into dark green and shadow. Every sense was raw: cold biting my skin, my blood thudding in my ears, Ryen’s weight still warm under my boot. This place had no room for mercy.Ilode moved like a quick rumor—sharp angles, sudden. She fought with the same skill we’d all learned on the training field, sharpened into something more challenging by darker things. The dart in Ryen’s neck had been clean and quiet, precisely the kind of thing she did: fast, precise, without show.I raised my blade because that’s what I knew to do. The world narrowed to steel and breath. We circled in a small clearing, lightning flashing above us.“You should have stayed with the convoy,” I said, trying to sound steadier than I felt. She laughed—half a sound that tasted of rust and pain. “And miss the fireworks? Not my style, Beta.”She lunged. I met her, blade on blade. The strike sent a jolt up my arm. Her moves felt less
