VIOLET

All five of us formed a circle, holding hands as we watched Daisy perform a spell. Suddenly, the world around us began to spin, and before I could make sense of what was happening, darkness engulfed me.

Then, just as abruptly, a blinding light hit my eyes. Disoriented, I struggled to keep my balance as dizziness took over.

“Where the fuck are we?!” Indie exclaimed.

Only then did I realize that the other four were around me and just as confused as I was. Well, everyone except Daisy.

I blinked, scanning my surroundings. And then it hit me. I recognized this place. How could I not? This was where I had grown up.

“Daisy, where are we?” Mason asked again.

“The South. My pack,” I replied for her.

“I figured teleporting us here would be much easier than going through the long journey,” Daisy explained, looking around. “So, where do we start? Do we even have details on the people who were kidnapped?”

“Yes. There are two missing girls in the south, namely Sophia and Mi

VIOLETAfter failing to gather useful information in the south, we decided to move our search to the east. However, the east proved to be even more frustrating than the last location. The people here weren’t just uncooperative; they outright refused to engage with us. Their expressions were cold, their attitudes distant, and they seemed to carry an air of resentment. "Now I see where Emily gets her attitude from. This entire place is full of sadists," Mason joked, and everyone burst out laughing. “What do we do now? We aren’t getting any answers,” I sighed, frustrated. Just then, my phone started ringing, and I looked at the screen to see that it was an unknown number calling. My brows furrowed as I wondered who it could be. “Who is calling?” Axel asked. “I don’t know,” I responded before picking up the call. “Oh, thank goodness, Violet. Your number has not been reachable,” a familiar voice sounded from the other end of the line. “Emmett?” I asked to confirm. “Yes, it’

VIOLETWithout hesitation, Daisy whisked us back to school. We reappeared in the forest around the academy, and after regaining my balance, I immediately took off in a sprint toward the principal’s office. If Alpha Richard had already started reviewing the surveillance footage, we were in deep trouble. As I burst into the office, slightly breathless, my gaze darted around the room in search of my father. There he was, seated on the couch in one corner, his legs crossed and a deep frown etched onto his face. “Father,” I said breathlessly. “When did you arrive?” “Violet, dear,” he said, the frown on his face slowly disappearing. “Where have you been? I have looked everywhere for you, but you were nowhere to be found.” “I was...” I scratched my scalp. “I was in the woods, running.” His eyes narrowed. “Have you shifted yet?” “No. I—uh—” I scratched my scalp again, thinking of what to say. “I have been stressed, so I went to clear my mind.” “Is it about Abel?” he questioned,

AXELThe pain that shot through my body at the sight before me was almost unbearable. My chest tightened, and every muscle in my body weakened. She had lied to me. She had deceived me. Even her father knew about her relationship with Emmett. I clenched my fists, struggling to suppress the overwhelming urge to storm over there and rip Emmett apart for touching my mate. But that would have been pathetic. She had chosen him. He wasn’t forcing himself on her. She had made her decision. I turned around and walked away from there as fast as I could before every ounce of restraint I was holding snapped. My phone started ringing, and I checked the screen to see that it was my father calling back. I had called him earlier, but he hadn’t picked up. “Alpha King,” I groaned into the phone, barely able to contain my rage. “Is this a transfer of aggression, or what?” His voice was laced with amusement. “Who pissed you off?” I sighed heavily to control the rage within me. “I’m sorry.

MAXIMUS (THE NORTHERN ALPHA KING)Several years ago, I happened to meet a powerful red-haired witch while searching for a solution to the doom looming over my pack—the Invisibles. They attacked in their cloaked forms, making it incredibly difficult to fight back. But despite the challenges, we always triumphed. However, no matter how many of them we killed in each attack, more would appear the next time. Though we managed to fend them off, I was losing my men, and I knew I had to find a way to stop the attacks once and for all. That was when Silas offered to help, claiming he had a powerful witch under his wing, one who could foresee both the past and future of a person simply by touching them. Her name was Lila. At first, I was skeptical, but desperation drove me to agree to have my past and future read. The visions she provided led us to clues that helped us catch the one behind the Invisibles. He was captured and executed. Only later did we discover the shocking truth. Gabriel,

He requested that the meeting be held in an open space, and his request was granted. We stood face to face, each of us with our soldiers behind us, ready to attack if things took a turn for the worse. “So, what did you want to talk about?” he asked with a hard frown on his face. My expression mirrored his. “Lila.” His brows furrowed. “What about Lila?” “Where is she?” I groaned out. “How is Lila connected to the missing girls? That’s what you said you wanted to talk about,” he retorted. “And that is exactly what I am talking about.” “What?” he asked, confused. “Oh, don’t play dumb, Silas. At least be a man who owns up to his actions,” I groaned. His forehead creased. “If I am correct, you are trying to accuse me and Lila of the kidnappings.” “Am I wrong?” I asked, my eyes turning a darker shade. “I never knew I came here to waste my time.” Fury bla

VIOLETAxel had been avoiding me ever since he saw me with Emmett and my father. I had no idea how I was going to explain things to him in a way that he would believe, how I would make him understand that there was nothing going on between me and Emmett. Today, in the locker room, I planned to get him to talk to me before lacrosse practice began. “Isn’t that job tiring? It’s not like you are even getting paid,” Daisy said as she watched me get dressed. “That’s why it’s called volunteer work. I am not doing it for money,” I said as I slipped my hands into my jacket. At first, I had accepted the job just to prove Axel wrong, but I had to admit, I was actually enjoying it now. Getting to watch them play every day made it all worth it. “Or...” She wiggled her brows, sitting up from her bed. “Are you doing this because he’s on the team?” “Who?” A blush crept onto my face, knowing exactly who she was talking about. “Him. You know?” She wiggled her brows again. “I have no ide

AXELEver since Alpha Richard’s distressed voice boomed over the intercom, I couldn’t stop wondering what had gone wrong. I could only hope that this assembly wasn’t about any of our students going missing. We all gathered in the assembly hall, with Violet seated beside me. Orion wouldn’t stop rumbling excitedly after realizing we had completely misunderstood our mate and that she wasn’t with Emmett. Once the students had settled, Alpha Richard stepped behind the podium, his sharp gaze sweeping across the room. “Good evening, everyone,” he began. “I have called you all here to discuss something important. I’m sure you’ve heard about the recent disappearances of several girls. Because of this, we have tightened security within the school to ensure the safety of our students, especially our girls. Now, I want to implore each of you to remain within the school premises and not sneak out.” He shifted his gaze toward me, staring intently. That last part was definitely directed at

I guess Alpha Richard finally taught her how to do that.” “Then why am I the one against the wall when the person who is frustrating you is over there?” I glanced in Emily’s direction to see her staring daggers at me. Alpha Richard also looked like he was about to explode with anger. “I—uhm—” He pressed his lips together and pulled away from me. “I am sorry.” “I think you are in trouble,” I said when I saw Alpha Richard approaching in long, angry strides. He turned around just in time as Alpha Richard reached where we stood. “Hi, Principal. That was great advice back there.” Axel laughed awkwardly. “Axel Northwood!” He growled. “You have been warned several times against using your powers, and now you are hurting your fellow students

AXELIt took everything in me to release Violet and follow Aunt Amelia back to the witches’ kingdom after that sweet intoxicating kiss. I wanted her in my arms at all times, I wanted to devour her. Hell, I couldn’t wait to put my mark on her, to officially make her mine.My father was notified of the recent development and he promised to be at the witches’ land shortly. The witches’ clan leader was in the throne room, waiting for us when we arrived. He quickly leaned forward and raised a brow as he asked Aunt Amelia. “Did you get it?”She nodded, and pulled the black headband out. “Here it is.”“Then let’s get to it.” He said as he stood up and started walking towards the giant doors.Aunt Amelia followed and so did I.“Where are we going?” I asked her as we walked out of the throne room and down the corridor.“To the spell room.” She told me.“And he is not going in with us.” Kaelin called out from ahead. I scowled. “Why?”“Because it is sacred for the witches and I can’t allow wol

VIOLETTThe first thing I did after waking up was check if the headband was still in my pocket—and I was relieved to find that it was. I immediately called Axel to inform him, only to find out that he was already at the Witches’ clan leader’s place, asking him to free me. My chest spread with warmth at that information, knowing that my mate truly cared about me. I couldn’t believe that I had ever doubted his love for me.They would be here any moment to take the headband and undo the hex. I couldn’t be more excited. Living with this sickness was hell and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy—except Lila though. I had hated her before, but the hate doubled over after my interaction with her. She had no atom of remorse in her.I stared at the black headband in my hands, a satisfactory smile touching my lips. She’d soon be done for.A knock suddenly sounded on the door and I quickly sat up, a smile spreading on my lips as I expected Axel and Daisy’s mom to walk in. But that smile quickly

AXELIf the man before me wasn’t Aunt Amelia’s father and Daisy’ grandfather, I would’ve charged at him and gouged his eyes out. How could he be so heartless, causing an innocent girl so much pain? I understood we were all desperate to root out Lila and put an end to her menace once and for all, but hexing Violet? That was too far.And the cure to the hex was bullshit. How could he insult the mate bond like that? Mating and marking of one’s mate was sacred to the werewolves. It was supposed to be done when both parties were fully ready. But the Witches’ clan leader here had turned it to a cure to a fucking hex. “You have to find another way!” I barked at him. I had full desire to mate and mark Violet, but not this way. We have to do it out of our own free will, not when we are being forced. “Why?” He raised his brow, totally unbothered by what he had done. “Why do you care about that? Tell me the truth, are you her mate?”“What if I was?” I snapped. “Would you consider finding anot

She was the menace we had been looking for all these while, and I couldn’t let her go. I had to find a way to trap her. But there was so little I could do when I was alone and she was more powerful than I was. “Where are the girls?!” I growled. “Damn!” Her face twisted into a frown. “Why does everyone keep accusing me?”“Don’t even attempt to lie to me.” I retorted. “All evidence points to you.”“Really?” She folded her arms across her chest, pinning her gaze on me. “What evid

I couldn’t continue living this way. I was on the verge of losing my sanity. My father wouldn’t tell me why the witches’ clan leader hexed me, and he wouldn’t succumb to his demands either. That showed how little he cared about me and my heart ached at that.Groaning in pain, I reached for my phone on the nightstand to call Daisy. He was her grandfather so she might have some idea.“Violet!” She beamed from the other end of the call when she picked up. “I had tried your line several times but it wasn’t going through.”The pain was so much that I forgot I had a phone. It was not until this evening that I asked my mom for it and she gave it to me. “There’s been a lot going on.” I told her with a tired sigh.“How are you? You don’t sound well. I even sighted a group of children practicing their magic by trying to revive a withering flower. Finally, one of them did it and they all jumped up in excitement with echoes of their giggles spreading around the area. It was beautiful and heart-warming.This place was so different from all the werewolf kingdoms I had been to.At the centre of the town, was a giant castle which I believed the clan elder resided in. “Is that where the clan elder live?” I decided to ask Aunt Amelia.“Yes, that’s where I live too.” She glanced at me and winked. “You know, since I am the princess.”“Can I see inside?” I asked.“Let’s show you the surrounding first before—““I am really curious to see what it looks like. Their voices were hushed while discussing something I presumed they didn’t want anyone else to hear, but when my Dad saw me, he paused, casting a disapproving look my way. “Where have you been?” He groaned. “I brought you here for a reason.”“I am sorry, I had to go and ease myself and I got lost.” I let the lie slip off my tongue. The look on his face showed that he didn’t believe me, but he decided to let it go anyway. “The meeting is done. We are heading back now.” I nodded. “Okay.”On our way to the car, I moved closer to Uncle Lucius, lowering my voice as I asked curiously. “What’s the conclusion on Lila?” “If you wanted to know, you should’ve stayed for the meeting, but...” He leaned closer and reduced his voice to a level only I could hear.

But he mentioned that it was the Witches’ clan leader’s doing.”“Kaelin?” He said, confusion evident in his face. “Why would he hex you?”“I don’t know either.” I sighed. “I guess my dad got on his wrong side.”“And he wouldn’t say what it is that is between them.
