A Day Meant for Two

In the morning, Darina slept in until 8:00 a.m., so it was too late for training. After a quick shower, she dressed in an elegant, floor-length floral wrap dress featuring soft shades of pink and delicate botanical prints. The dress had a flattering V-neckline, long sheer sleeves, and a belted waist that enhanced her silhouette. Its flowy chiffon fabric gave it a romantic, graceful look. She left her curls loose and applied a touch of mascara and lip gloss.

A knock sounded at the door, and she expected it to be Kai. “Good morning. You look gorgeous.” “Morning. Thank you,” Darina replied shyly. “I made breakfast and served it in my room—if that’s okay with you?” “Sounds good,” Darina replied, mindlinking Will to let him know she wouldn’t join him for breakfast, then followed Kai to his room.

Kai’s room was spacious and well-designed, but Darina didn’t get a chance to look around—her full attention was seized by the delicious aroma. On the table, she saw scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, pancakes, waffles with various syrups, fruit salad, fresh orange juice, and coffee.

“Did you prepare all of this?” Darina asked, astonished. “It’s not that much. I told you I have a talent for cooking,” Kai said with a smile. “I can only judge the talent once I taste it,” Darina joked. “Please, dig in,” said Kai, helping her to sit before settling opposite her.

Darina took a small bite of a pancake. “It’s delicious.” “I told you,” Kai laughed.

They didn’t talk much after that, simply enjoying the food in comfortable silence. “Thank you. Breakfast was great,” Darina said as she sipped her coffee. “It was my pleasure to cook for you,” Kai replied warmly. “I have to run now to meet your mother for Luna training.” “You’re excused for today so we can spend the day together.” “Wonderful news. What would you like to do?” Darina smiled. “How about a day by the ocean?” “I would love that.” “Perfect. Just pack your bikinis, and I’ll meet you at the palace entrance in half an hour.”

Exactly half an hour later, Darina was at the palace entrance with a small bag packed. Kai was already waiting for her near the car. The day promised to be exciting, but suddenly, Darina heard the loud clack of stilettos and saw Jackie approaching.

“Hello, guys. Going somewhere?” she asked. “Yes, we were planning to head to the ocean,” Kai answered. “Great! Reed has the day off. So does Cassandra. Mind if we join?” “Actually, we were planning to spend some time alone,” Kai said firmly.

“Oh, you’ll have a lifetime together. We just want to get to know our Luna better. A group outing sounds fun.”

Darina and Kai exchanged a speechless glance before Jackie added, “I already mindlinked Reed and Cassandra that you invited them. They’ll be here in ten minutes.”

Kai looked ready to argue, but Darina gently squeezed his hand. “I’ll mindlink Will to see if he wants to join,” she said calmly.

Ten minutes later, Reed, Cassandra, and Will arrived. Since they couldn’t all fit in one car, Darina rode with Kai, while Reed drove the others.

Once in the car, Darina asked, “Can I start training female warriors?” “Yes, that’s a great idea. But start with volunteers first before making it mandatory. I’ll announce it during the next pack meeting.” “Sounds great. I’m starting tomorrow with the three who already signed up.”

Kai raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Camilla, Kelly, and Larissa said they’ll join.” “Larissa?” “I was surprised too,” Darina laughed.

“Now, back to your not-so-favorite topic—event planning. My mother and her squad will begin preparing your Luna ceremony tomorrow. Be ready.” “How exciting,” Darina replied sarcastically, laughing.

“My brother’s Alpha Ascension Ceremony is in five days. Will you come?” “Of course, I’ll join you. Reed and a few warriors will come for security. Alpha and Beta families are invited, but my dad and Ben decided to stay back and just send the future officials.” “Sounds good. I’m excited to see my family and pack.” “Your former pack. I hope soon you’ll call the Royal Pack yours,” Kai said with a smile.

They reached the beach house, and Darina looked at him in surprise. “This is my family’s house. We’ll base ourselves here and go swimming later.”

Reed’s car pulled up, and everyone got out. Jackie walked over to Kai and said, “I love this house. We had so many nice moments here. It was so much fun.” She winked and tugged Cassandra toward the house.

Darina's jaw tightened, but she forced a courteous smile. Today, she would not allow Jackie to irritate her. Darina had already made a silent vow to herself, but Kai gave her hand a gentle squeeze in silent assurance.

This would be a fun day for her. He would be fun for her. "Of course, she won't make it easy," she thought quietly as she watched Jackie laugh a little too loudly and glance back at Kai. Darina knew in her heart that Jackie wouldn't let this day pass without any action.

Darina was expecting Kai to come to her room and comfort her. In just one day, she had been nearly poisoned, fought off rogues, and witnessed Bred die right in front of her.She had seen death before—she had killed before—but on the battlefield, not in such a sneaky, cowardly way as poison. It was terrifying to know someone wanted her dead. And deep down, she had a gut feeling it was Jackie."I feel the same," Coral said. "That cunning b**ch just wants to get rid of us.""But we have no proof... not yet," Darina sighed."Reed will get to the bottom of it," Coral replied firmly.Darina looked away, her voice softer. "Coral, I’m not sure I did the right thing opening my heart to Kai. I always feel his doubt, his lack of trust in me. He didn’t believe me again—not enough to open an investigation on Jackie. And now, when I need him the most, he’s not even here. Isn’t that what mates are supposed to do? Love and support yo

Jackie didn’t move, silently praying he wouldn’t drink it.But he did.Piercing screams filled the air the moment Camilla touched his pulse and announced, “He’s dead.”Through the blur of her tears, Jackie saw Reed, Will, Kai, and a group of warriors with medics rushing into the living room. The pale face of the omega servant who had served the drinks stood out in the chaos. Bred’s lifeless body lay motionless on the floor. She climbed down from the tree and ran before anyone could notice her.Bred was dead.Young, handsome, ambitious—they could’ve been happy together. But now, he was gone. Thanks to the fake Luna who had given her drink to him.“I had no choice. No choice. I couldn’t stop it. It was Darina who poisoned him,” Jackie whispered to herself like a mantra, curled up on her bed and crying.Eventually, exhaustion from the stress and crying took over, and she fell asleep.

The night had been epic. Everyone enjoyed themselves and went to bed just before sunrise.Kai and Darina shared a heated make-out session after the celebration in their room and fell asleep peacefully in each other’s arms. The next morning, after breakfast, Darina and the others said their goodbyes to her family and headed to the airport. Much to Darina’s displeasure, Jackie joined them—but to everyone's surprise, she acted sweet and friendly, even managing to stay civil around Bred.Larissa and Troy went along to visit Larissa’s parents and pack her things.Reed and Amber came to the parking lot with fresh marks and mingled scents.“Congratulations,” Kai said. “That was fast.”“We’ve waited for each other too long to hesitate,” Reed replied, and Amber nodded in agreement.“See? Your old-fashioned ways will only bring trouble. Being unmarked is going to backfire on us—I&r

After breakfast, Jenna grabbed Darina’s hand. “Meetings for the boys, spa for us.”She took Darina, Luna Elena, Cassandra, and Larissa with her to indulge in a full day of spa treatments. Darina had always loved massages, but this experience took things to another level. They started with a Moroccan bath, followed by a chocolate body wrap, waxing, a full-body massage, and finally a manicure and pedicure.Darina looked down at her glowing, soft skin and admired her perfectly shaped baby-pink nails with a smile.“We’re not done yet,” Jenna announced. “Time for hair and makeup.”When her hair and makeup were finished, Darina turned to the mirror—and gasped. She barely recognized the elegant woman staring back at her. The soft lighting caught every shimmering detail of her moonlit lavender gown. Crystal embroidery sparkled like stardust, cascading along the dress and pooling in delicate layers of tulle at her feet

Kai found Darina in the room. She closed the book she was reading and looked up at him. He kissed her forehead and sat on the sofa beside her."How was your meeting?""Good. We decided to team up to figure out the rogue camp's location. Their numbers are growing, and they have a self-proclaimed alpha who has organized them into a large pack.""Do you know who he might be?""No idea," sighed Kai, pouring himself a glass of water."Anything else?" asked Darina."We need to be kinder to Jackie," said Kai. "She's having a hard time finding her place after our engagement. Her friends have abandoned her too.""Maybe she's not such a great friend. And maybe, to find her place, she needs to learn more skills than just how to dress up and be a b**ch," said Darina sharply."Darina, where is this bitterness coming from? That doesn't sound like you.""Maybe you don’t know me well enough. I’m going for a walk," said Darina, and left. She was fuming and confused. Could he really not see that Jackie

  • The Alpha Prince's Fierce Bride   The Mate Twist

Jackie’s heart pounded in her chest. "Please, please, please, Moon Goddess, let him be the Alpha of a large pack", she silently prayed. The intoxicating scent grew stronger. She could feel him behind her, but fear kept her from turning around. Taking a deep breath, she finally turned. And there he was—looking like a Greek god, with a perfectly sculpted body and a face that was both angelic and ruggedly masculine. Jackie could barely keep from drooling. But her dream shattered in an instant. His aura was weak. He wasn’t an Alpha. He wasn’t even a Beta. He was just a warrior. “Don’t you dare reject him!” Katriona screamed in her mind. “I don’t even want to,” Jackie responded internally. “Hello, mate,” the man said, his voice deep and sexy. He reached for her hand, and the moment their skin touched, sparks danced across her body, warming her from within. “Hello,” she replied softly, lowering her eyes but stepping closer. “I’m Jackie Sullivan, daughter of the Royal Pack Beta.” “Co
