Chapter 2

ผู้เขียน: Dream’s Dawn
Rin’s eyes welled up with tears again.

“Luna, are you doubting me? Do you really think I tried to seduce the professor? If I didn’t allow him to apply the medicine, the silver poison would have eaten away at my wolf spirit. He had no choice! How could you… how could you think that of us?”

The truth stabbed me like a knife. Trevor had already seen and already touched every inch of her body.

My limbs went numb and stiff. I did not know how to react, only that when I finally spoke, even my voice was breaking.

“It’s fine. Trevor’s more practiced at applying the medicine. I’ll call your professor for you.”

Rin shook her head, crying harder.

“Luna, please, don’t say that. I was wrong. If my presence here upsets you, then I’ll leave. I’ll leave right now…”

She tried to stand up in a rush, but her foot slipped and she crashed hard onto the floor.

Before I could move, the door burst open with a bang.

Trevor stormed in, shoving me aside and shielding Rin with his body. His eyes blazed with fury.

“Lara, are you trying to kill her? What will it take to satisfy you?!”

Rin curled into his arms, sobbing so hard she could barely breathe.

“Professor, please don’t misunderstand! I fell on my own! It wasn’t Luna’s fault!”

However, as she spoke, she suddenly broke into violent sobs, struggling against him.

“What did I do wrong? What did I say that made her hate me? Am I really so stupid, so useless, that even fate itself has cursed me with the torment of a rogue wolf’s life? Maybe I deserve it…”

Her cries made Trevor’s expression grow darker. His hand clenched into a fist.

He was not one to anger easily, but the look he casted towards me was sharp enough to cut.

“Lara, look at her. Look at what your jealousy has done to her. Can’t you feel even a shred of remorse?! I don’t understand. How did your heart become so cruel?”

I stood frozen, a smile uglier than my tears on my face. “Is that it? That I’ve changed, or is it you?”

Trevor did not even spare me a glance. He carried Rin in his arms and left.

“Reflect on yourself. Rin is a genius, not some toy for you to torment.”

He condemned me and never came back that night.

I sat in a daze on the bed, opening up the black market page I had kept hidden for months — the one selling the scroll to sever a mate bond painlessly.

Beside me, my phone kept lighting up with messages from my best friend.

[Lara, don’t overthink this. That Omega wolf wasn’t your fault. The rogue wolves were to blame. Your Alpha knows that. He just wants to help his student.]

[You two are fated mates. After all these years, don’t you know what kind of man he is?]

Did I know Trevor?

I had no idea.

The man who used to keep his distance from every other female wolf, who made me feel safe, had removed his name from our mate registry without my consent, only to register himself with Rin.

All it took were a few malicious rumors in the pack, and he had decided that I had plotted to harm her.

I opened an anonymous message again. It contained the chat logs between him and Rin.

[Rin: Professor, I feel embarrassed saying this, but whenever I lose control of my inner wolf, your presence nearby always calms me down.]

[Trevor: Don’t worry. I’ll stay by your side.]

Each line of their messages went far beyond what should exist between professor and student, leaving my heart in tatters.

I lost control and hurled my phone away. I threw out our wedding photo and the bond ring he once kissed with such devotion.

I threw away so many things filled with our memories.

In the end, I sat alone in the wreckage, laughing and crying.

Perhaps I really was a sinner. Perhaps I did ruin a genius like Rin.

Would it not have been better if I had just let them be together from the start?

Tears blurred my eyes until dawn. Finally, I placed the order for the magic scroll.

When I left the room, I walked past the guest bedroom. Light slipped out through the crack in the door. On impulse, I glanced inside.

The lamp was still on. Trevor lay on the floor, perfectly still.

However, his hand rested on the bed, where Rin held it tightly in hers.

Their hands were clasped so firmly.

The Alpha’s soothing scent wrapped so tightly around Rin.

It looked like nothing had happened, and yet, like everything had.

I stood in the doorway, watching, until tears turned into a bitter smile.

It was time for me to go.

I turned and left the place I had once called home, heading straight to the Wolf Pack headquarters to formally resign as Luna.

By the time I was done, it was nearly noon. As I passed the Alpha’s office, I heard something I had not heard in a long time. It was Trevor’s relaxed laughter.

I looked through the open doorway. He was holding a thick book, explaining something to Rin with seemingly infinite patience.

She sat beside him, gazing at him with worship in her eyes, leaning in so close her arm nearly touched his.

That was the moment when every trace of doubt and heartache inside me froze into unshakable resolve.

I pushed the door open. The laughter stopped instantly.

I handed Trevor the scroll calmly and said, “Sign it.”

His gaze fell on the scroll I handed him, and the bold words “Dissolution of Mate Bond” seared into him like a brand. His pupils contracted sharply.

  • The Alpha Professor's Regret: He Begged for My Return   Chapter 10

A flash of feral malice lit up in Rin’s eyes.Every one of her deeds had been exposed across the entire alliance through The Wolf Tribune. The so-called rogue wolves’ ambush was nothing but a staged performance, with hired actors playing the parts. The alleged shattering of her wolf spirit was a trick of dark sorcery she had orchestrated herself.Even the research that had once left me in awe, it had all been stolen by her. From the very beginning, the entire thing had been a lie.Rin threw her head back and laughed. Her laughter was sharp, eerie and completely unhinged.“So what if I’ve played the highest-born Alpha’s Luna for a fool?“The little one in my belly? It’s his pup!”The moment she said that, the surrounding wolves erupted in chaos, and even I froze in place. The heart I thought had long since gone numb twitched painfully, betraying me.I had assumed that, no matter how blind he was, Trevor would never… go this far with an Omega. In an instant, Trevor shifted in

The reporter from The Wolf Tribune had promised to release the story an hour before my flight. Now the scandal surrounding Rin had detonated across the entire werewolf network. Media outlets from every major pack were furiously amplifying what could only be called a historic scandal. However, I did not expect Trevor to pursue me to the airport.“Lara! Lara! Where are you? I was wrong!“Please don’t leave me!”The huge terminal echoed with his cries, raw with despair and pain.Other werewolves nearby recognized him and their whispers grew louder.“Isn’t that the Alpha of the Blackstone Pack? What happened to him?”“Didn’t you see the news? He kicked out his Luna, their bond witnessed by the Moon Goddess, for a fake Omega! I’ve never heard anything like it!”I pulled my hood low and hurried through the boarding gate. The guards followed protocol. “Lara Blythe? Please remove your hood for a wolf spirit signature check.”Someone behind me heard my name and shouted, “Lara’s ove

Trevor forced down the agitating feeling in his chest and spoke to her in a gentle, soothing voice. He then brought out the calming potion prescribed by the healer, mixed it with warm water and handed it to her. However, Rin clenched her teeth and refused, “Professor… I have a pup in my belly. I’d better not drink it yet. I’ll be fine after a nap.”Trevor wanted to guide her to the master bedroom. It was warmer and better for the pup, but Rin seemed surprisingly sensible, heading toward the guest room on her own, as if worried that Luna might be upset if she knew.He regretted that he did not intervene when Lara had first suggested recommending Rin to the Neutral Territory Academy.Lara had insisted Rin was a rare genius who deserved a broader horizon. However, she had forgotten that Rin was just an Omega from a remote pack. Even with her excellent performance at the Pack Academy, her deep-seated insecurity and timidity could not match the wolves raised in elite households. How c

He yanked me, and I stumbled. My gaze passed over his shoulder to see Rin sitting on the couch, quietly eating a rare Moonfruit. Her lower belly was slightly rounded. The moment she noticed me, she quickly rose to her feet and spoke timidly, “Luna… you’re back.”My eyes hesitated as they fell on her stomach. Werewolf pregnancies were short. By the looks of it, she was already nearly two months along.Tears instantly welled up in Rin’s eyes and she instinctively cradled her abdomen.“Luna, the pup is innocent. I-I want to keep it.”I paused for a moment then let out a bitter, hollow laugh. “You want to carry the offspring of those rogue wolves? Or… the Alpha’s heir?”The words barely left my mouth when Trevor’s guilt-stricken expression vanished, followed by a sharp reprimand, “Lara! How can you say that? I haven’t even touched her.“Rin lost her parents when she was young. What’s wrong with wanting to have her own bloodline?!“She’s done nothing wrong. The only one at fault i

Unlike many werewolves who awakened freely, every stage of my life had been tightly bound to Trevor. When I finished my studies and was about to accept a teaching offer from the Neutral Territory Academy, Trevor proposed a mate bond to me during the Moon Festival.Under the moonlight, the eyes of the entire pack were on us.I accepted his mark, became his Luna and, in doing so, gave up that chance.Though my years as Luna were filled with glory and sweetness, whenever I sat alone in the pack’s library, paging through old texts, I could not help but wonder what kind of life I would be living now if I had chosen a different path. However, once the wheel of fate began to turn, there was no turning it back. Thus, when I first met Rin, my instinct was to hand that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity over to her. Now, as I cut ties with my past and prepare to leave, that same opportunity had come back around to me.This time, I would finally get to choose for myself.I replied in a soft

Meanwhile, files kept popping up on my phone. I scrolled through them one by one. The look on my face turned from stunned disbelief to a bittersweet sense of relief.“Lara! Professor Vale has been completely deceived by that fraud. You have to tell him the truth!”As I stared at the documents, the crushing weight I had carried in my chest for so long finally lifted.I did not shatter a genius, nor did I betray the calling of the Luna.I felt like a drowning person finally breaking free from the depths, gasping in fresh air. However, my breathing had barely settled when my mind dragged me back to that scene — Trevor, standing before the enforcers, chose to cast me aside. The ruthless determination in his expression severed the last fragile thread of our mate bond, leaving nothing between us.Whatever we had as mates was over.I whispered into the phone, “Mr. Lane, I’ll explain later.”After all, the people who framed me and tried to hurt me had to be dealt with first.
