Selene POV
My breath hitched in my throat as I turned to face the figures that had just barged into my bed chamber.
Relief flooded over me when I realised it was Blake and Evangeline. They shut the door hurriedly behind them as Blake stifled a laugh at the position he had caught Aiden and me in. Aiden sprawled out on the floor, me still straddling him, both naked as the day we were born.
I immediately noticed the marks on their necks. It seems Aiden and I weren’t the only ones busy making things official, although it took Blake and Evangeline significantly less time to take the plunge.
“You two better pull yourselves together… or er… apart. Mother and Gabriel will be here any minute” Evangeline whispered, a slight hint of panic in her voice.
“They know we’re here? As in, in the palace?”
“Yes, Gabriel must be tracking

Aiden POVThe feeling of the power radiating through my body was intoxicating. I had never felt so alive. The Moon Goddess was aiding Selene and Evangeline in training Blake and I to properly wield our new magic. He had done it. For the first time in our life, I stood separate from Liana. I took a step toward her and ruffled her thick coat as she nuzzled me in return. She then turned her regal form toward Aiden, bowing in submission. “Do you think….” he began hesitantly, “That is… Ronan wants out.” “I don’t see why not.” I responded thoughtfully. That was all I could manage. It stood to reason that if he had manifested Liana’s spirit corporeally, that he could do the same with his own wolf. “Try it…” I looked on in awe as Aiden harnessed the spirit magic of the Druids. I saw the moment Ronan’s spirit was extracted and it took the form of a magnificent black wolf. Ronan bowed his head submissively toward Aiden, a gesture of thanks, before he stalked toward Liana. They each looked at us for permission before taking off into the forest.

Selene POV “Most of the vampire legends you would have heard as a child are true. But there is often a great amount of misinformation when it comes to how Vlad Tepesh came to be the original Vampire.” “He didn’t sell his soul to the devil in exchange for power?” “Not exactly… He tried, and he might have succeeded if the blood sacrifice he used to attempt to summon the devil wasn’t a werewolf.” I looked at Aiden, hoping he would be able to read between the lines, but the confusion on his face forced me to go into more detail. “By killing a werewolf, he summoned my mother. She threatened to take his life for killing one of her children but he bargained. He swore fealty to her in exchange for the power he sought. Aiden POV Selene and I lay panting on the grass. I was still insider her, trying to catch my breath. The sound of the panting grew louder as we turned our heads to see our wolves standing a few feet away, with amused expressions on their dog-like faces. "Looks like we weren't the only ones enjoying our alone time." Ronan's voice flooded my mind. Interesting, I hadn't considered that we could still communicate when he was in a separate, bodily form. "Good, you're back," I said, my voice edged with sarcasm as I rolled off my mate. "I'm afraid I'll need you both to return to your spirit forms. We are to return to the mortal realm." Selene POV As we sat, crammed on the antique chesterfield couch that sat in the corner of the Alpha's chambers, I took a moment to scan my surroundings. An Alpha's chambers were designed to radiate power. This was done by both design and furnishing. The room had one entry and exit point, and the Alpha's desk faced the entry directly. In the corner, a large, open fire sat crackling away— a beverage tray sitting nearby, adorned with expensive Irish whiskey. The chesterfield, where we were seated, ran along the opposite wall. In the mortal realm, even where werewolves were concerned, money and possessions were symbols of power and Alpha Donal's chambers were exactly that. Finally, having had enough of being wedged between my sister and my mate, I stood up, causing the Alpha who had been perched at his desk, eyeing some kind of correspondence with a furrowed brow to finally break his concentration and look our way.
