Lycan Mark

"Baby girl," Logan said in a commanding tone and she instantly became quiet. That's when she opened her eyes and looked at the man hovering over her with a frown.

When Hera opened her eyes, Logan could see fear. He is confused.

'She had a nightmare?' he thought with concern.

She is shaking with fear and tears began to stream down her cheeks.

"What happened? You had a bad dream?" he asked her softly.

She shook her head, unable to speak through her tears.

Logan frowned. Even though he couldn't understand what is wrong with her, her fear is making him angry. He wanted to kill the person who put that look in her eyes. He pulled her into a hug and made her sit in his lap. On instinct, she wrapped her arms around his abdomen and rested her head on his chest. Logan slowly stroked her hair. When she finally calmed down and her shivering stopped, he decided to ask her what happened. 

"What happened just now?" he asked her softly.

Hera closed her eyes when she remembered her pack Beta's face. Fear began to crawl up her spine and she began to shake again. 

Whatever the reason might be, Logan is becoming very protective of Hera. He is not understanding this strange reaction towards her. But she is touching a part in his heart that he thought died a long time ago. It's as if she is giving his heart a new life.

"Shh. Baby girl, calm down. I will protect you. I promise I will help you. But you have to tell me what happened and what scared you so much" he coaxed her softly.

Hera is so moved by his gesture, she decided to tell him where her fear came from. No one has ever offered her to help even though she begged them to help her. But now, this man is offering to help her. She did not know if he would help or not, but his offer moved her heart.

"My fathers best friend is my pack's Beta. He has a son my age. But he always find reasons to touch me. Initially, I used to think that he is like my father and I tried not to misunderstand him. But the day I turned 16, he snuck into the basement where I usually sleep and tried to touch me in the wrong way. I was shocked and pushed him away and threatened him that I would scream. I was sure he never would want his reputation to be ruined. So he left that day. But since then, he always used to sneak up on me when I was alone. So I tried my best to stay within the reach of people, even though that's the last thing I wanted to do. That's one of the main reasons I decided to run away from my pack. I was scared he would succeed one day and force himself on me" she whispered the last part with tears in her eyes.

Logan gritted his teeth angrily. 

'What kind of asshole would molest a girl who is of his son's age? I would kill him if at all he crosses my path' he thought angrily.

'You are right. Such a sweet girl and he tried to taint her innocence? And what kind of a father would refuse to help his daughter?' Ray fumed.

"I know it must be hard for you to trust a total stranger. But baby girl, just like I promised, I will protect you. Even in my absence, my protection spell will stay with you. It will protect you from the people like that Beta" he offered his protection.

Hera looked at him with awe. 

'If he could do that, then I no longer need to be scared of anyone again' she thought, as hope blossomed in her heart.

"Really?" she asked with surprise. Her face lit up with a relieved smile, which mesmerised him.

"Really" he replied, feeling happy that she is happy.

Hera frowned.

"But, what is a protection spell?" she asked with confusion.

Logan forgot that she doesn't know anything about Lycan's. So he decided to explain. He found her cute, even though she is ignorant of Lycan culture.

"A few Lycan's can cast a protective spell on whoever he wants to protect. After I cast that spell, no one would be able to touch you without your permission. If anyone touches you and if you don't like it, then that person would suffer an unbearable pain until the moment he moves away from you" he explained.

Hera smiled brightly.

"You could do that? After that, no one would be able to touch me? I will be safe?" she asked with childlike excitement.

Logan softly caressed her cheek. She is looking so ethereal when she smiles. 

"Yes, no one can touch you without your consent. Even I won't be able to touch you if you don't want me to" he confirmed.

Hera laughed with happiness. But then a thought crossed her mind.

"Wait, what if I like a guy? Will he be in pain as well if he touches me?" she asked innocently.

He smiled at her question softly.

If it's any other woman, then they would have jumped with joy the moment he proposed to give them his protection mark. But Hera is so innocent, that she is not understanding the importance of what he suggested. He wanted her to always remain so pure-hearted like she is now. She is not yet tainted with the darkness of the world. He wanted to protect her and never let her experience the horror's of the world.

"The protection spell will leave a visible mark on your body. That mark will become a part of you. No one can see it. Only you and I can see it. If you really love a guy and if he touches your heart, then Mark would know that you would welcome his touch. That would be the day my mark would disappear completely. That would be the day you would find someone who would cherish you and protect you. You no longer would need my mark than" he explained. 

He intentionally skipped the most important part. Casting a Lycan spell is considered as an intimate thing between a male and female. If a male Lycan cast this spell on any female, she would be considered as his until the mark disappears.
