10: THE MEETING

When King Alpha Daelous arrived and quickly sat in his respective chairs, then the three Alphas all bowed their heads. Then they also sit in their chairs, with their assistants beside them. "I hadn't arrived yet, and you've already caused a commotion; what happened?" he asks, looking at them one by one.

"They're just having a small argument, Your Highness; it's not a big deal," Beta Venice replied, making him nod his head in response.

"What was the meeting for, My King?" Alpha Matrix asks, intertwining his fingers and looking at him.

"It is about the prophecy. You all already know what was the prophecy was talking about, right? A human will live in our territory that will lead to a disaster of our kind," the king replied.

"Then why not just get rid of that human so the prophecy doesn't come true?" Alpha Matrix suggested, prompting Alpha Zen to snicker. Alpha Matrix looks at him intently because he thinks Alpha Zen is teasing him with his laugh.

"Are you out of your mind, Alpha Matrix? It is the prophecy we are talking about. It means, even if you tried to escape from it, you can't. It will happen when the time that it should be happen. Instead of running away from the prophecy, why not we take some actions to at least lessen it, right? Also, the lady is not the cause here. She is the sign. The warning," Beta Scott informed him in a way that caused him to click his tongue in irritation.

"Shut your mouth, I am not talking to you," Alpha Matrix said authoritatively, causing Beta Scott to shut his mouth in order to avoid another fight. However, he becomes irritated at times and wishes to defend himself, but decides not to.

"Everyone can express their opinions in the meeting, Alpha Matrix; that is why the Betas are here, isn't it?" Beta Gavin defends Beta Scott. Alpha Matrix clenched his fist and never spoke.

"Enough of that, everyone; let us focus on our plans and preparations for the future dilemma that will come at us, or some predictions about who might be the wolves that will destroy our kingdom," King Alpha Daelous says, attempting to calm the wolves around him.

"My King! I have something to tell," Alpha Zen interjected made the others to look at him. "Yey, I finally got your attention!" he added.

"Come on, kid. Just tell us already," Alpha Matrix speaks.

"In my territory, I have been seeing rogues around the area secretly trying to head inside. I let my genius investigator to investigate the place they seen him and saw him talking about something. When he investigate further, he saw gems and accessories around the area. We don't know what are their plans yet, however, it is kind of weird to discuss only about the female's accessories," Alpha Zen said. This led them all to speculate about what he was talking about.

"Accessories? What are they going to do about it?" Alpha Arther asks, glancing at Alpha Zen. "When did you seen him?"

"It was two days ago, and now they're still doing it. I let them be to know what are their plans, I already sent a spy to check on them and I am already received an update," Alpha Zen replied then took the paper from Mr. Bayne. "Here, this is what my spy took. It is a letter that was sent to the Rogues," he added.

The letter mentioned the meeting place. It also demonstrates that the person who entered Alpha Zen's territory is a rogue. They are requesting that the spy rogues operating within his territory meet to discuss their plans. The rogues are permitted to enter the kingdom, but they must provide identification and a permit to prove that they are a rogue. However, in recent years, the rogues appear to have abandoned attempts to follow the kingdom's rules and regulations. It became one of the issues that King Alpha Daelous sought to resolve.

"Then gave us another update on this matter, Zen," King Alpha Daelous said seriously. Alpha Zen gave him a smile. "Good job," he said, and handed him a candy, which made him happy.

"Thank you!" Alpha Zen expressed.

They are now dismissed after a two-hour discussion. Alpha Arther was about to go outside when King Alpha Daelous called his name, prompting him to turn around and look at him. "What is it, Daelous?" he asks.

Arther and Daelous have been close since they were children, and they have made a deal to call each other by their names as a sign of friendship. "I need your help with this; send a spy to the Rogues' location and keep me updated; I know your pack is good at this; I trust you," he replied, patting Arther on the shoulder.

"I will," he pauses for a moments then speaks again. "You still don't want to replace Alpha Matrix, don't you? You can still choose some Beta to be the Kingdom's shield; I'm not sure why you chose him when you already know what his personality is," Arther says, causing Daelous to chuckle.

"Alpha Matrix is reliable and good at defense; he knows more tactics and strategies that we could use in the future," he replied, causing Arther to sigh heavily.

"I guess I really don't have a choice, huh? But I keep on advising to not trust him. There are so many things you need to consider to chose a trusted man, Daelous. Not because he is the Alpha of the Imperial Howlers, doesn't mean he is realiable enough," Arther said while nodding his head in agreement.

Alpha Matrix, on the other hand, became enraged and attempted to punch Arther in the face after hearing what they were talking about. Still he chooses not to. He calmed down and began walking away so that the two wouldn't catch him. He looks at the brooch he's wearing. "Lucky to have this, they didn't notice my presence is still here," he tells himself as he walks out of the meeting room.
