CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

As I look at him, hearing his words, a cold anger fills me.

“Are you really threatening to use my family against me?” I sneer. “The same ones who sold me off to you, knowing what you had in store for me?”

Even as his words have horrified me, this is my last-ditch attempt at protecting them. They may have done wrong by me, and they may have stabbed a knife in my back, but it doesn’t mean I want them to suffer. Under the hurt and betrayal, there is still love. I hate myself for it, but I can’t stop how I feel.

Jason’s eyes narrow, “We’ll see if you’re singing the same tune when I rip them apart in front of you.”

“Enough!” Adam inserts himself between us, snarling. “Don’t talk to my Luna!”

Jason sneers, his voice calmer now, “I’ll see how long she remains your Luna. When I have her family splayed out in front of me, she’ll come crawling to me on her hands and feet. Just you wait.”
