I couldn’t stop the heaviness that settled inside me. My chest hurt, and breathing felt like a fight I kept losing.

No matter how hard I tried to pull myself together, I just couldn't.

Justin’s rage had cut me open. I kept telling myself it was temporary and that his anger would burn itself out. His disappointment crushed me, each word making it harder to breathe.
