Ezra screamed as he went after his mother, jumping off the balcony with her, in a hopeless attempt to catch her. She already fell, and she hit her head.

"Mom... mom." He called as he crouched and lifted the upper half of her body. He felt moisture on the back of her head which he mistakenly touched. With a trembling hand, he pulled the silver dagger away from her stomach, but his heart nearly stopped when he saw her bleeding so much. "Shit, Fuck!"
