And so, at night, Helio and Danae would slip out together, dressed in dark clothes that allowed them to blend seamlessly into the crowd.

Each night, she led him through the pack lands and into the town beyond, showing him a world he had only ever imagined. She taught him things no one else had ever bothered to, how to observe people, how to listen without being seen, how to understand life beyond stone walls and locked doors.

I don’t understand the reason because one is older or one cud be the beta!! Make it make sense. Now we see the council had something to do with the alpha family deaths. Callisto n his daughter crooked ppl but Helio’s nephew is innocent!
