**Atlas**

I watched from my seat as men and women swayed and danced to the music. I didn't miss the way young females glided past me, sending seductive glances and putting their womanly parts on full display. On any other day, I would take one or two to my chamber and give them what they wanted, but tonight, none of it enticed me. Infact, I was repulsed by it all. Frustration welled up inside me as I wondered why I came out in the first place. I mind linked Kyle, my second in command, that I was leaving. Then I stood up and maneuvered through the crowd and out of the palace.

Stepping under the moonlight, it brought me a feeling of peace and serenity. But then a wave of sadness washed over me. It was all useless. I felt stupid for hoping. I couldn't find her all these years. Tonight isn't any different. I felt the all familiar feeling of rage slowly build up at my chest. I needed to breathe or I'll explode. I shifted to my wolf and sprinted into the forest, with the full moon as my only source of light. I sped past trees and shrubs, focusing on the feel of wet earth beneath my feet. Running has always helped me take my mind off things.

I reached a large clearing deep into the forests and stopped. Shifting back to my human form, I turned to the night sky, savoring the feel of moonlight on my bare form. Maybe this is the moon Goddess's cruel way of punishing me. Maybe I am doomed to be a mateless wolf. I closed my eyes as I took in a long, deep breath. The air smelled of wet Earth and plants. But then a subtle yet intoxicating aroma wafted through my nostrils, captivating my senses. Lavender's calming essence, merged with a hint of citrus, engulfed me. I opened my eyes. What was that scent? Whatever it was, it smelled like Heaven. I took in another breath, savoring the feeling as it calmed my senses.

Suddenly, the scent was accompanied by the strong metallic smell of blood. My entire body froze, my senses on high alert. I scanned around, and my eyes settled on a fallen tree, a few yards from where I stood. That must be where the scent is coming from. In one split moment, I was on the other side of the tree, and I was taken aback by the scene before me.

Even under the pale moonlight, I could clearly see the beautiful, petite structure of a female, sitting on the bare wet ground, unconscious. A huge gash extended from her upper thigh down to her knee, and blood dripped out. My heart twisted at the gruesome sight. What was a pretty female doing out in the forest at midnight?

From the amount of blood dripping out, it was obvious that she got the wound a while ago. Strange, a normal wolf should have healed by now.

My mind racing, I knelt beside her, captivated to help. My senses got clouded in that intoxicating smell of Lavender and citrus again, making my inner wolf purr in delight. Mate. A voice in my head whispered. This beautiful lady in distress was my mate. She stayed unconscious, and her chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm. I immediately wanted to know who did this to her. I wanted to strangle them and hang their bodies on a stake.

Suddenly, soldiers came sprinting towards our way. Curiosity got the best of me. I want to know what was happening.

They all shifted to their human form, and one of them came forward.

“Alpha” He bent his his head in submission

“What is going on here?” I asked.

“This slave was trying to escape. She already sneaked out of the palace before we noticed. We would gladly accept our punishment for our lack of concentration” The guard said guiltily. He is Collin, kind of my patrol guards.

Slave? My mind jammed at the possibilities, but I didn't want to believe.

“What do you mean she is a slave?”

I stared back at the female on the bare ground. Her body slightly shivered from the night cold. Normal werewolves hardly react to cold. This explained my theory. It also explained why her thigh isn't healing. The answer stared at me blankly but I didn't want to believe it.

“She is a human, my Lord”.

Chapter 12***Atlas***“We need to send the humans away for good!”“Yes!”I sat at the head of the long conference table, listening as the elders argued. The meeting had been going on for a while now, and I could already feel a headache beginning to form.“They're getting smarter,” one of the elders, an elderly man, mused. “They must be receiving help from inside the pack. Probably the humans here are helping them.”“Regardless, they're proving to be a threat. The sooner they're wiped out, the better. Most of the other packs think the same.”The elders nodded in agreement.“It's about time we get rid of them.”I leaned back in my chair.“I agree,” I said. “But we should take into consideration that humans are not the only creatures we are up against.”They all fell silent, listening to what I had to say.I sat up. “Most of the victims of these attacks have visible wolf marks on their body,” I explained. “If humans really are involved in this, then wolves are also helping them.”The el

***Astrid***I stood at Oona’s grave, tears burning in my eyes. She hadn’t even been given a headstone. The pack had decided she wasn’t worth it. Just a cheap wooden plank driven into the dirt, her name scratched across it messily. The grave stood idle, like it carried some contagious disease. Because she was human.A bitter scoff scraped out of me. Even the people who had watched her die weren’t here.I moved slowly to Ophelia’s grave, fresh garlands in hand. The guilt still sat heavy in my chest, as if her blood were on my hands. I pressed a shaky palm to the cool stone.“I’m sorry,” I whispered. “I’m so sorry this happened to you.”The question I couldn’t shake rose again: *Who’s next?* How many humans had to die before everyone admitted these wolves were rabid?Behind me, a cluster of girls broke into giggles. In a graveyard. The sound grated against my skin.“She’s the Alpha’s personal whore for now,” one of them whispered, loud enough to carry. “That’s why she’s always in his

  • The Alpha's Human Luna    Dinner With My Executioner

***Astrid***I'm running. The jagged twigs tugged sharply at my flesh, drawing blood. My chest and lungs burned severely, but I couldn't stop, because they're behind me. Wolves. The large, enormous monsters, six or seven of them, were hot on my tail. A pack of scary-looking wolves. Their fangs dripped with saliva as their bloodshot eyes locked on me, like predators on prey. Dread filled me up. I increased my pace, but the universe was against me. I tripped forcefully to the ground and felt an intense, blinding pain as one of them gripped my left leg.A loud scream tore out of me, almost blinding my vision. Looking up, I saw the rest of the wolves close in on me.I let out a gasp as I woke up. My eyes darted around frantically, but there were no wolves in sight, just the cold, damp stone walls of my cell closing in. Iron bars separated me from the dim corridor beyond, and the air stank of mildew and old blood. Chains rattled faintly when I shifted on the thin straw pallet

  • The Alpha's Human Luna    Nothing but Disgust

***Atlas*** Sweat dripped from my face as I drove another brutal hook into the soldier’s guard. The impact jarred up my arm, painful, but satisfying in a way nothing else had been lately. The young soldier staggered back a step, boots scraping against the training mat, but he didn’t go down. Good. I needed the resistance. “Again,” I growled. He reset his stance, jaw tight, eyes wary but determined. I feinted left, then slammed a right cross hit that clipped his shoulder pad hard enough to make him grunt. The pack needed warriors who could take punishment, not crumple like paper. I'd always made it a ritual to spar with every new recruit, so I can test their strength and give corrections where necessary. I lunged again, faster this time, forcing the soldier to block desperately. His arms buckled under the force, and he slid a few feets away. “Enough,” Kyle called from the side of the mat, arms crossed. He’d been watching the whole session, silent until now. I stepped back, chest

  • The Alpha's Human Luna    The monster listens

***Astrid*** My heart felt like it was going to explode. That man was so close to me, his cinnamon-y scent invading my head space. I hated how he affected my thoughts. I'm supposed to hate him, not gush over him. It's not my fault that the universe decided to bless that monster in every possible way. Now that my task for the day is suspended, I quickly headed back to my room. But I needed to speak with Ophelia first. I headed straight for her room, but she wasn't there. I headed back to the kitchen, she probably was still with Sasha and her minions. Suddenly, some soldiers trooped in. “A human maid was just found dead in the West side of the forest. Everyone is advised to avoid that area, as the murderer is yet to be found.” What? “Ophelia. Where is she? You were the last person with her.” I asked Sasha. Her face was as white as a ghost, with dried tears stuck to her cheeks. A couple red stains were on her apron. Blood. “I…we all went outside for some fresh air, and she was
