Jace's POV

"That was so rough. We barely made it out of there." Nina ranted as we stepped out of the woods. It was dawn already. We weren't able to return to the pack last night because we couldn't find our way out. We could actually kill the rogues standing in our way but saving our energies and finding a safe place for the night looked like the better option.

"It could have been much easier if Killian or Kate was around. Both are keen on saving me and you, respectively. But we did. The guards were functional. There were no casualties, especially because of the decision I made, which is to remain in the woods till the following morning." I replied to her.

She didn't say anything else till we reached Velmora. The guards moved forward to ensure no one would approach us while some stayed behind. Smiles tugged at our lips as we realized the level of respect from the wolves of Velmora. It was outstanding. And leaders would be motivated to save and lead these people with honesty.
