18. A Hidden Switch
Bayswater Beach
The next morning, Annabelle woke up to the phone ringing incessantly in her ear. She groaned in protest, her hands clawing cluelessly around the bed as she kept her eyes closed. Her fingers touched the cool surface of her phone and moments later she heard a distinct thump, the damned phone had fallen to the floor.
The ringing stopped and Annabelle sighed in relief.
Just as she was returning to slumber, the ringing restarted. This time followed by a loud voice booming in her head.
"Oh for the love of God! Would you just ANSWER the BLOODY PHONE!" Romeo's voice resounded in her brain causing her body to automatically sit bolt upright on the bed.

I woke up the next morning groggy and grumpy. To be honest, I barely slept at all, having conversed almost the whole night with Romeo in my dream state and now I'm paying for it by waking up late.
