I just attacked!
“I’d taken on bigger bullies,” I muttered and gave a nonchalant shrug. It hadn’t been much of a fight either. I just gave my wolf control and let him do his thing. He got badly wounded, but he didn’t stop until the rogue wasn’t moving anymore.
Once the rouge was dead, we'd turned to Mick. Demanding submission. He’d taken on the challenger. It was his right! Mick lowered his eyes and exposed his neck. And soon the pack followed.
I was the alpha!
And it suddenly hit me that I never really appreciated my wolf for the times he protected the people we loved. He never gave up in a fight. He was difficult to control, sure, but there was a reason for that. I’d just grown accustomed to always having to fight him, I had forgotten to appreciate his reason to fight…
He protected us.
All of us.
