“Alpha?”
I jolted awake, feeling disoriented and confused for the first time in years. Since becoming alpha, I’d gotten into a state of mind, of never being completely unaware of what was going on around me. Even in my sleep, I was ready for an attack or emergency.
But apparently, sitting by my sick mate and crying my heart out, tired me out more than I realized. It was like a dam with years of suppressed feelings, that just broke free and washed over me. Destroying everything inside me. But in a way that still felt good. Cleansing even. I was nothing but empty right now, but it wasn’t bad or lonely, because, at the bottom of it all, there was Dina. She was the first stone of my new foundation!
But right now, everything was a blur and even my wolf was still asleep, standing on his legs. I turned around and came face to face with Mick--- way too close to my face!
