CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY

We need a way to defeat Malcolm and his Flagstaff pack once and for all. Now that they’ve teamed up with Weston and the Serpent’s Creek bear clan, they’re a huge danger to all of us and our loved ones back in San Diego and Santa Cruz.

Which means I’ve had to wrack my brain for anything I can think of. And some ideas start to come to me.

Things that I try not to think about. Things I’ve never tried before. Things I really don’t want to do.

But things I think could work. Things we might have to do. Things that could save us from this enemy intent on murder and kidnapping and destroying the beautiful little family Zach and Orsina are trying to build.

“What’s your idea?” Jasper asks. He reaches out his hand, which is wrapped in bandages after he cut it helping me out of the camper window, and rests it on mine. “We’re all listening.”

“So,” I explain, “there’s something we have back at the Howling Wolf base in Santa Cruz. Well, not something. Someone.”
