Zolani’s POV

Snow fell thick and lazy over Dublin Airport, blanketing the roofs and the old stone pillars like someone had torn open a bag of powdered sugar and shaken it over the entire country. The air smelled sharp, cold pine, jet fuel, and something darker, richer, older. Old money. Werewolf money. The kind that built castles before America was even a fever dream.

I barely had time to shiver before a shriek ripped through the arrivals hall.

“ZEE, YOU SEXY VIRGIN BITCH!”

There she was, Aradia Blackthorne in all her unhinged glory vaulting over the barricade like an Olympic hurdler, boots up to her thighs, white faux-fur coat hanging open, wild black curls flying everywhere. She waved a massive cardboard sign that just said ZOLANI in bright red lipstick, hearts doodled all over it. People turned to stare. Phones came out but i trust her to not give a single fuck.

I hadn’t even dropped my suitcase before she tackled me, arms crushing my ribs, perfume and snow and pure chaos slamming into me.

“You’re here! You’re actually fucking here!” She spun me so hard my carry-on went flying. “I told Dad you’d show, but he was all ‘humans are flaky little creatures, she’ll bail.’ Ha! Pay up, Daddy!”

Daddy.

The word punched me straight between the legs and my knees almost buckled.

Aradia finally let me breathe, grabbed my face with both gloved hands, and kissed me square on the mouth, loud, dramatic, tasting like peppermint schnapps at ten in the morning. “Goddess, I missed your prissy little Catholic face.”

I laughed, but it came out shaky. My eyes were already scanning the crowd like a junkie looking for a fix... black hair, storm-grey eyes, shoulders that could block out the sun. Nothing. Yet every hair on my body stood up like he was watching from the shadows anyway.

Aradia snatched my suitcase from my numb fingers and shoved it at a liveried driver who looked terrified of her. Then she hooked her arm through mine and dragged me outside into the snow like a hurricane wearing lip gloss.

The car waiting for us was obscene, matte-black Maybach, longer than my apartment, tinted windows darker than sin. The driver opened the door and the scent hit me first, leather, cedar, and that same dark spice that lived in my nightmares and my wet dreams. I almost moaned out loud.

Aradia shoved me into the back seat, climbed in after me, and slammed the door. The partition was already up. Privacy glass. Of course.

She flopped back against the seat, kicked her boots up on the opposite armrest, and grinned like a demon who’d just been handed the keys to hell.

“So. How’s the fiancé? Has Saint Evan finally stuck his sad little human dick in you, or are we still waiting for papal approval?”

My jaw dropped. The driver definitely heard that. “Aradia!”

“What?” She shrugged, completely unbothered. “Relax. They’re paid to pretend they’re deaf. Besides...” she leaned in, nostrils flaring theatrically...“I can smell you from here, Zee. You’re leaking like a broken faucet. Unmated wolves are gonna lose their shit if you walk around the lodge smelling like a walking invitation to breed.”

Heat flooded my face. “I am not...”

“Bullshit.” She reached over and pinched my thigh hard. “Your scent’s so strong right now I could bottle it and sell it as aphrodisiac. Virgin cunt on desperate mode. Delicious.”

I slapped her hand away, mortified and turned on at the same time. “You’re disgusting.”

“And you’re starving.” She wiggled her eyebrows. “Don’t worry, bestie. Two weeks with me and we’ll have you properly deflowered. I’ll find you a nice wolf boy with a knot the size of...”

“Aradia, I swear to God...”

“Relax, I’m kidding.” She paused, grin turning evil. “Mostly.”

Then, without warning, she lunged, both hands grabbing my boobs through my sweater and squeezing like she was testing fruit.

I shrieked so loud the driver swerved.

“Jesus Christ, Aradia!”

She cackled, falling back into the seat, tears streaming. “Look at you! Still got the factory seal and everything. I’m doing charity work here.”

I clutched my chest, heart trying to punch through my ribs. “You’re literally the devil.”

“Nah. Just the devil’s favorite daughter.” She wiped her eyes, still giggling.

“Speaking of... Dad’s at the lodge already. Been in a pissy mood for days. Something about pack politics and a rogue on the border. You’ll see him at dinner. Try not to faint when he walks in. I swear the man’s presence drops panties at fifty paces.”

My stomach flipped so hard I tasted metal but I shook my head to push the thoughts off my head. The man in question is my best friend’s father and I'm a good girl… a good girl with a faithful and lovely fiancé. So get it together Zolani… get your whore shit together!

Aradia kept talking, filthy, joyful, unstoppable, but I barely heard her. The car climbed higher into the mountains, snow thickening, pines closing in like walls. Every mile felt like a countdown.

Then the lodge came into view.

It wasn’t a house. It was a fortress carved from black stone and old money, windows glowing gold against the white, towers clawing at the sky. Smoke curled from a dozen chimneys. Wolves, actual wolves lounged on the front steps like they owned the place.

And standing at the top of the stairs, arms crossed, coat open despite the cold, was Cassian Blackthorne.

He didn’t move or wave, not like I was expecting him to, he just watched the car approach with those storm-grey eyes that had ruined me four months ago.

The driver stopped and my door opened.

Aradia hopped out, still laughing about something crude.

I couldn’t move.

Because Cassian’s gaze locked on me through the open door, nostrils flaring like he’d just caught the scent of his favorite meal and the slow, filthy smile that spread across his face told me one thing and one thing only... he knew, like he really knew exactly how wet I was and dinner hadn’t even started yet.

Zolani’s pov.I turned back to Ronan and hesitated again. The song swelled, slow, intimate and Ronan stepped a fraction closer, hand still offered. “One dance,” he said softly, voice cutting through the bass. “No strings. No expectations. Just… let me show you how it feels.”The words hit low, warm, and tempting.I glanced at Cassian once more. His jaw tightened, visible even from here.I looked back at Ronan, took a breath and placed my hand in his.Ronan’s fingers closed around mine, gentle, and warm, no possession in the grip.He pulled me close, slowly and, respectfully, hand settling on my waist lightly, the other holding mine at shoulder height. We started to move, slow, in time with the music, his steps confident but easy, leading without forcing.“You’re tense,” he murmured after a few beats, voice low against my ear. “Relax. I don’t bite… unless asked.”I laughed nervous and lightly, trying to shake off the way Cassian’s gaze still burned into my back. “That’s reassuring.”He

  • The Alpha's Naughty Human   22: Stepping Out..

Zolani’s POV I followed Cassian down the stairs, each step heavier than the last, the noise and music swelling louder with every descent. The deep bass vibrating through the stone, laughter rolling, voices overlapping in a dozen accents. My heart was trying to punch its way out of my chest, so I focused on breathing, in through the nose, out through the mouth, slow, and steady, like the therapist had taught me years ago when the anxiety attacks started. It wasn’t working. My palms were slick, my stomach a knotted mess, and the sapphire dress suddenly felt like it was painted on, every sway of my hips, every flash of thigh through the slit, screaming look at me.I hesitated on the landing, one hand gripping the banister like it could anchor me. I needed a second. Just one second to remember how to exist in a room full of people who could smell every secret I was trying to hide.Cassian stopped too.He turned, slowly, those storm-grey eyes locking on mine.“Come,” he said quietly. It w

  • The Alpha's Naughty Human   21: His Gentleness.

Zolani’s POVDownstairs was alive, I could hear music pulsing through the floorboards, laughter rolling, voices overlapping in a dozen languages, glasses clinking, and boots stomping. The energy leaked up the stairs and it was tempting, promising fun, connection, chaos. I wanted to be part of it. I wanted to walk in, smile, dance, let myself get swept up in the madness of a werewolf post wedding celebration. But my feet wouldn’t move. This was Aradia’s night. Her grooms had arrived hours ago, and the three of them were probably tangled up somewhere in the crowd, laughing, kissing, being the center of everything. She didn’t need to babysit me. She shouldn’t have to.And that left me… alone. Not just alone in a room. Alone in a house full of wolves who weren’t human, who scented everything, who moved like predators even when they were smiling.I didn’t know their customs, their inside jokes, their rules. I didn’t know how to talk to them without feeling like a child trying to play wit

  • The Alpha's Naughty Human   20:The Million-Dollar Lie

Zolani’s pov We finished breakfast in companionable chaos, pack members drifting over to hug Aradia, tease her about the wedding, and ask me endless questions about “human traditions.”I answered politely, smiled when I was supposed to, laughed when they expected it. My plate was empty, my coffee cold, and my stomach was full but the moment I pushed back my chair, Aradia grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the dining hall like she had a mission.“Should I give Ronan your contact info?” she announced as we moved down the corridor, her voice loud enough to echo off the stone walls. “And yes...he’s willing to pay a million to get it from me.”“What!” I rolled my eyes so hard I felt it in my skull. “That’s unrealistic.”She laughed bright, and unhinged. “Girl, he’s old money. Loaded. Not as rich as Daddy, but he could buy half this town without blinking. So should I give it to him? I take the money and give you. Savings. Capital. Whatever you want.”I opened my mouth to tell her no, f

  • The Alpha's Naughty Human   19: What She Deserves.

Zolani’s POVI paced the room like a trapped animal, phone clutched in one hand, thumb swiping the screen every few seconds as if sheer willpower could force Evan’s name to appear. But nothing happened. No missed call. No text. No “sorry I missed you, babe, why did you end my call” or even a lame emoji. Just silence. The same cold, indifferent silence I’d gotten used to over the years.I deserved better.I deserved to be loved the way other girls were, the way they are loved fiercely, obsessively, and stupidly. I deserved late-night calls just because someone missed my voice.I deserved flowers for no reason, silly arguments that ended in make-up sex, someone who’d drop everything when I was spiraling. I deserved to throw a tantrum, loud, childish, irrational and have someone wrap me up, kiss my forehead, and say, “Okay, baby, tell me what you need.”I wanted to be spoiled, damn it.I kicked the chair hard, wood scraping across the floor with a satisfying screech.“Curse you, Evan,” I

Zolani’s POV“Little human…”The voice pulled me out of the dark like a hook through my sternum. My eyes snapped open.Morning light sliced through the heavy curtains, it was soft gold, and almost gentle, nothing like the storm that had raged last night. The room smelled of dying embers, expensive sheets, and… him. Pine. Smoke. Blood long gone but still haunting the air and I wonder why his scent was so strong in my room.I blinked. My head throbbed sharp, and insistent, like someone had taken a hammer to my skull while I slept.“Ouch…”I clutched my temples, fingers pressing hard against the ache, trying to force the fog to clear.I remembered fragments.I’d come back to the room after the hallway… after Cassian had dragged me away from Ronan’s car, after he’d pinned me against him and kissed me like he wanted to devour my soul.I’d stumbled inside, robe falling open, body still screaming for him. I’d touched myself, slow at first, then frantic, his name spilling from my lips like a
