The next day, in the morning, the second son of the Lanton Family, Samuel Lanton, strode into the front gate of the 34-story company building.

About an hour ago, Mrs. Mead, the housekeeper of his big brother, Vincent, called him and said Vincent had a huge fight with his mate, Talia, again.

Samuel skipped his history class in college and came to visit Vincent.

He said “Hello” to the girl at the front desk with a charming smile as usual, and then got inside the elevator.

After the elevator stopped at the 30th floor, he got out and waved his hand to Vincent’s secretary, Sophia, with a shining grin.

Sophia smiled back at him in shyness like most girls did. Samuel then went straight to his big brother’s office door.

He knocked on the closed door three times and said, “It’s me, bro. Can I come in?”

No replies came from inside. Samuel waited for 5 seconds, and then pushed the door open.

Inside, the first son of the Lanton Family, and the legit inheritor of the Lanton Group, Vincent Lanton, was sitting behind his office desk with his back to the window.

His handsome face was as pale as a sheet and the corner of his left eye was twitching out of pain and anger, plus the surging fury in his dark eyes, he now looked like a brutal monster who was about to eat people.

Samuel sighed, in his head. Before Vincent got injured in that battle with rogues and went into a coma, he was a very nice person, always had smiles on his face.

But it changed after Vincent woke up about one year ago. He lost his wolf for unknown reasons, along with part of his memories.

He didn’t remember their father had died, or he had already found his mate, Talia, or he had already had a son with her.

At first, Vincent was very confused about everything. He asked to meet their father, and refused to admit Talia as his mate. But as time went by, Vincent eventually accepted all those changed realities. Only his temper grew crankier along with that.

It was disheartening, but Samuel wouldn’t blame his big brother for that.

If it were him who woke up from a long sleep and was suddenly informed that he had already lost his father, and had already had a strange wife and a 4-year-old son, he would have become a cranky nut too.

Especially when Vincent’s mate, Talia, was a total bitch who irritated everyone around her.

Samuel could never understand how Vincent accepted Talia in the first place and slept with her.

Talia was so not Vincent’s type. It just didn’t seem right.

He sighed again, in his head, noticing Vincent’s left hand on the desk was still bleeding under a blood-soaked towel as Mrs. Mead had guessed.

He quickly went to the cabinet beside the wall and took out a first-aid kit from inside it.

It had been happening more and more frequently recently. Vincent hurt himself by smashing all the glass and mirrors in his bedroom with his fist whenever he had a fight with Talia. And he refused to see a doctor after that.

“You know you aren’t married, right?”

After pulling a chair to sit beside Vincent, Samuel said, and then put the first-aid kit on the desk.

“I mean, even if you were married, you could always get divorced. The Moon Goddess granted us the right of rejection. I don’t see any harm in using it,” Samuel tried to put it with a casual tone while undressing the soaked towel on his big brother’s fist.

Without a wolf, Vincent was unable to heal himself. The wounds on his hand were too horrible to even look at.

Samuel frowned unpleasantly when he tried to pick out those broken glasses from Vincent’s knuckles with a tweezer.

He wasn’t a doctor, just picked up some medical knowledge on college optional courses. But he knew if Vincent kept hurting himself like this, sooner or later, he would lose his hand, even his arm.

Samuel was a nice person like Vincent used to be. He rarely got angry at others, but he seriously hated Talia. That woman was a total disaster. Everything in the family changed after she showed up. There were always endless fights and complaints. Servants quit frequently, and she didn’t even take care of her own child.

Charlie was already 5 years old, but he hadn’t said one word yet. The pack’s doctor had the boy checked. The result was fine. He wasn’t sick or disabled. He just refused to speak for some unknown reason. And Talia didn’t even care about it. She wouldn’t even hold the boy.

Samuel could never understand why his big brother hadn’t chased Talia away. She was irritating him too. Every time Samuel saw Vincent, Vincent got worse than last time, both physically and mentally.

Vincent didn’t answer Samuel’s question. He just looked at his bleeding, broken hand with a darkened, twitching face.

He knew he shouldn’t be acting like this. He wasn’t a violent person who would lose his temper easily, but he just couldn’t help himself.

From the moment he woke up, every time he saw Talia, he wanted to punch her stupid, hypocritical face. He had lost his wolf, but there was another for/ce inside him, urging him to strangle Talia, as if he was cursed to kill her.

But of course, he wouldn’t do that. No matter whether there was a curse or not, he would never hurt his mate. Talia might have been acting like a bitch now, but Vincent knew they once loved each other. That was the only explanation why he had a kid with her. He just wasn’t the type of person who slept around for fun.

He was convinced if he somehow got his memories back, he and Talia would be happy again. And to be honest, it was kind of his fault why Talia had been so bitchy recently.

He couldn’t get hard anymore.

Ever since he woke up, he hadn’t even gotten an erection. No matter how hard Talia tried, he just couldn’t stand up. It wouldn’t even work when he master/bated himself. Talia somehow wanted another kid with him desperately. It completely drove Talia crazy. That was why they had been fighting so much recently. And that was why he had been hurting himself.

He was impotent now.

How many impotent werewolves have you ever heard of?

The answer was ZERO.

Vincent couldn’t help but clench his fists again. Some of the healed wounds on the back of his hand burst out. The blood almost splashed on Samuel’s face.

The young man yelled, “Hey! Take it easy!”

He quickly cleaned the blood, applied medicine to Vincent’s hand, and then dressed it.

After everything was done, Samuel put everything back into the kit and asked Vincent again, “If you don’t want to reject her, could you at least tell me what you have been fighting for? Let me help! Mrs. Mead told me you are scaring Charlie.”

Charlie.

The muscles of Vincent’s face twitched again when he heard that name. He somehow disliked that weird kid just as he disliked Talia. But he knew it was indeed his kid and he should at least try not to worsen his condition.

“We won’t fight anymore,” he said after a while, in a deep, dry voice, biting his teeth, “I will find the solution.”

Samuel sighed, but nodded his head.

Ever since Vincent woke up, he had been slowly transformed into a cold-blooded, cranky person who wouldn’t even bother to speak by that crazy woman.

Samuel really hoped his big brother could find the solution, but he doubted there would be any.

He stood up from the chair, and put the kit back into the cabinet, and turned, preparing to leave the office.

When he reached the door, he hesitated and then turned back.

“If you don’t mind,” he asked with uncertainty in both his voice and his eyes, “Could you please come to the charity dinner at our college tonight? We are helping raise money for children with autism.”

Vincent frowned. After he woke up, he started to hate being around crowds, especially chattering strangers.

“You know I am busy,” he replied coldly, “If you want, I can write you a check now.”

That was an expected answer, and a bit of insulting. Still, Samuel tried his best.

“I don’t need your money,” he said, “Just try to attend, alright? It’s really important for me.”

Vincent nodded his head frigidly. Samuel then went out of the door and left.

Once the door was closed again, Vincent stood up from his chair and grabbed the edge of his office desk. Starting from yesterday, the unknown fury and grudge in his heart grew stronger than ever. He wanted to turn over the office table and trash his office. He even wanted to completely lose his mind and become an insane person.

But he knew he couldn’t lose his mind or become insane. He was the Alpha Wolf. He had a pack to take care of, and a son and a wife.

He couldn’t let whatever it was beat him. He just needed some more time to find the solution to fix his relationship with Talia.

He took a deep breath to calm himself down, and then turned around, and walked to the transparent window wall.

Below his feet, in front of the Group building, was a broad square paved with textured tiles, with a three-layered stone fountain in the middle of it.

It was about 10 a.m. Most people were already in their offices. There weren’t many people in the square.

Vincent saw a blond-haired woman standing in front of the fountain, looking up at the Group building with her head lifted up.

Though without his wolf, Vincent still had an excellent vision. The distance between him and that woman was extremely far. Still, Vincent saw what she looked like.

She was like the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, with a pair of green eyes as deep as some kind of fantasy green ocean. She was thinking about something upsetting while looking at the building. There were pains in her eyes. But the expression on her face was extremely gentle, and endearing, almost sacred.

At that moment, Vincent felt like his heart was being shot.

From that distance, there was no way she could see him, but somehow, he felt that it was fate that brought her here.

He instantly turned and ran out of his office. The elevator was stuck on the third floor. It wouldn’t come up. Vincent ran downstairs all the way and rushed into the square.

On his way, his work staff, the passersby on the square all cast him weird looks, as now he looked like a completely crazy person. His hair was disheveled; his suit was crumpled; his tie was loosened, and he was panting severely and sweating.

He stopped in front of the fountain, and turned, looking around, and around, and around. But she wasn’t there anymore.

She had already left when he was running down the stairs and the air where she had just stopped was so smooth and soothing.

Hadn’t he lost his wolf, he would have smelt the heavenly scent of his mate, but he had. Still, he felt so happy and peaceful just being where she had just been.

At that moment, there was no hate and grudge in Vincent’s heart anymore. He returned to that sunny, warm-hearted person.

He huffed out several relieved laughter, panting, stepped back, and sat down on the edge of the foundation.

He didn’t know what had just happened or who that woman was, but she was like a puff of fresh autumn wind that blew the dark cloud above his head away.

He raised his head, and looked at the sun straightforwardly, panting, laughing, like an actual crazy person, but felt happy.

After a while, when he finally calmed himself down, he felt there was something odd about his pants. He lowered his head to check and surprisingly found that he had just gotten an erection…

Vincent had no idea why he did that. It was the first day he came back to work. He didn’t want anyone to know, so he took a taxi and showed up at noon. Meeting Lena was purely accidental. He had never expected to see this mysterious green-eyed woman again. During the past few days, he didn’t even allow himself to think about her. He was now this crappy sl/ash crazy man who had just scared his own “wife” away from home and had just insanely “adopted” an illegal daughter. Lucky for him, Charlie started to communicate with him recently under Angela’s influence. It just felt wrong to think about another woman at such a moment. What sort of man does that anyway? Not only wolves, even humans aren’t allowed to chase their partners away by threatening to kill them, and then start being happy with another woman. No matter what, Talia was still his mate. It made Vincent feel guilty even thinking of the fountain he saw Lena for the first time. Not to mention the insane pleasure and

Lena used all her strength to pretend casual and listened quietly. Sophia then shrugged her shoulders, and said, “Not that my boss is any better than his wife. He is … unique too. Last winter, I overheard his brother urge him to send the boy, Charlie, I think, to some doctor in LA. Apparently, the boy had some problems. I heard Samuel say he hadn’t spoken one word since he was born…”Lena felt someone had just ripped open her throat. She couldn’t feel her breath anymore, and her head went dizzy, even Sophia’s voice became distant. She felt she was about to faint or explode, but she didn’t. Because she knew she had to stick here to listen to what they had done to her poor child.Sophia didn’t notice that. She was too excited about the gossip she was about to share. Lena started to pinch her thighs under the table to keep herself from storming out or screaming, cursing those two flagitious bastards who stole her child. And she heard Sophia saying:“But guess what? My boss refused,” the

Lena’s sleep had gotten better recently. The day Angela came back from the park, she brought a toy teddy bear with her, and then handed it to Lena. “It’s a gift from Lucas, Mommy. Lia hasn’t grown strong enough. The bear will protect you in the replacement of her,” the little girl said with seriousness in her beautiful green eyes. Lena took the bear and said “Thanks” to her little angel. Lia was the name of Angela’s toy wolf. Lena always felt a bit odd that Angela named the wolf a girl’s name. At night, Lena placed the bear on the nightstand before she went to sleep. Normally, she wouldn’t take gifts from strangers into her bedroom, but that bear gave her a different feeling. Maybe because it came from a boy who had the same name as her son. Whenever Lena saw that bear, she felt it was incredibly endearing. That night Lena magically didn’t have any nightmares and had a really good rest. She got up early the next day to send Angela to her new kindergarten, and then went t

  • The Alpha's Pigeon Pair   Chapter 15 Meeting at the Park

Outside the park near Lena’s apartment, Vincent had just stopped the car in the parking lot. It wasn’t a pleasant drive considering there was a weird boy who refused to speak, sitting in the backseat. Surely, it saved Vincent’s trouble of trying awkward conversations. Still, Vincent felt uncomfortable being under the same roof with his son, who was practically a stranger to him. He held his breath the whole time, and finally felt relieved a little when the park popped into his anxious eyes. After parking the car, he got off first and then walked around to the backseat to open the door for Charlie. The boy had been sitting there quietly all the time, holding that small teddy bear in between his hands. After Vincent pulled open the door, he raised his head and stared at his father’s face. It somehow made Vincent feel restless again. He cleared his throat with a cough and then said, “Get out.” His voice was harsh, even rude due to his nervousness. The boy didn’t get scared.

Lena felt really guilty for scaring her little daughter. On the same night of that afternoon where she repeated that nightmare about Talia and Vincent, right after she tucked Angela in as always, the little girl suddenly said “Wait, Mommy!” and then passed Lena her favorite toy wolf. “It will protect you in bad dreams,” the little girl said with innocent assurance sparkling in her beautiful green eyes. Lena smiled, but actually felt like crying. She took the toy wolf and said “Thank you, sweetheart”, and then kissed the little girl’s forehead, whispered “Good night” before she went out of the bedroom and closed the door. Outside, the living room was kind of dark, and lonely under the dim orange light from the floor lamp beside the sofa. Lena turned off the lamp first, and then went back to her own bedroom with that toy wolf in her hand. She kissed the toy wolf and put it beside her pillow before she went to sleep. It kind of worked. Lena had some real rest that night. Sh

  • The Alpha's Pigeon Pair   Chapter 13 Preparation-1

It was a good day. The weather was sunny, and the wind was soft, very suitable for an outing. When Vincent reached the house, the first thing he saw was Charlie standing on the lawn in front of the house, playing catch ball with Kelly. The boy saw him at the same time. He instantly froze and dropped the ball while the car was still approaching. Kelly noticed it. She turned her head and then saw Vincent too. She then quickly walked to Charlie and held the little boy’s hand. She knew the boy was kind of afraid of his father.Vincent noticed Charlie’s motion from inside the car. A burning torrent of guilt flashed across his heart, but was soon replaced by the nervousness of speaking to the boy.He stopped the car on the road beside the lawn, and then got off with the teddy bear.Kelly gave him a big grin when she saw the young master of this strange family for the second time.“Hello, Mr. Lanton,” she said with her distinguishing, cheerful, light voice, “Today is a very nice day!”Vincen
