Seven : Calix

~~ Calix's POV~~

Waking up in the morning is the hardest part of my daily routine. Dragging myself inside the bathroom, a warm shower can help the body to relax and to prepare for another long tiring day.

  After 15 minutes of nice warm shower, I am now on myself, the Alpha of Black Stone Moon pack. I went out of my room, wearing a navy blue pants and blue tight shirt. Composing my posture, I keep my face blank, intimidating. A real Alpha posture.

I walk inside my office to meet Xander, my beta waiting for me.

"Are you sure you want to marry her? What if you met your mate after you get married?" He asked. I glared at him.

"I don't care. I want to marry Athena because I love her, She's my everything." I spat, giving him a stern look. He bowed his head.

  "I'm sorry, Alpha." He submissively said.

"What brings you here?" I ask

"The Alpha of Midnight Howler pack is coming here, Dalton invited them to come over earlier for your party."

I know by means that Midnight Howler pack is one of the strongest pack in this country, same as our pack. We have the same standing in werewolf community. Plus the fact that we are ally. It's a big mistake if ever who tried to attack any of us, they surely graving for their own burial. But why the sudden invitation? I raised my brow to him.

"When will they arrive?"

"Today, before dinner as your father informed the pack guards of their arrival." I nod at him.

He took a seat across my desk. "I heard that they just claimed the Crescent Moon pack yesterday, I never heard of their plan on attacking that pack." He said tapping my desk.

  "They didn't attack the pack, as I've heard from Sam, they went in Crescent Moon pack with the permission of the alpha and while the two alpha's had a talk, Gregory (Alpha of Crescent Moon pack) freaked out and started attacking the other alpha. In his furiousness, he fall from the other alpha's trap. I must say, that the Alpha of Midnight Howler pack has a mind and own technique." My father said sounding proud of the Alpha of the allied pack. I snickered.

  "He's just lucky that Crescent Moon pack is in doomed now. He just take advantage of the mess alpha Gregory." I retorted. My father smile never leave his face that makes me annoyed. I stand up on my chair and marched outside the pack house. I went to the training ground and monitored the training activities of my fighters.

Time flew fast and I didn't notice when it's almost dark, I walked back inside the pack house, to the kitchen to be greeted by my girl, Athena. Her back facing me. I hug her from behind and peck a kiss in her nape making her giggle.

She stop on whatever she's doing and turn around, facing me. Kissing her lips and she never think twice, she respond to my kiss, she wrap her arms in my neck, deepening our kiss. I snake my hands around her waist, downwards. Lifting her,she yelp. Placing her on the kitchen counter and kiss her lips again. Her fingers tangled in my hair, caressing her legs. I left her lips to kiss her jaw down to her neck.

  I stopped mid-air when I caught a tantalizing scent, a sweet scent of mixture of apple and strawberry. Sniffing the air again, Athena's arousal fills my nostrils. Once again, claiming her neck, kissing her passionately. We stopped when someone interupted. I was about to growl when I saw my dad on the doorway, with a gorgeous woman I had ever seen.

"Calix, you can do that inside your room." My dad smirked, grinning.

I snapped my head to him and turn to see Athena and I intimate position. She jump on the counter and fixed herself.

"Calix, I want you to meet Cailly, I know you still remember her?" My dad asked, her name sounds familiar. And there, a face of a sweet little girl, her angelic face, her sweet smile. Cailly.

I stalk in her direction. "Cailly? Ai? Is that you?" I asked excitedly. She nod her head. 'Yes' I was about to pull her in a hug but she refuses. I felt a slight pain by her refusal.

"Your mate might get jealous." She stated. Her voice, her sweet voice. I can stand here all day just listening in her voice.

  I heard Athena in our link. I pull her near.

  "I never had the chance to meet my mate, but when I meet her, I feel complete, This is Athena, my future wife and luna." I introduced her, looking at her lovingly then I look at Cailly. I saw emotions in her eyes, Pain. But she hide it easily and smile as she reached to shake Athena's waitinh hand. And she excused herself. I want to stop her but Athena said she wants to take a rest too.

The night for me is so rough. I tossed and turn to my bed but Cailly's beautiful face invading my dreams. There's something about her, I want to know.

Earlier in the morning, Sleep never bother to visit me. So I stood up in my bed and let my feet take me anywhere. In my surprise, I stopped in Cailly's room. It's the same room she used when she had her vacation here, ten years ago. Where I had the chance to befriend with her.

I knock on her door. I heard her footstep walk around and she open her door. We had a short talk and I can't control myself, I simply pinch her temple when a sudden shock of electricity ran in my veins from my fingers. She step backwards, wide eyes and I was left not moving any muscles. I was about to come closer to her when her best friend came.

And I didn't notice that they were already gone.

Composing myself, lot of questions swirling inside my head.

I walk back to my room and fix myself in way more decent. Then making my way to the kitchen area. There I saw Cailly with Charisha in her arms. There I saw her smile, a true smile. It's so perfect. It looks like her smile are heavenly made just for smile. Seems like everyone in the kitchen saw it and they all smiled on their own.

"Hello Luna!" Charisha called for Cailly. She was shock and so I am. But I interject when I saw Athena saddened face.

"She's not our luna, but she's an alpha in her pack" Taking a seat beside Athena. "Athena is your future luna, Rishy." I said using her nickname I had given her.

"But she is my luna!" She announced, leaving no more for argument. I felt Athena sad.

"She's just a kid, she'll understand when she grew up." Cailly said trying to lighten the mood. I saw Athena smile.

We continue taking our breakfast when Charisha asked Cailly to play and she agreed. Charisha dragged her out, Rose come with them. My parents just laugh at their daughter's doing.

"Cailly is such a sweet girl, just like the old time." Mom said smiling.

"Yeah. Did you know that Sam said she's doing great as an Alpha of their pack? She's just taking in charge since the day she arrive three days ago?" He said, amused in his tone and he continue "At the party given for her, a group of rogues trespass their territory, but instead of killing them or sending them out, Cailly let them explain, she let them stay and fed them. Then the next day she went to the Crescent Moon pack, she wants to talk in civil way but the jerk of an alpha Gregory is he attacked her. But in most amazing part is she beat him easily. Would you imagine the difference of the two?" He chuckle.

I was shock upon hearing his story. I know that she was now the alpha of her pack but I didn't know the whole story. "But now you do." Elly, my wolf said.

"Wow! You're talking to me after a long time. What an honor?" I sarcastically said to him. He didn't say anything again.

My wolf refuse to talk to me since the day I decide to marry Athena. I can't blame him, Athena is not his mate, but I love him.

I excused myself to them, leaving a kiss on Athena's forehead and make my way to Charisha's room.

"But he's your mate!" I recognize the voice from Xander's mate and Cailly's best friend, Rose.

I stayed for awhile.

"I know" Finally, it's Cailly's voice, but her voice is something I can't tell. Is she's sad? I'll find out why. I open the door, looks like they didn't notice me yet because they stay silent.

"Who's your mate?" I ask. They both look at me, in shock. I cocked my brow.

"No one, Alpha Calix" Rose said.

"Since when did you came? You almost gave me a heart attack!" Cailly said, I can say she really caught of guard by how fast her heartbeat is. Making me chuckle.

"Not so long. I just heard. 'His your mate' and 'I know' then nothing." I said putting air quote from their word.

"I met my mate on the way here yesterday, but unfortunately, his married." She said in a low voice, sad. I want to hold her, comfort her but I can't.

"He didn't wait for you? It's his lost for not waiting for you. Is he an alpha too?"

She shook her head.

"That's what I had said! It's the bastard lost for not waiting for her. Cailly here is a good catch!" Rose blurted out.

"He's just a normal wolf, if his happy then i am happy for him. I don't mind." Cailly stated, she stood up and make her way on the door, exit. I hated it when I saw her sad. I'll beat the jerked mate of her. I promised to myself.

"He don't deserve you then. You will meet someone who deserve you more than you mate." I regretted the idea of someone will have her, will love her.

She left without a word, her head low, hiding her face. I, all do is watch her walking away.

"She cares for her mate, even if it's killing her. A torture she doesn't deserve, right?" Rose said while walking away. "A sweet girl like her deserve to be treated like a princess, a queen. Not a torture. She's like a glass, easily to break but no one is there to catch her. Her mate should realize that. He lost the diamond while keeping a stone" She finished then disappear in my sight.

Her words stay in my head, repeating itself.

I didn't know what to say.

I'm going to look for her mate. I finally said.

"Idiot." My wolf spat then block himself again. I groaned in annoyance for his actions.
