He speaks my name.

My heart stops, then stumbles back to life with a painful thud.

Sebastian—

My Sebastian—

is standing in the pit like something newly forged, steam rising from his skin, the earth around him glassed smooth by the raw force of whatever just happened inside him.

But it’s the way he looks at me—

Both eyes glowing, one black, one silver—
