Lorien

The words hung heavy in the air.

"Is that all you’ve got?"

I stared up at Alpha Matthias, my chest heaving, ribs throbbing beneath the bruises. His towering figure blocked out the sun behind him, casting me in shadow. Everything about him was calm, collected, but there was something piercing in the way his eyes bore into mine. Not cruel, just… unrelenting. Like he saw straight through every crack in me.

I remembered Cassius’s words from days ago.

"An omega like him is beneath me."

I clenched my fists against the cold, damp ground.

No. I wasn’t beneath anyone. I wouldn’t be.

With effort, I pushed myself up, biting back a whimper as pain lanced through my side. “I… I wasn’t at my best today,” I said quietly. “I’ve been sick. I didn’t want to miss training, so I—”

“Enough.”

His voice wasn’t loud. It didn’t need to be. It shut me up faster than a slap to the face.

“There is no room for excuses in my pack, Lorien,” he said, stepping down from the platform. “You want to be strong?

  • The Alpha's Rejected Omega   The Glow in Their Eyes

Lorien I couldn’t believe a week had passed already. The Enchanted Pack had this way of making time slip through your fingers like river water. One minute I was arriving, guarded and unsure, and the next I was laughing without guilt, breathing without fear. It was as if my soul had finally exhaled after holding its breath for years. The sun bathed the porch in warm gold. I leaned back against the wooden railing, sipping on a drink Antoinette had handed me earlier. Something citrusy and sweet. Somewhere inside, Cassius was likely telling one of his dramatic stories to the kids, complete with ridiculous hand gestures and over-exaggerated sound effects. Then, as if summoned by thought, Lucian came walking out barefoot and calm like he always did, his small frame casting a long shadow against the porch floor. He didn’t say a word before climbing up onto Cassius’s thigh and resting there like it was the most natural thing in the world. And maybe now… it was.Cassius didn’t flinch. He just

LorienI rolled my eyes so hard I thought they might stay that way when Cassius said, “He’s just like you. Always wants things to go his way.”“He is not—” I started, but my words caught in my throat as I glanced toward the kids. My heart lurched. Caius and the boy from earlier weren’t just talking anymore—they were fighting. Fists. Kicks. Shouts.“Caius!” I gasped, already sprinting across the park like the ground might swallow them whole if I didn’t get there in time. Cassius was right behind me, but I reached them first, grabbing Caius by the waist and pulling him back just as the other boy landed a punch to his cheek.“Enough!” Cassius barked, stepping between them with that Alpha tone that made even grown wolves flinch. The boy stumbled backward, wide-eyed.“Did you just hit my son?”The child’s mouth opened and closed like a fish, but he didn’t speak. Before it could escalate, Cassius sighed and turned to Caius, crouching to meet his eyes. “And you. You don’t hit people either.

  • The Alpha's Rejected Omega   A Fragile Thread

Lorien I didn’t realise what I had done until I saw the way Caius slumped his little shoulders and quietly padded off toward his room. He didn’t cry. He didn’t whimper. He just walked away. And that silence—gods, that silence shredded me.“Lorien, what the hell was that?” Cassius’s voice cut into me like a blade. “He’s three years old! Do you realise what you just did?”I blinked, staring at the empty space Caius had just stood in. The heat of my own anger was still pulsing beneath my skin, but now it was turning into something colder—guilt, thick and suffocating. My hands trembled, and I couldn’t even lift my head to meet Cassius’s glare.“I…” I began, but the words caught in my throat. “I didn’t mean to. I didn’t—I wasn’t trying to hurt him.”Cassius scoffed bitterly, pacing in front of me. “Then what were you trying to do, Lorien? Scare him into silence? Shame him for being who he is?”I bowed my head as shame flooded me, washing away whatever scraps of justification I might have

  • The Alpha's Rejected Omega   Cracks Beneath the Surface

CassiusI shut the door behind us with a quiet thud, the soft click of the latch sounding much louder in the silence that followed. Antoinette didn’t say a word, just watched me as I led the way down the familiar corridor toward the study. It was strange walking these halls again—places I’d once run through as a kid, playing games and hiding behind pillars. Now, everything felt stiff, formal. Cold.I opened the door to the study and walked in first. The scent of aged paper, leather, and old whiskey hit me immediately. It hadn’t changed in years. Antoinette followed quietly, his presence heavy behind me.I made my way to the leather armchair in the corner, one I used to pretend was a throne when I was younger. Sitting down, I folded my arms across my chest and looked up at my cousin—no, the Alpha. I didn’t care about titles, though. Not here. Not with him.Antoinette shook his head with a faint smirk and took the other chair, sinking into it like he owned the room. I guess he did now.

LorienI couldn’t hold it in any longer.“What is going on?” I asked, staring between the two of them like they had grown matching sets of horns.Cassius and Antoinette—yes, Antoinette—burst into laughter, throwing their heads back like I had just told the best joke in the world. The two of them looked like they hadn’t seen each other in years, and the tension that had been practically boiling earlier was now gone like mist in sunlight.Antoinette grinned at me, his eyes shining with amusement. “You really fell for it, didn’t you?”Cassius smirked beside me, smug as always. “Don’t feel bad, love. I didn’t warn you on purpose.”I blinked. “You two were playing a prank on me?”Antoinette nodded, clearly proud. “I just wanted this arrogant cousin of mine to beg a little. Maybe see some humility for once.”Cassius scoffed. “Please. I didn’t beg.”“You did,” Antoinette said with a snicker. “You just did it with your chest puffed out.”I folded my arms and shook my head. “You people are ins

  • The Alpha's Rejected Omega   Echoes of Bloodlines

LorienI rolled my eyes as Cassius squared his shoulders and looked like he was about to throw a punch at the Beta. For someone supposedly trying to earn the goodwill of a pack, he sure had a knack for pissing people off. His fists clenched at his sides, his body tense like a coiled spring ready to snap. The guards around the gate mirrored his aggression, and I could already sense the tension humming between the two sides like a taut wire waiting to be severed.“Of course,” I muttered under my breath. “This is exactly what we need right now.”The Beta, tall and built like a stone wall, narrowed his eyes. “Turn around and leave. You’ve got no business here.”Cassius took a threatening step forward. “I came to see the Alpha. Not his dogs.”And that was it. I’d had enough.I stepped between them, putting a hand firmly on Cassius’s chest. “Would you stop trying to fight everyone?” I snapped, glaring up at him.He didn’t budge.“We’re not here to fight a war,” I said, louder this time so t
