Mag-log inSara stumbled backwards, reeling from the shock of his words.
"You don't mean that," she whispered softly. She could hear the laughter of the people around, clearly mocking her, but she paid them no attention. She could feel her wolf howling painfully in her chest.
"I mean it," he spat. "The Moon Goddess has made a mistake. I will be getting mated to someone worthy of being my Luna."
The tears dropped slowly from her eyes and down her cheeks. After he had saved her last night—after he had acted like he cared about her life—he just had to do this.
The door to the hall opened and a lady stepped in. She looked absolutely stunning in the crystal blue dress she wore, pearls decorating her neck. Her hair was in an elaborate bun, her makeup accentuating her perfect features. Behind her was a man: the Alpha of the Moonbeam Pack.
"Elaine," Killian said softly, his eyes lighting up. He walked to her and kissed her cheek softly while looking at Sara.
Sara stared at them for a long moment. She was nothing like her. She felt like trash beside her.
"Now this is the type of woman worthy enough to be my Luna," he spat at her.
Elaine gave him a soft smile and then looked at Sara with disdain.
Sara ran out of the hall, down the corridors and to her room, slamming the door angrily behind her. Her heart was shattering into a million pieces at his cruelty. Why had she ever trusted him? Why was she so fucking stupid?
One glance at the bed sent her into an even bigger fit of rage. They had made love just last night on it. She gave herself—her virginity—to him at her weakest and it had never meant anything, despite the fact that they were fated mates.

Four weeks later.
"And my laundry hasn't been done yet," Elaine said, shoving a basket towards her. "Seriously, are you even good for anything?"
Sara's eyes drifted towards where Killian lay on the bed, his phone in his hand. He glanced at her briefly and looked away. She bit back a bitter laugh and dragged the basket away, feeling deeply humiliated.
She had tried to leave that night, and several nights after that, but for some reason, the guards seemed to be monitoring her every move. Even at the edge of the cliff—the sides where they usually didn't have guards—they were suddenly stationed there. She knew it was Killian's way of keeping her humiliated.
Fucking bastard. He had broken her.
Since that day, her wolf had been silent. She hadn't shifted at night like others do on their eighteenth birthday, which caused more mockery. And Greta had also stopped speaking to her.
After she was done with the laundry, she went back to her room. It was a mess, just like everything else had been. She decided to clear it up; she had been cleaning after everyone except for herself. It was only right she used this free time to do it.
She began to fold the clean clothes she had and keep them in the wardrobe, emptying out drawers to clean them up. A box of sanitary pads slid out of one and then she froze immediately. She hadn't used them since... and her period was supposed to be when? Two weeks ago?
"Shit!" she cursed, her eyes widening.
Killian and she had unprotected sex and she didn't think to use the morning-after pill. Goddess, she was really stupid as hell. She stood there, her hands shaking, unsure of what to do. She needed to take a pregnancy test and she could only hope it was negative.
But how was she going to do that when she had no money? Should she just swallow her pride and ask Killian?
The door swung open just then. Speak of the devil.
Killian stood there, leaning against the doorframe. "Elaine needs your attention."
"Since when did you become her errand guy?" she asked coldly.
"There's something called helping out when you're in a relationship, but you wouldn't know that, would you?"
"Right," she spat.
Say it, Greta whispered. Sara froze. Greta?
Tell him now.
"Killian… my period is late."
"How the fuck does that have to do with me?" he asked, then for a second, a flicker of realization crossed his face as he looked at her bed. "What the fuck are you saying?"
"I… I don't know. I haven't taken a test… I'm—"
"I'll get you strip tests from the pack clinic. Wait here," he said, dashing out.
She stood there, wringing her hands together. "You decided to come back now, huh?" Greta was silent. "Greta?" Still more silence. "Fucking perfect," she cursed.
Killian returned right then, throwing three boxes of pregnancy tests. "Go on. All of them, to be sure."
"Right," she muttered, grabbing them and walking towards the bathroom.
She had just finished using them when he walked into the bathroom.
"Killian!" she gasped, adjusting her underwear. "You can't just—"
"Not like I haven't seen everything before," he said coldly.
Her face burned. She stared at the three tests waiting on the sink, her heart pounding against her chest as the first one showed positive. The second… same. The third… same.
"Goddess," she gasped, her face contorting in horror. She looked up at Killian, who stared at the test results with an unreadable expression. "Killian? Say something."
He sucked in a sharp breath. There was a flicker of an emotion she couldn't understand, replaced quickly by his cold look. "Abort it. Quietly."
"What?"
Killian pulled out his wallet and threw a wad of cash at her. "Don't do it in the pack's clinic."
"Killian—"
"Do I look like I'm fucking joking?" he roared, slamming his hands on the wall above her. "Are you trying to ruin me?"
She shrunk in fear, staring at him with glassy eyes. Killian Blackwood was a fucking monster. And she, Sara, was going to make him pay.
KILLIAN’S POVThe drive back to Crescent Moon Pack should have cleared my head. It didn’t.My grip tightened around the steering wheel as her face refused to leave my mind. Candice Miller. Even her name felt wrong—like something that didn’t quite belong.I exhaled slowly. “Candice Miller…” I muttered, testing the name again. It still felt wrong. And yet, she didn’t feel like a stranger. My brows furrowed as my wolf stirred faintly inside me. That alone was enough to irritate me. For years, it had been nothing but a shadow—silent, distant and barely present unless absolutely necessary. But now? After meeting one woman, he suddenly wanted to wake up? My jaw clenched.I already knew I couldn’t shift. I hadn’t been able to for years. The moment I rejected Sara, something inside me broke and the backlash had never left. My wolf never fully recovered. So whatever this was, it made no sense. “I’ve never seen her before,” I muttered. “So why does she feel so familiar?”I didn't have an answer
SARA’S POVSara felt like the air had left the room as he walked in. For a second she could not breathe. Killian Blackwood stood in front of her like some ghost from her worst nightmare. He looked older now, broader, taller and more dangerous. His jaw was sharper than she remembered and his shoulders looked wider beneath his black shirt. His dark hair was shorter now, neatly trimmed, and his blue eyes were colder than before. He looked every bit like an Alpha. Like the powerful man he had grown into. But no matter how handsome he looked, Sara only saw the devil. The man who had broken her, the man who had thrown money in her face and the man who had told her to kill her babies. Her fingers curled into fists."Well?" Killian asked again, his deep voice pulling her from her thoughts. "What exactly does Ms. Miller have against the Crescent Moon Pack?"Sara stared at him. Her heart was pounding so loudly she thought he would hear it. But then something hit her. He did not know her. He di
Six years had gone by since everyone thought Sara had died at that clinic. She stood in her bathroom looking at the woman in the mirror. The woman in the mirror was not the weak Omega who used to clean floors until her fingers were all bloody. She was not the girl who was so desperate for love that she would do stupid things just to get someone to notice her.She was Candace Miller. She had used the money that Killian had given her to go to the human city and spent two years working several jobs even through her pregnancy. Once she had saved enough, had fixed her face, changed her name and built a wall around her heart that no one could ever break. Now she was the owner of Miller Security. It was funny that she had built a company based on what her father used to do, but was not just a guard. She was the woman who made the security plans for the elite.People paid a lot of money just to talk to her on the phone."Mommy Leo took my tablet again!" A little girl screamed, which made Sara
"What took you so long?" Elaine purred from where she lay on his bed. He fought an eye roll and ran a hand through his hair instead."Nothing.""Where's that filthy bitch?" she asked, batting her lashes. "I really need a foot massage.""Don't call her that," he couldn't help but say quietly.Elaine reeled, taken aback by his words. Even he was surprised by them. The wolf inside him was getting anxious. It felt like his sharp claws were scratching at his insides and making him feel bad. Ever since he gave Sara that money, he had the taste of a coward in his mouth."What?" she scoffed. "You're, like, defending her?""I'll give you a massage instead," he said, moving to the edge of the bed to divert her attention. Apart from the fact that she had left to find a doctor to get rid of the baby, he knew he couldn't bear to face her if she came into the room. "Don't want her… filth touching you.""Of course," replied Elaine with a smile. He grabbed her foot, but his mind was miles away. He wa

"Shit," she cursed as she mistakenly glanced over at the clock. She forgot Killian for a second as she realized she was late for her chores. She looked around her, noticing he had folded her clothes neatly on the chair. She picked up another one of the faded hand-me-downs she owned and hurried out to the main hall. She stepped into the hallway just as the group was walking out of the dining hall. Rita, Darian, and Cole were laughing about something. And there, in the center of them, was Killian.Sara stopped, her breath catching in her throat. She waited for him to look at her. She waited for that spark of sympathy or the heat from last night to show in his storm-cloud eyes.Killian didn't even blink. He met her eyes once and looked away, continuing to talk to Darian with a casual smirk on his face, as if she were nothing more than a ghost haunting the corridor.Sara stood there frozen, the realization hitting her. The night meant nothing. She was still the Omega rat. And as far as Ki
