Chapter 02

Very early the next morning, I woke up feeling less pain from last night's incident, still unable to believe what had happened. I had no idea why Leo suddenly changed last night, and as he walked away, I could see a totally different man in him. The way he spoke to me last night made me feel like he had a deep hatred buried down there for me.

I sighed deeply, and decided to think positively. We had a child to raise together now, and that was enough reason and encouragement I needed to resolve any misunderstandings between us and find out what I had done wrong.

I rose to my feet and reached for my phone on the couch. Leo had blocked my line from calling him.

Thinking thoroughly, I suddenly realized I had not even the slightest idea where he could be or where he had gone through. I was worried he could be in the hands of another woman, and only that would shatter me completely.

Feeling so frustrated, I decided to call my best friend Zoey. She picked almost immediately after the first ring, and hearing her voice almost made me break down in tears.

"I need your help, Zoey."

Zoey was powerful. Her family were super rich and since she was the only child, she grew up having everything a child could ever ask for. We met in highschool, and we were both the smartest kids, although after graduation l, I couldn't further my education anymore because I had to carry on my Luna duties to Leo.

"Talk to me, Selene."

"Do you have any idea where Leo is?"

"No, is something wrong?"

I wanted to tell Zoey everything that was happening, but I suddenly changed my mind, and decided not to let her know. "No, nothing's wrong." I replied.

There was silence between us for a few seconds, before she spoke up. "I'll inquire from as many people as I can. Let's meet at our favorite restaurant in an hour."

She didn't give me a chance to respond, but ended the call immediately after she was done talking. I signed deeply because I had no choice than to go meet up with her. I was in no mood to freshen up.

I got to my car and drove out of the house. About 30 minutes later, I arrived at the restaurant Zoey had asked us to meet. To get my mental health straight, I had decided to come earlier than she had asked and ordered only water. I couldn't seem to take my mind off what happened last night.

I had thought the news of the baby would put smiles on Leo's face, but I was wrong. I cleaned the tears that had rolled down to my cheek and sniffled. "Pull yourself together, Selene. Leo's gonna come around soon."

Because the mate bond was broken, I felt different.

"Selene." I Heard Zoey's voice as she ran to me and took her seat. I would say Zoey is more like a detective.

"Look at you, oh goodness, you look so horrible sissy."

I had no idea my eyes were fat aslnd swollen, and that my lips so were so dry. "You fucking look pale, and frustrated, tell me Selene, what's wrong? I'm your best friend so start spilling things out."

I clamped my lips, and looked away from Zoey for a few seconds.

"I'm pregnant!" I started, but it seems Zoey bursted out in joy even before I could conclude my statement. I waited patiently for her to giggled as much as she could and when she saw that I had not a smile on my face, she stopped and held my hand.

"You're pregnant, so what's wrong? I know how much you've always wanted to hear this news. Leo is definitely overjoyed right?"

Tears brimmed my eyes again as I shook my head in negation, "No, no he isn't. I never expected I would loose my husband the exact day I received the best news of my life."

"What?? What are you talking about, Selene."

"He rejected me. Leo rejected me last night. There has to be a misunderstanding somewhere, I have to find out what's wrong with my husband"

Zoey gasped aloud, but I could tell she wasn't really shocked. She scoffed aloud, "Everyone knew Alpha Leo wasn't really a fan of women, I was worried you'd get hurt, Selene, I'm so sorry. That fucking bastard needs some senses shoved right in into his brain and….." She stared at me, and I could see rage in her eyes, as she paused

"But I believe he loved you, Selene. Have faith in your relationship, and it's gonna work out fine."

Just as I was about to say a word, Zoey received a call. "Excuse me."

She rose to her feet and picked her call, walking to a distance. A few minutes later, Zoey came back but without a smile on her face. "What's wrong? Did anything happen?" I questioned anxiously because I didn't like the look on her face.

"A friend of mine found Leo."

"It's great news right?"

She raised her phone, and showed me a photo of what had been sent to her, and in there, I saw Leo with a couple of his friends I was unaware about in a club house.

"Where's he?"

"It's an exclusive clubhouse."

Staring at the surrounding, I could tell it was fucking expensive. "How do we get in?"

She confidently smiled and revealed that her family partially owned the club, and that she was just like a boss there. "We can get in even without a penny."

I rose to my feet. I wasn't ready to waste another second because I was worried. What on earth could have been so severe to make my husband go to a club? Leo always cared so much about his reputation, and he would never put it at stake for anything,

We quickly headed for the club, and as Zoey and I entered the club, I could inhale the strong stench of alcohol and cigarettes. The atmosphere was so lively, but my eyes continued to carefully scan where Leo was.

My heart nearly sank when I saw the image of a man and a woman kissing, but I couldn't conclude if it was Leo or not because he was backing me. His hands were wrapped around his waist so lovingly, and I watched as the crowd cheered them on.

When the kiss was broken, he turned around and to my astonishment, the man being kissed was my husband. Immediately our eyes met, Leo let go of her hand, while she turned around to face me

As she turned around,. the first thing I noticed was the striking resemblance she had with me. I strained my weak eyes to stare at her even more, and I noticed she had the same beauty mark at the corner of her left eye, and a moon shaped tattoo on her left shoulder as well.

Who the hell was this mystery girl, and why on earth was she bearing my marks, and my face as well.
