AURORA

Damon walked into the room a few minutes later, his presence commanding as always. His eyes immediately found me.

“So, what’s wrong with my queen?” he asked, his voice calm but edged with concern.

“My king, may I speak with you outside?” The doctor looked at me briefly before responding.

Damon hesitated for a heartbeat, then gave a small nod and followed her out.

My chest tightened. Fear clawed at my insides. Please keep your promise, I prayed silently. Not now… not while everything is still on fire.

Moments later, Damon returned alone. His expression was unreadable, eyes fixed on me as he quietly approached the bed.

Without a word, he sat beside me and gently laid me down, his hand resting over my stomach.

I tensed under his touch, a shiver trailing my spine. It’s like he knows. He leaned down and kissed me softly, pulling back just enough to meet my eyes.

“The doctor told me what’s going on,” he said quietly.

My breath hitched. “W-what do you mean?” I asked, barely keeping m

DAMONI stormed out of the room, the doors slamming behind me as my boots pounded against the palace floors. My heart was still racing, my mind split between fury and fear. For hours, I had been at Aurora’s side, refusing to leave, gripping her hand as if my strength alone could anchor her to life.I hadn’t moved; not until the doctor finally looked up and said. “They’re both fine now, my king. She and your pup are out of danger.”But Aurora still hadn’t woken up. I wanted to argue, to demand more. But the pack doctor placed a firm hand on my arm.“It’s a miracle they’re both alive. Please… hold on to that hope, my king.” So I did. With one last look at her peaceful, pale face, I turned and left the room, my aura pulsing with raw power and barely contained rage.Outside, the palace ground was littered with bodies and dead wolves. The metallic scent of blood filled the air, thick and heavy. The fight had mostly died down, but the aftermath was gruesome. More enemy bodies than my warri

AURORAI watched in horror and awe as chaos erupted before me. Warriors charged at my pack people; clashing in a brutal display of war.Screams tore through the air, mingling with the guttural growls of wolves mid-shift. Bodies dropped to the ground; some still, others writhing. The scent of blood and smoke quickly filled the atmosphere.“Show them no mercy!” I heard Damon roared. His voice thick with fury and power. His warriors responded like thunder, moving with lethal precision. It was a slaughter.Suddenly, flames burst from the trees along the palace grounds; someone had set fire, and the inferno danced dangerously close to where I hid.Damon shifted, his bones cracking and reshaping as fur burst forth. His transformation was swift and powerful, and he stood in full form; a massive, gleaming white wolf.Regal and terrifying. Every inch of him screamed Alpha king. He was the most beautiful wolf I’ve ever seen.He let out a bone chilling growl that silenced the battlefield for a

AURORAIt had been three days since the night the angry mob gathered outside the palace. The silence that blanketed the pack was too loud; an eerie kind of quiet that stirred my nerves and twisted my stomach, making me feel sick.“Why are you not eating?” Damon asked as I sat at the dining table as I played with the food.“I’m not hungry,” I replied.“You look pale, you have to eat, Aurora.” Damon said.I know whenever I am anxious I lose appetite, I know those people that hurt me won’t let me have peace until I am dead.I fear for Damon, as if that is not enough Damon’s uncle hasn’t hidden his hatred for me also.My mind drifted back to the day I was outside in the garden, basking in the sun, the sweet scent coming from the flowers.“You must be the witch,” the voice came through.I turned and saw a man standing there. The hatred and scowl in his face didn’t go unnoticed. I stood confused, wondering who he was.“Pardon my manners, I’m Damon’s uncle Gideon, his only relative alive.”

AURORA“Kill the witch! Burn the witch!” The cries echoed like thunder through the night.I jerked up from sleep, my chest heaving. For a moment, I thought it was another nightmare. The same one that had haunted me for years. But this time; it was closer, louder, and real.My heart raced as the chilling sound of chaos filtered through the walls of the palace. I turned quickly toward Damon, who was still fast asleep beside me.Sliding out from under the covers, I tiptoed to the window. My breath caught in my throat.A crowd was gathered outside the palace gates, torches burning against the darkness. The flames lit up angry, familiar faces. Even after eight years, I still remember them.My worst fear was coming true. Before I could reach Damon to wake him, a loud, urgent knock sounded at the door, jolting him awake. His eyes opened instantly, sharp and alert.“Damon, someone’s at the door and… and there's a crowd outside.” I whispered, my voice trembling.“Come in,” Damon Commanded ca

AURORA“Ladies and gentlemen of Moonshadow pack, and all packs under my rule, I gather you all here for the happiest day of my life. I present to you… my mate, Luna, and queen… Aurora. The love of my life.” Damon declared, his voice ringing through the air.A thunderous wave of cheers and applause erupted from the crowd. Joy and celebration filled the air.But my eyes drifted to the corner of the crowd; to the faces I recognized from my birth pack; and my heart sank. Their faces were still. Cold, angry, disapproving. Their eyes were daggers.I followed Damon as he walked in. “Damon, you need to stop this… what have you done?”He didn’t look at me. He kept walking, his jaw tight. The palace was filled with joy, but I could feel the storm behind it; the weight of resentment, the threat of rebellion simmering in the shadows.“Moonshadow may be celebrating, but my pack… they hate me,” I said, my voice cracking.Damon stopped. Slowly, he turned to me, his eyes firm, unwavering. “There’s n
