AURORA

My cloak clung tightly to my frame, the deep hood casting shadows over my tear-streaked face. Each step I took away from Damon felt like a blade twisting in my chest.

Behind me, Oprah followed. “Are you sure about this, Aurora? The king will come after you.” Oprah’s voice came, breathless but soft.

“I know, but I won’t stay and watch the man I love kill the woman who took care of me like a mother.” I whispered, my voice breaking.

“You shouldn’t have made this decision. King Damon I know will go to the end of the earth to find you.” Oprah placed a gentle hand on my shoulder.

“I already did, Oprah. I know the laws. Damon would have sentenced you to death, for the death of our baby. Vengeance has clouded his mind.” I said, as I continued walking.

We need to get far away from the Moonshadow pack. Damon must have found out about my escape by now. And I know he will be on my trail by now.

I looked ahead, my mind replaying the deal, desperation to save Oprah made me deal with the de

AURORAI sat at the window of our chambers, Declan curled up asleep in my lap. The sun was dipping low, casting long golden shadows across the courtyard, but my heart felt anything but calm.Something was wrong. I had been restless since Damon left, pacing, glancing toward the gates as if sheer willpower could bring him home faster. As I stroked my son’s hair, a sudden, sharp ache gripped my chest. Oprah entered quietly with a tray of tea, but paused mid-step.“My child, are you well? You look pale.”“Something is wrong, something’s happened.” my gaze fixed on the horizon.Oprah set the tray down, frowning. “You don’t know that for sure…”“I do,” my voice was low, certain. I moved to the balcony after dropping Declan on the cushion. Scanning the distant forests. A cool wind swept in, carrying with it a faint scent of blood and steel. Not literally, but as if my bond with Damon was whispering it to me.“Damon,” I whispered, gripping the railings until my knuckles turned white. At that

DAMONThe next morning, the palace still lay under the veil dawn, mist curling low across the courtyard. The air was damp, heavy, like the earth itself was holding its breath.Aurora stood at the steps, wrapped in a deep blue robe, watching as I and the warriors prepared the horses. Armor clinked, saddles cracked, and the scent of steel lingered sharp in the air.I emerged from the stable in my black leather armor, every inch the Alpha king, but my eyes softened when they met hers.“You don’t have to do this yourself.” Aurora said, her voice steady but her hands trembling at her sides.“I do, if I send only warriors, Eden and his father will slip away again. This ends this time.” I replied, fastening the final strap on my bracers. She stepped down one stair, closing the distance. “Then at least take more men, add more men to go with you.”“I’ve chosen the best. I told you last night, my sunshine; I’ll come back to you.” I reassured, brushing a strand of hair from her face. My fingers

AURORAI watched from the veranda as Damon chased Declan across the courtyard. The boy’s laughter rang through the air, bright and unrestrained, wrapping around my heart like a warm embrace. For the first time in years, I felt whole. Just weeks ago, I had almost lost Damon to poison and death. Now, seeing him alive, strong, and smiling with our son; it was everything I had ever dreamed of.“Daddy! I can’t believe my daddy is a real king with a real palace; just like in the stories!” Declan said, running into Damon’s arms.Damon scooped him up with a grin. “Hmmm… come here, little warrior. One day, all of this will be yours.”Declan’s eyes widened. “Really? I get to be strong like you?”“Yes, Declan, stronger than me.” Damon said, kissing his forehead. My heart ached at the tenderness in Damon’s voice. I had feared he wouldn’t have the chance to know his son like this. Our moment was cut short when a guard approached, bowing deeply.“My king, someone has requested to see you.” the guar

AURORABack at the palace, the gates flung open as the guards rushed inside with Damon’s unconscious body in their arms. Blood soaked through his clothes, his face pale, jaw clenched even in unconsciousness.“Make way for the Alpha!” one of the warriors barked, and the palace was thrown into chaos.I ran beside them, clutching Damon’s hand, refusing to let go. It was warm, but not for long. My heart thundered in my chest, panic clawing at me as they burst into the chamber, where the pack doctors were already waiting.“Wolfsbane… laced with deathroot,” the head doctor muttered grimly after a quick inspection, his face hardening.“What does that mean?” I demanded.“It’s a poison to werewolves, it’s lethal. Luna, please, we need you to wait outside.” he replied bluntly.“No! I’m not going anywhere. I want to stay with him. He won’t dare leave me!” I snapped, clutching Damon’s hand tighter. My voice cracked, tears pouring freely down my cheeks as I knelt by his side.“Damon, do you hear

AURORAThere was silence; heavy silence. “What?” Damon breathed.“I’m not ready, Moonshadow hasn’t been home to me for two years. Not after everything that happened.“Aurora…” his voice faltered. He reached for my hand, but I didn’t take it.“You hurt me, Damon. You doubted me when I needed your trust the most. I have forgiven you, but I need time to rebuild myself. To be whole again; for me and for Declan.” I said.“Aurora, you and Declan are not safe here. Eden sent me a letter lately, he knows you left. It’s only a matter of time before he finds out about Declan.” he said, his jaw clenched, pain etched into every line of his face.I gasped, my eyes widening in alarm. “Declan is not safe.” Offcourse Eden, how could I have forgotten about him? Damon’s words echoed like a thunderclap in my chest. My breathing quickened, panic began to rise. I turned to look at Damon, his expression grim, his eyes shadowed with truth I couldn’t deny.“It’s only a matter of time. Eden will come for yo

AURORA TWO YEARS LATER“Mummy! Mummy!! Come and see, it’s a butterfly!” my son, Declan’s joyful voice echoed across the sunlit field as he chased after the fluttering wings. His laughter rang like music in the air.I smiled faintly, my heart skipping at the sound of my son’s voice. “Declan, be careful!” I called out, shielding my eyes from the sun as I watched him dart through the wildflowers.“He’s such a smart young boy, just like his father.” Oprah said gently, walking up beside me.I froze. The words struck deep, anchoring my feet to the ground. He’s just like his father; Damon. It had been two years since I left Moonshadow pack. Two long aching years since I had seen him, touched him, breathed the scent of his skin.I had found out not long after I arrived at Trinity pack; I was pregnant with Damon’s child. It had rocked me to my core. I had cried alone in the dark, torn between returning to Damon and keeping my distance and the baby safe.I gave birth in secret.
