Is Elena truly his Mate? He wondered
For crying out loud he has a Mate already who his demon side has chosen. His wife.He has got to find out why he badly wants Elena to himself.
"Is it the love you have for my niece is the reason why you had saved us?" Jess asked the silent man.
"Maybe." Demon replied, he wasn't sure of the answer to give her. All he knows is that he wanted Elena safe and to find out why he has developed strong feelings for her. Telling the old lady 'Yes' would mean a lot of things. What if by the end of his search he finds out Elena wasn't really his soulmate or that what he feels for her isn't love but lust? He doesn't want to sound like a liar in the presence of the old woman hence his reply 'Maybe'.
