Liam's POV

Tulip was useless.

I had been standing in that cell for twenty minutes and every question I put to her came back with the same wet, shaking nothing. She didn't know where Ivy was. She didn't know who took her. She didn't know, she didn't know, she didn't know, and the longer she sat on that floor looking up at me with blood drying at her temp

  • The Alpha's forgotten Luna: His Loss, her throne   Chapter 175

Liam's POVTulip was useless.I had been standing in that cell for twenty minutes and every question I put to her came back with the same wet, shaking nothing. She didn't know where Ivy was. She didn't know who took her. She didn't know, she didn't know, she didn't know, and the longer she sat on that floor looking up at me with blood drying at her temple and tears cutting tracks through the dirt on her face, the more I understood that I had come down here expecting something she genuinely did not have.I stepped back. Breathed through my teeth. Put the knife away before I did something that would end a conversation I still needed."The Pink Dreams," I said. "Where did you get them?"She hesitate

  • The Alpha's forgotten Luna: His Loss, her throne   Chapter 174

Ivy's POVHe laughed when I said it.Full chest, head tilting back, like I had walked in and done something that genuinely pleased him. I stood there with my wrists bound and my feet sore from five hours in the back of a car and I watched this man laugh at me and felt every nerve in my body pull tight."I have been hearing things," Darian said, settling back into his chair with the ease of someone who had never once been uncomfortable anywhere. "Liam's Luna. The girl who came from nothing and suddenly everyone is rearranging their lives around her." He looked me over once, slow, unhurried. "The rumors forgot to mention this part.""What part.""The part where you walk into a room with your hands tied behind your back and still manage to look like you own it." He stood up. "I respect it. Truly."I didn't want his respect. I wanted my hands free and a phone and about forty seconds alone. He crossed toward me and I tracked every step, my eyes on his hands, watching for what he was going t

IVYNeither of them moved. They just looked at us with the patient, unhurried expressions of people who had known exactly where we would come out and exactly when.Maxine reacted before I could stop her. She moved forward with the particular energy of a woman who had just woken up from a drugged sleep, survived a fire, and had absolutely nothing left in her that was interested in being reasonable, and she swung her leg back to kick Yara directly in the face.Yara caught her ankle mid-swing like she had seen it coming from the moment Maxine started moving, which she probably had, and the slap she delivered in response snapped Maxine's head sideways hard enough to make me flinch. She grabbed Maxine by the hair before she could recover and pulled her back and Maxine hissed through her teeth and grabbed at the hand in her hair and got nowhere.Nana turned to me.She looked exactly the same as I remembered her, same stillness, same careful eyes, same quality of having decided something long

  • The Alpha's forgotten Luna: His Loss, her throne   Chapter 172

Ivy's POVI did not have time to think. I just ran.The smoke was thicker on the upper floor than it had been ten minutes ago, sitting low and rolling along the ceiling like it was looking for somewhere to settle, and I pulled the collar of my jacket up and moved fast down the corridor toward Maxine's wing, the one on the far end of the building that she had claimed on her first night in the mansion because, as she had put it, she needed to be far enough from Liam that she could pretend she lived alone.I hit her door and pushed it open without knocking.Maxine was completely flat on her back in the middle of her bed, one arm thrown over her face, her dark hair everywhere, wearing an oversized sleep shirt and looking like a woman in the deepest, most unbothered sleep of her entire life while the building around her quietly considered burning down. The Pink Dreams had her fully. Her chest rose and fell in that slow, medicated rhythm and she didn't so much as twitch when the door bange

  • The Alpha's forgotten Luna: His Loss, her throne   Chapter 171

Liam's POVThe fire was burning faster than I had expected and heaven knows that when this was over, I was going to make Tulip regret every single decision that had led to this night. Not just the Pink Dreams, not just what she had tried to do to me on that bed, all of it, every calculated, desperate, unhinged move she had made in this mansion since the day she arrived. But that was for later. Right now I had a building full of unconscious people and a fire that was spreading with the particular confidence of something that had been given a head start.Balaam was still burning off the last of the fog, the Pink Dreams thinning in patches as my body fought through it, and I moved on pure authority and muscle memory, barking orders at the outer perimeter guards who had not been inside when the candles burned, directing the evacuation, getting bodies off the floor and out through the east entrance while the kitchen wing above crackled and threw orange light down the corridor walls. That wa

  • The Alpha's forgotten Luna: His Loss, her throne   Chapter 171

Ivy's POVSena and I were halfway back to the mansion when she finally told me everything. We had been walking fast through the east garden path, the night air cold against my face, Bree's words still sitting heavy in my chest, and Sena had been quiet for too long, the kind of quiet that had something large living inside it, and I looked at her and said, "Talk to me now."She exhaled. "I overheard it when I went to throw the refuse. Near the back courtyard. Tulip and Erden were discussing quietly." She kept her eyes forward as she spoke. "I wasn't supposed to hear it. I don't think they checked if anyone was nearby. I heard the word Pink Dreams and I didn't know what it was then but I knew from the way they said it and how they mentioned smoke that it was something terrible." She swallowed. "Erden told her to burn it inside the mansion through the ventilation. Told her everyone would go under a deep sleep…every guard, every maid, every one in the building would be sleep. All of them.

Liam's POVI had been in worse situations than bleeding out at a pack border with no guards and three broken ribs. Chapter FourIvy's Pov I should have walked away.
