Alpha Samuel Bowers.

It took my team time but I was finally able to get a name, Natalie Edmund, she just moved to the city and she was the new head medical examiner and that was all they were able to dig up along with her photo, Steven was right about her face it's like every average womans face, nothing standout about it, but there was something about her eyes, I couldn't put my finger on it.

There's a knock on my window and I turn around to see Billy with a sullen look on his face and he doesn't have Natalie with him. I wind down my window. “Where is she Billy?” I ask him.

“I'm sorry Alpha but she refused to come with me.” He says and that's a shock.

“Did she give you a reason?” I ask him.

“She said that she has a very important case to attend to and that  you should come back when she's free.” Billy tells me and I can hear his voice shake as he speaks.

He knows that no one dares to speak to me in that way, who does this woman think she is? “Did you tell her who I was?” I asked him.

“Yes, she seemed to be aware of who you were Alpha.” He tells me.

Yet she still chose to blow me off, I have to admit that even if I am pissed, a part of me is intrigued, I mean it's been a while since anyone has said no to me.

“Get in the car Billy, let's go back to the office.” I tell him.

“Yes, Alpha Bowers.” He bows his head, I take up my window.

“Billy, has the tech team been able to find anything more on Miss Edmund?” I asked him as I took out my phone from my pocket.

“Actually Alpha, they did try to get more information on her, they were able to get some more basic information but that was it, anything relating to her past or careers or family, they couldn't find anything.” He tells me.

“That's not possible, I have the best hackers in the country, couldn't they just hack it and get the information that I need?” I asked him, I was getting really tired of the excuses today and I know it wasn't his fault but he's the one here right now.

“I'm sorry Alpha, they said that they tried but they said it can't be hacked and when they tried to hack it, our system was hacked instead and the hacker stole millions of our codes.” Billy tells me.

That immediately has me thinking, who exactly is this woman? She shows up out of nowhere, makes my daughter speak for the first time and the best tech team in the country can't seem to find anything on her.

I take out my phone and dial the one person who must know something about her.

  “Good morning Mr. Bowers.”

  “Good morning Jim.”

“To what do I owe this call?” He asks me but I can hear the cautiousness in his tone.

“I hear you hired a new medical examiner.” I tell him.

“That's right, Miss Edmund, she's great in her field. She'll be a real asset to the Major Crimes Unit.” He tells me.

“Where exactly did you find her?” I ask him.

“Is there something wrong Mr. Bowers?” He asks me.

“No, not at all, I'm just trying to get to know the newest addition to the police department as it does fall in Blood Moon Pack territory, I might need her help with something.” That's as much as I'm going to give him.

“Ok, well she applied for the job and she had stellar references from Denver where she previously stayed, I mean I would've been a fool to pass up the opportunity and from what my men have been saying she's really good and can hold her own and that's just from her starting work tonight.” He tells me.

“Well I'm happy our city now has a good medical examiner, so you say that she previously worked in Denver right?” I asked him.

“Yes that's right.” He tells me.

“Well I drove to your building to talk to her but apparently she was too busy to see me.” I tell him and I can hear his shocked gasp over the phone.

“I apologise for that Mr. Bowers, she's new you know, she doesn't know who you are. I'll talk to her and drive her over to your office myself.” He tells me.

“I'd appreciate that, thank you Jim.” I tell him and then I hang up the call.

Next up I call my brother.

“Hey, did you find her?” He immediately asks me.

“Yes I did.” I tell him.

“And did she agree to help?” He asks with so much enthusiasm in his voice.

My brother's special talent might be getting on my last nerve but the one thing he is good at is being an uncle, he loves my kids like they're his own.

“I haven't spoken to her yet.” I tell him.

    “Why not?” He asks me.

“It doesn't matter, I'll talk to her before the end of the day. How are the kids?” I ask him.

“Well they're both good, had breakfast, did some homeschool now they're having their snacks and colouring.” He tells me.

“What about Sophia? Has she said anything?” I ask him.

“No, but she has been keeping that drawing of Natalie close to her, she doesn't want to let go of it.” He tells me.

“Ok, I need you to call the tech team and tell them that Natalie worked in Denver before she came here. They should be able to pick up a trail there.” I tell him.

“Ok, I'll do that.” He tells me.

“Also, there's a possibility that I'll get home late today, so I'm going to need you to take my place at the pack meeting tonight.” I tell him and he is silent on the phone.

“Steven, did you hear what I said?” I asked him.

“Yes, I did, I'm just finding it hard to believe. Why can’t your beta do it?” He asks me.

“Because Mark has his own duties, I'm asking you because you are my brother, do not let me down Steven.” I tell him.

    “I won't, I promise.” He tells me.

“Good.” I say and then I hang up the call, it's high time I started giving him more things to do anyway, he's been too settled.

Ms. Natalie Edmund thinks that she's the one in charge here, well she's about to find out that no one says no to me.

Alpha Samuel Bowers. I leave the garden and I make my way into the house to find Troy but my mind is still on Alpha Thomas and what just happened out there. He misses Natalie and he regrets how he treated her. I wish I could ask him more questions about her but that was clearly not the time to do it. Also I don't believe him when he says the state of the house and its surroundings and also the pack is because they are going through renovations for his birthday, something is definitely going on here and I'm going to find out. “Alpha Bowers, I was just about to bring the wine.” Troy says as he comes into the hallway. “I don't think that will be necessary Troy, Alpha Thomas told me to come find you, he said you would be able to help me with some details about the man that was killed.” I say and he immediately gets a somber look on his face. “Of course Alpha Bowers, what do you want to know?” He asks me as we walk into the formal sitting room and I take a seat. “Everything that you

Alpha Samuel Bowers. I make my way over to Moon Shadow Pack, the drive down there takes about thirty minutes and I really do not want to be here and not just because of Yara, but because of Alpha Thomas. I get to the gate leading into the pack and then I whine down my window, immediately the guards see me they bow their heads ans the rush to open the gates. So as I was saying, Alpha Thomas hasn't necessarily done anything bad to me, it's just who he is as a person that rubs me all sort of wrong. He's old school, you know those kind of Alpha's that believe women are beneath them and that they should be subservient to men, I've even heard rumours of the evil ways he treats his omegas, but it isn't my pack and he is the Alpha and the council won't do anything about it because most of the Alpha's on the council are just like him. I park my car in front of the Alpha's Residence that looks like it has seen better days. I get down from the car and it's just then that it hits me that it'

Alpha Samuel Bowers.I wish that Natalie was here under different circumstances, that we didn't have this dark cloud hovering over us, but she was here and that's all that really matters. I told Mark to meet me in my office so he should be here soon. I know you're all wondering why my brother isn't my Beta, well I became Alpha at a very young age and my brother, well he was even younger, I couldn't put that on his shoulders, so I chose my best friend Mark as my Beta. I mean this whole thing is just crazy, my mother used to tell us bedtime stories about the men that wished for immortality and the bloody things that they did to get it and then how the werewolves and the witches formed an alliance in order to bring them down. I mean in my head I knew that it was real but at the same time, I didn't expect something like that to happen again, but it's here now and it's happening. There's a knock on my door and Mark walks in, he's a cheery fellow, always has a smile on his face. “You v

NATALIE. The drive down to Blood Moon Pack has been filled with tension and I'm seriously considering going back on my word and turning the car around so we can go and get his video game set but I don't, I'm the parent in this situation and Clayton needs this. He's still a kid and he's too occupied with those games, staying at the pack will be good for the boys, I want them to explore and learn what it means to be a wolf and he won't be able to do any of that if he has his head stuck in his games. “So when we get there, I want you to remember that we are visitors, which means you have to be on your best behaviour.” I tell them. Xavier answers me while Claytoj just mumbles under his breath but I will take that as an answer. We pass the border leading into Blood Moon Pack territory and I can see the shock and excitement on the boys faces and even Clayton looks out the window. Clearly not all packs have this much land and nature and wildlife but still it's good that this is their f

NATALIE. The boys were super hyped last night and I don't know if it was the sugar from the cupcakes or just excitement at the move, I mean I even caught Clayton cracking a smile a few times. I finally had to threaten them before they agreed to go to bed, but we had our bags packed and we were ready to leave. You would think with all the running around and packing that I would be so tired that I would just crash in bed. But no, I had a fitful sleep, anytime I closed my eyes, I saw Samuel, he haunted my dreams and at one point, I just gave up and got out of bed. It was about four in the morning at that point. I took a shower, washed my hair and then I put on some comfy clothes and I made myself a cup of coffee and watched one of the housewives show. I must've fallen asleep on the couch because next thing I know, I'm waking up to the sound of someone knocking on the door and when I open my eyes, it's no longer dark out, the sun is up. With sleepy eyes, I make my way over to the doo

NATALIE. With that much needed pep talk from Theo, I got up and went to a store just around the corner from the house and I got some cupcakes and some board games for the boys and then I got back home and started packing. I just needed to pack our clothes, it's not like we were moving, I wad still going to keep the apartment. I was almost done with my things when I heard incessant knocking on the front door and I immediately knew who it was.I opened the front door and they both ran at me and hugged my legs. “Mummy.” The both of them screamed so loudly and it made me smile. I closed the door and then I went down to my knees so I would be on the same level as them. “Oh my sweet boys, I missed you so much. Oh my you've only been gone for a few days and you're already so tall.” I tell them and they both have huge grins on their faces. “We missed you too mummy.” They both say at the same time. I help them take off their bags and then we go to the kitchen. “I got you cupcakes, to cel

YARA. “Natalie Edmund?” I asked like I didn't just hear what he said and almost immediately it clicked in my head where I had heard that name before. Edmund was my mother's maiden name, well it's not like I could call her my mother, I barely even knew the woman, she was simply the woman that g

NATALIE. Samuel's facial features were flawless as if they were carved out by God himself. Combined with his strong and imposing aura, it was clear to me that he was a person that most people would find hard to ignore. This could be a problem, I mean he was right behind me. But then

NATALIE. I was pretty sure that my eyes were wide with shock. I couldn't believe this just happened and I mean the nerve of this man, just because he is the Alpha, he feels like he can go around and do whatever he likes? But there's nothing that I can do anymore, he has seen my face, I
