I couldn't tell where the dreams ended and reality began. If it were a dream, or a hallucination, in which case I was going certifiably insane. To think what the queen had brought home, a daughter without a wolf but instead, she had vivid interactions with the prince…her brother. Or whatever he was to me- I actually had no idea. Nobody really talked about Samuel as my brother, it was sort of a hushed conversational topic. The room was bright from the lamp in the ceiling. The curtains were drawn so the sun wasn’t streaming in through the windows but when I turned and looked at my clock, I realized they wouldn't either way. It was three o'clock in the middle of the night. I drew in a deep breath, filling my lungs with oxygen until I couldn’t. Then I blew out, every little ounce I had come out in that breath. Repeat. I dragged my hands over my face and my lip followed down as my hands went to my chin. I groaned and rolled over, I knew full well that I wouldn't get any sleep tonight
I wrapped a towel around my body and noticed my fingers were similar to crumbled raisins. I opened the door and saw Meredith standing there with disheveled hair and a glare that could kill. ”You nearly gave me a heart attack, I thought you had passed out and slammed your head or something,” she said and fixed her dress while simultaneously grasping at her chest with her hand. ”Sorry, I’m fine, must’ve fallen asleep,” I said as convincingly as I could. Meredith stopped patting and her hand fell to her side, she lifted her head slightly, her eyes meeting mine. They knew I lied, she knew I lied, would she call me out on it? ”I understand, get ready, breakfast is downstairs,” she said and smile ominously. I nodded my head and got out of the bathroom, picked out some clothes, and waited til Meredith was out of the room before I threw myself on the bed and buried my face in a pillow. Shit shit shit shit. Whose voice was that in the shower? It was Percy I had been seeing but It was
I was looking at him but also saw the girls behind him looking at each other, unspoken words being shared, and knowing looks and glances thrown between. ”You’re clubbing with us tomorrow?” He asked me, his voice suddenly sterner, and the playful joker was wiped off completely. This guy was a rollercoaster of personalities. Was that the only question people were able to ask me? Nothing about how I've been adjusting, the weather, the horses, nothing except for clubbing, the one question I couldn't answer. ”Yo, Dave, let’s go,” Sam said and slammed a hand on Dave's back. His eyes were still gazing into mine, something unspoken was screaming behind them, there was something ominous there that I couldn't see and whatever it was I wouldn't get to know. Dave turned around, in a nanosecond his joyful spirit was back and he was slapping Sam around. ”We’re going with them to get some homework done, just wanted to meet you, say hi, and that if you do choose to come with us tomorrow, we
What had just happened? I couldn't fathom why they had ganged up, circled, and tried to harm me. But as soon as they heard who I was, they were apologetic, they stopped, apologized, and seemed horrified, not because of what they had done and planned to do but because of who I was. The princess. If I hadn't been her, nobody would've saved me, nobody would've cared and they wouldn't have stopped. All because of a stupid title that doesn't hold any real meaning or power, not really, not for me. Everything in me went numb after he touched me, he did it to scare me, hurt me, and possibly worse. They were three, three strong guys with their wolves and I was alone, with no wolf and no strength. I couldn't fight back. The little I had done, kicking him between his legs, had done nothing. He didn't bend over as I thought, he wasn't startled and hurt, the others didn't back away. I hoped the kick would buy me more time so I could run away because running was all I could do. I felt weake
My eyes fluttered, my breathing grew heavier and my hands were sweaty. The electricity that flushed through me under Sam’s touch was liberating. His fingers drew circles on my skin before going further down to my sweatpants. His hand stopped and rested on my thigh, his circle moving up and down over the fabric and his other fingers laying still. I thought that maybe he’d stop, realizing that this was bad, but a part of me stiffened when he stopped and after a while slumped in dissatisfaction. I returned to watching the movie whilst also increasingly aware of his hands' placement. I was beginning to get more and more sucked into the film again, oblivious to everything else, when I felt his fingers digging into my skin, grabbing a hold of my flesh before moving down between my legs and spreading them. I tried pinching them together, but in comparison to Sam, I was as weak as a human. ”This is a dream, this is a dream, it’s nothing but a dream,” I said aloud as I shut my eyes clo
~Selene~ ”I would really appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone that I was here,” Steph continued and eyed me in a way that made me shiver. ”Why?” I asked her and tried not to let my emotions show. Steph gently shook her head. Her face was an unpenetrable mask and she looked like a beautiful statue. ”You can't trust the people here, Selene,” She said and once again I shivered but this time it was noticeable. My shoulders shook and the goosebumps were viciously growing on my body. Steph licked her lips and then continued. ”I heard from Emma,” She said and looked into my eyes, awaiting a reaction. ”You know Emma?” I asked her in shock. ”I do. We’ve known each other for a long time. I have friends a little here and there, some I see when we go into town and others I merely talk to on the phone from time to time. But Emma is one I've always been close to, she misses you,” Steph said and then paused. ”I’ve been meaning to call her, I just…I haven't had the time or known wha
~Percy~ My father and Samatha were on their way here to meet me and Patrick in my office. I had already packed a bag and had one foot out the door. I needed to see her, I needed to know that Selene was alright. The not knowing part was driving me insane. ”They’re here,” Patrick said and a second later the door opened up and they stepped inside. ”Son,” he said and took a stand in front of me with Samantha close behind. Samantha wasn't smiling as she normally had the past few days that she had been here. She was wearing a serious look and based on how my father was tapping his foot and his cheeks were red something told me they had more information. ”I heard Samatha told you about her history,” He said. ”She did,” FLASHBACK ”What can you tell me that will be of actual use?” I said annoyingly when she hadn't spoken after mentioning that her father was the former Beta of the Timber Pack. ”When we lived there, during which my father was Alpha Caspian's Beta, everything was di
Downstairs most of the warriors were already gathered, going over the rogue problems another pack had been facing and seeing if any of them were lurking around our borders. I doubted that, our name was spoken very loudly in almost all packs. ”Listen up.” I said as I went to stand where the gamma was giving his briefing. ”Alpha.” He said and stepped aside. ”I just need to say a few words and then the floor is yours, Gabe,” I said and took the floor. Gabe's father was the one who would train the warriors and make sure the borders were always safe. He retired around the same time that I took over the title from my father, and Gabe took his place. And I must say, he’s doing a hell of a better job than his old man ever did. ”I’m leaving, I don't know when I'll be back but the second I know, so will you. In my absence, my father will take the position as the acting Alpha of the Lycan Pack. He knows the ropes, he knows you and you him so there shouldn't be any problems.” I said and t
