Inseminated?

"Mistakenly inseminated?" I inquired, frozen to the spot. "What does that even mean?"

Her mouth opened and closed like a fish, then she took a deep breath before saying, "This is a willing introduction of sperm into a woman's body usually for the sake of procreation. But in your case, it was a mistake_"

"Unbelievable!" The Alpha hissed and took a slow stride backwards. "When you are done listening to the rubbish she has to say, you two should meet me at home." He left the room, banging the door after him. That was only when I heaved a sigh of relief.

"I am deeply sorry, Emma. I only just realised this a few minutes ago," Dr Spencer admitted and entwined her hands together as she took me in intently, her expression remorseful. My mother didn't say anything but simply stared at her in amazement.

Do they understand what they have just done to me? They inseminated me without my permission, what do they want me to do?

"Nurse Cherry, kindly wait outside while I speak to the Luna and her daughter in private." She glanced at the Nurse and he nodded and left after sharing a pitiful look with me.

My mother finally recovered from her shock and cleared her throat. "So, what do you expect my daughter to do now?" Her tone was calm, albeit piercing. "Do you understand what you have done to her? You have ruined her life!"

"I understand, Luna," Dr. Spencer expressed, her voice as soft as silk. She was visibly trembling on her feet from what I could see as she knew how much this would also affect her. Everyone in the pack saw her as a medical figurehead and if they found out she allowed something like this to go wrong in her hospital, she would no longer be looked at the same way.

"I can promise you that the Nurse who did this would be properly dealt with and this situation would be rectified."

"How?!" I screamed, the weight of my situation dawning on me. My life was ruined. I wasn't loved in the first place and now this? They would mock me. I wouldn't be able to show my face in public after this. All for what? Someone else's mistake? Tears began pouring in tides down my face.

"I am sueing this hospital," My mother spat at her face, picked up my hands and nudged me to the door, throwing the test result at her. "All of you would pay for this. All of you!"

"Please, Luna_"

We were out of there, the door slamming behind us. I literally staggered after Mother because my head was clouded with so much I couldn't concentrate. I envisaged so many bad things that would happen to me. So many hurdles which were now standing between me and all my dreams of finding my mate and leaving the packhouse after my 18th birthday. I was doomed.

When we reached the packhouse, I ran to my room and shut the door, making sure to lock it to give me space to think away from everyone. I slid down the floor and with my hands bunched around my legs and my head stuck between my knees, I wept. I have been through a lot in my seventeen years, with several terrible things happening to me because I was an Omega.

I used to hate my parents for getting married knowing they were both from the lowest ranks in the werewolf pack. But with time, as I grew older, I realised people like us could only end up with our kind. There was no alternative. It was either that, or we die alone and miserable. And if we decided to run away from our pack, we would end up as rogues and that was the worst. It was either we were killed, ran mad or one day we died of extra loneliness. So, the best was to be mated to anyone, even if another omega and continue the lineage of lowlives.

Now, with this pregnancy, my mate would never accept me.

My fate had become worse.

Three days later I was still drooling around the house, with no solution to my problem. The only one that occurred to me was: I had to terminate the pregnancy. It kept ringing in my head everywhere I went and every night I went to bed. That was the only way. I didn't know who owned this baby and honestly, I didn't care. I wanted to be free and given the opportunity to have my own life, have my mate whoever he might be and do life on my own terms.

At the end of that week, I had made my decision about it and was preparing to tell my mother that morning after breakfast when my phone rang. I checked it, it was an unknown number. I caught the Alpha glaring at me from across the table and quietly excused myself.

"Hello," I picked it up.

"Hello, Emma," A familiar voice came from the other side. What does she want? "It's Dr. Spencer."

"What do you want?" I bristled.

"I understand you don't want to hear my voice right now, Emma, however, If you would kindly come down to the hospital this evening, I have something important to discuss with you. Please, don't tell the Luna about it."

"And what makes you think I would listen to you?"

"Because it would be in our best interest, Emma. Trust me."

I felt like telling her to fuck off. After all, if her stupid Nurses hadn't made that mistake I wouldn't be in this mess. However, deep inside, something told me to go and hear what she had to say. Who knows, she might have a solution to this problem. One that bordered on removing it the same way they put it there. "Okay," I said after a while. "This better be good." With that, I cut the call.

That evening, as hard as it seemed, I made up my mind not to tell my mother about the call. Instead, I lied to her I was going on a walk. I noticed how the Alpha had eyed me, but brushed it off and hurried out. Since the confrontation at the hospital, he has been offensively silent. Unlike him, which left me more worried. Who knew what he was planning?

Maybe, to murder me?

I walked into the hospital and hurried in the direction of the Doctor's office, shielding my face with the scarf I had in case someone saw me and mind-linked any member of my family about my whereabouts. It wasn't easy manoeuvring through the hospital halls with several pack members present, but eventually, I made it to her hall without anyone seeing me.

Then I removed the scarf around my head and took in a large gust of air and immediately my breath paused, my eyes growing wider. What is that smell? I began sniffing fervently, my nose thrusting in the direction of Dr. Spencer's office door in outright astonishment.

Wood and spice. Jeez, it smelt so good. I have never smelt something so nice, it made me want to eat up every bit of it.

The door opened, and a very tall handsome, impeccably dressed stranger stood there, his mesmerizing brown eyes glowering intently at me. Then, his lips opened and he said the word, "Mates."

Mate! This handsome stranger is my mate!

But something was amiss. He didn't look cheerful about it. His eyes which were enchanting when he first saw me had suddenly turned to ice as they scrutinized me from head to toe, the corners of his mouth tilting in almost plain disgust. His defined jawlines were stony and the veins were visible as they walked in obvious fury. But, why is he mad?

"Oh, there you are," Dr. Spencer appeared beside him, reaching out to take my wrist and dragged me into the office. He followed. My eyes of their own volition kept flying back to him like glue. "Emma, thank you very much for agreeing to see me." She ushered me into a seat. The stranger, my mate, stood at the edge of the table, his hand in his expensive well-trimmed trouser suit, his cold eyes still clasped on me. Not saying a word.

"Alpha Ethan, this is the carrier of your heir, Emma Harehills, and Emma, this is the father of the child you are carrying, Alpha Ethan Coldstone."
