54. Hurdle

Mysterious darkness.

It was like I was lost in a mysterious darkness, in spite of the fire that occupied the whole dungeon. It was strange that I could feel that indefinite darkness, occupying me. Something that could be likened to the same set of emotions, I had felt when dad was murdered in a cold blood.

My hands reached for my ear, covering it from the numerous sounds I was presently hearing. My heart began to make erratic thuds from the memory lane I was taken back to. It was like something you dreaded, happening all over again. There was a creepy sensation lurking in my lower belly.

“Dad…” My lips shakily let out. I didn’t even know when my mouth made out that word.

“I didn’t mean to leave you, dad…” I added again. A feeling of déjà vu radiated through me, but this was different. Because something really dangerous, triggered this. The only thing was that I didn’t know what.
