4.

His wolf's shouts in his head as well as the overwhelming sweet scent that flooded his senses almost knocked him off his feet. It was a feeling foreign to him but it cosumed him. He had no idea when he transformed to his wolf self and was already racing to the direction of the scent before he realized what he was doing. His realisation did nothing to slow him down as he just kept running. He didn't understand what was going on all he knew was his mate was here in this measly human town.

His. Mate.

He watched her as she walked into a place he didn't know what it was called as in the human town, he read on the entrance "gymnastics and body fitness training"

"What is she doing here?" He entered and followed her but she didn't notice anyone there.

He sat down and studied all that was going on, he didn't want to just walk up to a stranger so he stared at her from the distance.

Mira started off with jugging to warm up herself as she settled into the atmosphere at the gym. Her instructor directed her on different work out she would be doing for the hour and she set her mind in accomplishing them even if she felt like giving up countless times, something at the back of her mind kept pushing her to do it, she carried weights to exercise her arms, she used the bicycle machine that rides on one point to exercise her legs. After the hour elapsed and laid flat on the floor breathing like she just ran a marathon.

"They are always lazy" Alex muttered to himself

He was having alot of doubt because he haven't gone close enough, so he decided to keep following her until he can get close and confirm. His wolf told him but he refused to believe because of the dislike he had for humans.

Mira left the gym after taking a few minutes of rest on the floor, she walked back home and felt so accomplished for the day, she recalled her section with Mrs Judy after school today and it gave her a lot of strength to put in what she was trying to become.

"Good afternoon Mrs Judy" she greeted as she entered the old lady office

"Welcome darling, I'm so glad you're still keeping up with the spirit you left here with yesterday" Mrs Judy complimented her and she took a seat

"You're the best" Mira said and took a seat too

"No dear, you're the best" Mrs Judy chuckled at the girls enthusiasm for the section today "let's begin, how do you feel after school today?" Miss Judy asked

"I didn't get any attention from anyone today, guess I was lucky. Not having attention is better than having it and them using it to bully me" she shrugged

"That's a bit of a good news" Mrs Judy said

"Yes, I guess so" Mira replied

"Now at least your mind is a peace, so we will be talking about your willingness to let go of the hurtful experiences that happened in the past" Mr Judy stated

"That's going to be really difficult" Mira said honestly

"You can start by changing that and saying it will be easy, that's your first step to obtaining your goal" Mrs Judy explained

"I'm sorry" Mira said sadly

"No dear, I'm not offended" Mrs Judy corrected

"Oh, okay?" Mira said unsure

"Let's take it bit by bit" Mrs Judy said and Mira nodded slowly

"Now you'll have to change your mindset first about it being difficult and that it is going to be easy for you to leave all your bad experiences in the past behind so that it won't draw back your zeal on what you want to because " Mrs Judy said

"Okay, I understand ma'am." Mira nodded "it will be easy for me to leave the bad experiences I had in the past behind and move on" Mira said and took in a huge amount of breath to accept her newly found believe

"Now we're talking" Mrs Judy sent her a warm smile and Mira returned it with a small smile on her lips

"Next, one by one you are going to tell yourself that nothing is going to hurt you again, you're going to think deep and mention all what have been said that made you cry and tell you're self that it won't affect you ever again" Mrs Judy said

Mira sighed and began "they said I'm ugly, I am not, they said I'm fat I...I.." she shuttered

"I know you have believed over the years all these things so the seem true to you, you might have lot of weight but you can try to reduce it and now before that time reach you should begin telling yourself you're not fat anymore" Mrs Judy explained

She nodded in understanding and continued

"They said I'm ugly, but I'm not, they said I'm fat but I'm not, they said I smell but I don't, they say I'm dull but I'm not" she concluded

"When you start believing what they say you'll get hurt and scared but when you start standing for yourself on the grounds that you're not what they said it means they won't hurt you anymore because you know the truth now and what they said we're lies" Mrs Judy stated

"Thanks ma'am" Mira said in appreciation

"Darling you don't need to thank me" Mrs Judy said

"I do" Mira smiled

"And I accept" Mrs Judy said "now repeat it again before we call it a day, I want to be assured you get used to it from today" Mrs Judy stated

"They said I'm ugly, but I'm not, they said I'm fat but I'm not, they said I smell but I don't, they say I'm dull but I'm not" she repeated according and closed her eyes while she said it to accept it all.

"Great, thanks for coming today Mira, I'm proud of the progress you are making" Mrs Judy said as they stood up

"I promise to make you happier, I will try to put all that you are teaching me to practice" Mira said and stood up

"That's a good spirit" Mrs Judy said and walked her to the door

"See you tomorrow" Mira said and Mrs Judy waved her off as she left the office and walked down to the gym

By the time she was done recalling the event at Mrs Judy office as she walked home, she was at the entrance of their house.

Her mum just got back home and they both walked into the house together

"Hi mum" she greeted

"My beautiful princess, how was your day?" She asked and gave her daughter a kiss in her cheeks

"It was kind to me" Mira replied unknowing that she had been followed since she left the gym

"That's great" her mum smiled

"What's for dinner" Mira asked

"I bought take outs" her mum replied and passed her a pack

"Oh thanks" she took a seat and opened her food

"You're welcome my love" her mum joined her and they sat silently

When Mira was done with her meal she dispose her pack and left the kitchen "good night mum" she said and went up to her room.

She went to her room, took a seat at her reading table and did some studying, she didn't study for long because of the stressful day she had at the gym, her body was getting used to the new deal so she needed to go to bed earlier than before, she got into her bathroom and showered, she wore her cute nightie and bounced in her bed, she remembered that she is to read her affirmations before she sleeps but she was mentally and physically exhausted so she postponed it to the morning before she leaves for school, she added it to her Todo list mentally.

Finally, she smiled at her accomplished day and no pranks on her kind of day, she felt happy, in a long time she had not be this happy with her day, now that she was she appreciated it over and over again before finally she drifted to a peaceful and calm sleep.

Not so long into her peaceful sleep, Mira kept tossing and turning in bed. She wasn't someone with any problem sleeping, yet she felt so uncomfortable and couldn't completely fall asleep.

Mira couldn't help feeling like someone was watching her. Eventually she gave up trying to sleep and opened her eyes. She left her room and went down to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of milk, it always made her sleepy. When she was down with her glass of milk she rinsed her cup and went back up to her room.

As she sat up in her bed her eyes caught a shadow in her darkened room standing by her window. She gasped and quickly reached out to put on her bedside lamp but after putting the lamp on, she found that there was no one there.

Mira sat up confused by what just happened. She shook her head and looked around her room again.

Was she now seeing things?

She sighed rubbing her eyes with her hand in an attemptto somehow clear her head by doing so.

It had been a stressful week so it was probably just her stressed eyes playing tricks on her. She thought and laughed nervously at her own cowardice. She would tell Lu-Lu the whole episode of what just happened and they'd laugh at it together.

Knowing fully well that she wouldn't be able to fall asleep again, she decided to read a book. A novel Lu-Lu had borrowed her over a month ago. It was supposed to be a good book about a cowgirl and aliens. Trust Lu-Lu to pick the weirdest things. Mira settled down on her mini couch by her west window. Her room was actually the attic. When Mira and her mom had moved to this house. Mira immediately fell in love with the attic and its' window views. It had two windows, one facing the busy street while the other facing the forest behind the house. One window was always so lively while the other serene and sometimes both scenes met in her room like two rivers crashing into eachother.

The book was in her hand but it had failed to occupy her mind as she peeked at the forest out of her window every once in a while.

Something about the forest fascinated her, pulled her towards it.

She didn't know what it was but she knew something was about to change. She just had that feeling. Anxious. Like how she always felt when she was to recieve her test results. Never really knowing if the outcome was good or bad. One could only hope, but you never really knew.

She takes a deep breath and looks out of the window again, expecting to look at the same ordinary forest but this time something caught her eye.

Just at the edge of the forest she saw a figure run by with inhuman speed behind the trees. She spotted two other figures running closely behind. They seemed to be running straight to her house. She clamped her hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming. This had to be a dream.

She quickly got up and leaned her torso out of the window, watching the last glimpses of the cat and mouse game before they disappeared from her line of vision.

Mira stayed like that, slightly leaning out of the window as she looked at the forest with curiosity and tried to make sense of the scene that happened seconds ago.

What were those things in the forest?

It was too dark outside to see anything that far clearly but whatever it was, it was clearly too fast to be the Kalvin twins who had planked her and her mother last halloween. Mira had completely forgotten about her book so when it fell suddenly from the couch, she jumped almost having a heart attack. This was crazy. She thought picking up the book.

Sighing Mira closed the window but couldn't help looking out.

It was dark and silent, the only noise being the faint chirping of the crickets.

Minutes went by with her standing in front of the window, looking at the forest but nothing happened. A yawn escaped her lips and she finally decided that it was time to go to bed when suddenly a something walking out of the forest, only for her to notice that what she saw was in reality wolves. She counted them, they were three. Wolves in a residential area.

She tried to think but no! There was no zoo anywhere close by so how the hell did wolves get there.

These animals were unusual. Two smaller wolves and a much bigger one. The black wolf was much bigger than the other ones but Mira was too shocked at the moment to be scared of the fact that wolves were in her fucking backyard. Her eyes fixed at the scene in front of her. They seemed oblivious to her audience and seemed to be somehow communicating amongst them selves.

She wanted to run away and call the police, or animal control in this case but it was like as if she was nailed there, paralyzed.

She just stood and stared at the wolves as the smaller wolves paraded lazily around her back yard before going back to meet the black wolf who remained at the entrance to the forest.

The black wolf looked briefly at the other wolves and then turned around making eye contact with her causing her heart to stop.
