Chapter 5

Autor: Shy Shae
Nancy took a deep breath and turned around. "What do you want from me?"

Evan frowned as he felt a strange frustration. Nancy was the only child of the Sartori family and had always been a proud woman. She treated everyone coldly except for Evan, the only person to whom she would reveal her soft, feminine side. However, Nancy was acting like a stranger to him now, and it was making him anxious.

"My hand hurts, Evan." Rebecca's sobbing voice made Evan snap out of it. His face fell as he walked darkly toward Nancy and grabbed her arm.

"Let go!" Nancy frowned as she turned pale from the pain. However, she was not Evan's match and could only let him drag her next to the table and force her to kneel, no matter how much she struggled.

"Hit her back, Rebecca." His order shocked Rebecca and Nancy.

Nancy said in astonishment, "What are you talking about, Evan? If you dare touch a hair on me, my dad and Frank won't let you get away with it!"

"I don't think I should do this, Evan… Ms. Sartori is a Principessa, after all. If the Dons come after me…"

Evan looked coldly at me and spoke with indifference, "What are you afraid of with me around?"

His words must have given Rebecca confidence as she raised her hand in anticipation, but she put her hand down next. "I'm afraid of hurting my hand, Evan. Can I… Use this instead?"

Rebecca looked around and picked up an exquisite pair of Adam and Eve dolls. Evan and Nancy had made those dolls as ornaments for the house and even dripped their blood into them during the creation process. Evan had said that it signified them being together forever, but now, Rebecca was raising the ornament high in the air as she aimed it down at Nancy's wrist. "Don't you dare, Evan Jenco! Let me go!"

Nancy struggled to escape from his grip, but Evan did not even hesitate to keep her down, and even nodded without a second thought. "Go ahead."

Rebecca got closer and closer to Nancy. The next second saw her smash the ornament down hard on Nancy's wrist, which turned red and became swollen right away. As for the Adam and Eve ornament, they fell to the ground and broke into several pieces. It was just like their relationship. There was no going back.

Nancy screamed from the pain. Her face turned pale, and she broke out in cold sweat. It was only then that Evan finally released her. Nancy held her wrist and looked up at him with tears in her eyes. She clenched her teeth and said slowly to him, "You know me, Evan. I'll make sure you pay for this a hundred times over."

Evan sneered. "Stop with your pretense, Nancy. Everyone knows how deeply in love you are with me. You can't bear to shoot me even if I gave you a gun right now."

"How do you know I wouldn't do it? The Nancy Sartori who loved you is dead," Nancy replied stoically.

Evan was taken aback, but quickly grabbed Rebecca into his arms as he continued being distant and indifferent. "I'll be waiting for that day then, Principessa. Don't disappoint me." He paused before looking threateningly at Nancy. "I'm warning you, today was just a minor lesson. Touch Rebecca again, and I won't hesitate to feed you to the sharks."

Rebecca smiled sweetly at his words. Before she left, she made it a point to take Nancy's ruby ring away with her. "Thank you for the gift, Ms. Sartori."

Nancy watched as they left. She said weakly, but with determination, "You'll regret this, Evan Jenco…" Evan paused in his footsteps, but did not look back. They made sure to lock the doors from the outside before they strode away.

It took a long time for Nancy to snap out of her pain while she was lying on the ground. She was the Sartori family's Principessa who had been pampered all her life. Evan was the only person who had hurt her again and again.

Nancy stared at the tightly shut door, and after that, looked at her surroundings. She did not hesitate to make her way to the window and leap right out. She heard the bones in her legs break the moment she landed. The intense pain right then felt just like the time Evan had broken her legs.

That year, Evan vowed with his life that he would never hurt her again, but today, he had indulged another woman to break her right hand. What a joke it was.

She stood up in a limp and called a number stoically. Ten minutes later, dozens of bodyguards appeared in front of her. They were well-trained, and they started setting up wires around the villa silently, but efficiently. When they were done, the head bodyguard passed a remote to Nancy.

Nancy looked at the house, which she had taken the effort to decorate, as it would have been her home with Evan after they got married, and pressed down on the button without hesitation. Flames flared high in the air in that instant.

The huge villa burned brightly in the great flames, and eventually all that was left were ashes. The fire threw a light on the side of Nancy's pale, but beautiful face. It took a long time before she said softly, "This is really the end between us, Evan Jenco."

  • The Amnesia Deceit   Chapter 24

Evan suddenly barged into the church, and his voice resonated in the air. Nancy looked at his messy suit and said in exasperation, "Can't I have a proper wedding? What are you doing here, Evan?"Colton's eyes narrowed as he stared coldly at Evan. Even Frank, who was seated below the stage, tried to talk sense into Evan, "Go home, Evan. You shouldn't be creating trouble at Nancy's wedding.""I'm not creating trouble! I'm here to take you away with me, Nancy. Colton Serra is a scoundrel who took liberty with the situation. What kind of man is he to do that? Come with me, Nancy. I promise to give you happiness," Evan pleaded as he reached his hand out to Nancy.Nancy did not even give him a second glance as she turned to look at Colton instead. "Take care of this right away.""Got it." Colton smiled, but his smile vanished the moment he turned to look at Evan. He snapped his fingers, and bodyguards immediately surrounded Evan. "Throw him out of this church.""Don't touch me! If you

Nancy was surprised that Colton had chosen this moment to bring it up, but all she did was raise an eyebrow without objecting. Frank was the one whose eyes widened with astonishment. He had no idea how Nancy and Colton ended up together. "This requires discussion and planning, but if Nancy has no objections, I'm happy to support your decision."Colton wrapped his arm around Nancy's waist and lowered his head to whisper into her ear, "You need to get married sooner or later. Why not choose to marry me? At the very least, I've professed absolute loyalty to you." Moreover, Colton now had the entire Jenco family at his disposal. Nancy's eyes narrowed, but she did not expose Colton's little scheme. "I have no objections, Frank." Frank smiled happily when Nancy affirmed the decision. He nodded and returned to his seat. Frank used to stand up tall, but now looked slightly rickety. He waved them off and said with a sigh, "You young people should go ahead and make your own decisions.

"What?!" Evan and Frank called out in unison. Frank stood up immediately from his chair, but he started coughing violently from the agitation. His face was flushed, and Colton had to hold him by the shoulders while picking up a glass of water carefully from the side."Take it slow, Don Jenco." Frank finally calmed down after finishing the water slowly. He patted the back of Colton's hand and asked coldly, "What do you mean by this, Rebecca?"Rebecca stared at Evan with a bright smile, but her eyes were cold. "What do I mean? It means exactly what I said. Evan, I bet you weren't aware that I poisoned you. Even if you manage to survive it, you'll go crazy gradually and suffer from illusions. After that, you'll become a complete nutcase!" Rebecca's voice broke, but her smile became wider.Evan trembled as he questioned sternly, "What do you stand to gain from this, Rebecca?!""Gain from this? I don't need to gain anything. Do you really think I had feelings for you, Evan? That's jus

Colton held Nancy's hand as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "Let's go." He looked at Nancy lovingly with a soft smile on his face. Even though Nancy's expression looked indifferent, she did not stop Colton, and when they walked past Evan, Colton threw him a taunting glance.Evan clenched his teeth as he stood up from the chair. It did not matter that he was not Frank's biological son. They had been father and son for more than 20 years, and they shared a bond stronger than blood. Evan calmed himself down and adjusted his collar before following behind Colton and Nancy.Rebecca reached out to grab Evan's leg, but was kicked hard in the chest by Evan. She turned pale from the pain, and all she heard from Evan was a cold, "Get lost." He did not give her any dignity and was cold-blooded when it came to her. The last of Rebecca's feelings for him vanished along with this treatment of her.All three of them followed Frank into his study, where he took his seat and waved Co

Evan frowned at Nancy's words. "What do you mean, Nancy? It's already a miracle that an orphan like him could become an Underboss. Does he think he can become the Don?" Evan was busy being sarcastic and did not notice the look of astonishment in Frank's eyes when he said this.Nancy glanced at Evan, and later turned her gaze to Frank, who was standing not far away. "Frank, do you really want to continue to hide the truth? Is someone like Evan really worth you handing over the Jenco family to him?" Frank's silence and Nancy's calm expression finally worried Evan. "What are you talking about? What are you hiding? I'm the only child of my father. Who else can he entrust the family to besides me? I know you hate me, Nancy, but this has nothing to do with our relationship."Evan knew very well that he could be stubborn enough to do anything he wanted because of his status. If he were not the heir to the family, he would lose everything. However, Nancy ignored his pleading tone and loo

  • The Amnesia Deceit   Chapter 19

Evan, who had been indifferent about the entire party, suddenly widened his eyes. He took a step forward without a second thought, and his lips trembled slightly from agitation. "Nancy…"The light shone behind Nancy at the door, and her flowing red dress swayed gently in the air. Her hair was tied at the back of her head, and she wore a ruby necklace and a matching ruby ring, making her look even more glamorous than usual.Colton followed Nancy closely, and his gaze was fixed on her. He was wearing a maroon suit, which made him and Nancy look like a great match. When Nancy caught the look in Evan's eye, her red lips curved into a smile. "It's been a long time, Evan Jenco.""You're finally back, Nancy! I knew you couldn't bear to leave me!" Evan strode toward Nancy excitedly. However, Colton stopped him in his tracks the moment he tried to get near Nancy. Colton used his arm as a barrier between them and said coldly, "Please show some respect, Mr. Jenco." "What right do you have to
