Aria’s POV

Eliza shot up from her chair, her voice tripping over itself. “Q-Quin… when did you wake up?”

Quin’s face was pale with disbelief, eyes shining with raw hurt.

“That’s not the answer to my question,” she snapped, voice cracking. “Were you working with Priscilla?”

Eliza looked at me, desperate, silently begging for help.

I swallowed hard. “Quin…it’s a long story,” I tried, even though it felt pathetic as soon as the words left my mouth.

Quin let out a sharp, bitter laugh, shaking her head. “A long story? Are you for real?” Her voice rose, breaking apart. “You were working with the same person who had me taken by the Skulls Syndicate? The same person who basically handed me over to those bastards that tortured me?”

Eliza reached a trembling hand out. “Quin, I didn’t mean to, I swear — I’ll explain, it’s—”

“Complicated?” Quin cut her off with a ragged edge of disbelief. “Don’t even say that. You chose to keep working for her!”

Tears welled up in Quin’s eyes as

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Aria lied to you

Caspian’s POV I stared at him. He looked older and thinner, like the years had carved deep lines into his face and hollowed out what was left of his pride. But that voice… that smug, guiltless tone? It hadn’t changed at all. “You’ve grown well,” he said, stepping closer with a sick kind of familiarity. “Doesn’t look like someone carrying the guilt of abandoning his parents.” I clenched my jaw. “I didn’t come here for you. I have important things to worry about.” “Oh?” he tilted his head mockingly. “So your parents… are not important anymore?” “My parents,” I said slowly, “died a long time ago.” His eyes narrowed. “I am standing right in front of you, Caspian.” “You are ‘not’ my father.” A slow smirk tugged at his lips. “So cold. After everything I’ve been through, after what your mother went through…” Something inside me cracked. Those carefully locked memories—the ones I’d shoved down and buried beneath violence and rage—they were rising. Swelling in my chest like a storm

  • The Apex's hidden mate   I can’t relate

Caspian’s POV I paced the length of the security room, the tension in my chest tightening with every passing second. “Still nothing,” I muttered, staring down at my useless phone. “No signal. No location. No response.” “She’s not picking any of us,” Kaid said from the other side of the room, tossing his phone on the desk with a frustrated grunt. Back when we were helping Thane search for his father, we noticed how none of us could make or receive calls properly. At first, we thought it was interference, a tower issue, maybe even a security lockdown glitch… but no. That wasn’t it. We’d been hacked. Whoever did it cut off our comms — calls, messages, trackers — just enough to make it seem like a tech problem. Now, Aria’s off the grid. We were back at the penthouse, trying to reboot her security link through the console, but her phone wasn’t even connecting. No signal. No location. “I’ve scanned all satellite inputs,” I said, fingers flying across the keys. “Her phone's last ping

Aria’s POV I froze. Blank. Was he serious? “What…?” I breathed, my grip tightening around the handlebar of the bike. “What are you even talking about?” The man looked straight at me, eyes wide with something between desperation and aching hope. “I know it sounds crazy. You don’t believe me—I get it. Hell, I wouldn’t believe me either.” “You’re right,” I snapped, trying to shake off the chill crawling up my spine. “I don’t. I don’t have time for this—I need to go.” “He has messy blonde hair. Gold in his eyes, even when the light's gone. A wild look, too.” I turned sharply. “…Wait.” He took a step closer, eyes searching mine. “Have you seen someone like that?”“So you know Caspian?” The man exhaled like a weight had just been ripped from his chest. “You do know him,” he said, almost to himself. His shoulders slumped, and his voice broke. “Oh God. You know him.” “Caspian…” he murmured, eyes glazed with something distant. “That’s it. That’s his name. I… I remember now.” I nar

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Do you know my son

Arias POV The moment the words left my mouth, the beating stopped. The addicts froze like feral animals caught mid-snarl, their gaunt faces twisting toward me. One of them still had his fist mid-air, hovering over Thane’s father, whose frail body trembled on the cracked floor. This close, it was impossible not to see the signs Thane had told me about. He looked at me and scrambled backward, scraping his back against the wall like he wanted to vanish into it. “Stay back!” he croaked, voice sharp and ragged. “Demon… demon, demon—get away from me!” My heart cracked a little. “No,” I said softly, crouching down, hands lifted in peace. “I’m not a demon. I’m a friend. I’m here to help—” “What the hell does this have to do with you?” one of the addicts growled behind me. I stood up slowly and turned to face them. “Then let me ask, why are you ganging up on him? What did he do to deserve that?” “He’s got it,” another slurred — a man with rotting teeth and jittery hands. “The pills.

  • The Apex's hidden mate   Found him

Aria’s POV I stared at the screen. Why does Selene have Thane’s father? Where is she taking him? It doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t add up. I tapped the keyboard, fast-forwarding the footage slightly, tracking her movements. Selene was guiding him like she’d done it a hundred times before. He leaned into her like he trusted her, like she was familiar. And that unsettled me even more. What kind of relationship did she have with him? My jaw tensed as I followed her on the screen. Then there it was — she exited through one of the service corridors, one the staff used that didn’t have heavy traffic. She paused at the back gate, checked both sides like she was cautious of being seen, then helped him into a sleek black car waiting just beyond the hospital fence. She got in the driver’s seat and drove off. I switched feeds, fingers flying across the keys as I jumped from one street camera to the next, trying to trace the car. Come on… come on… she turned right onto one of th

  • The Apex's hidden mate   An emergency

Aria’s POV The hush that settled over the field was so thick I could hear my own ragged breathing. A thousand eyes locked on me, and then the murmuring began. Voices rose, shocked, disbelieving, washing over me like a wave. The shock collars activated again with a loud crack, dropping the rogues back into unconscious heaps across the field. Over the loudspeakers, the commentators scrambled to find their words. “Goal! A goal from the Violet Thunder team — the Omega team! That brings them to a total of four points!” “Did you see that? An Omega — yes, an OMEGA — killed a rogue with the ball! I have never, in all my years, heard of something like this!” “Who is that girl?!” Their astonished voices faded as I jogged back to the team huddle, sweat prickling under my jersey. Tyla was practically bouncing. “I knew you wouldn’t let me down, Aria!” Erica nodded quickly, breathless, eyes wide with hope. “If we keep this up, we might actually stand a chance!” Quin shook her head. “No —
